  • We are very fortunate to be able to participate in a family fun and fruitful event this year, smelt fishing dip-netting. I consider this is a festival due to the mass amount of people come out for it, that makes it very special!

      Thank you Chi! I cannot remember the number exactly, but I think #39 or something. Fish are all over the river, so go with the crowds.

      Yeah, it was so crowded that made more fun 😃Shad is coming up so will probably run into each other in one of these days. Take care, and stay safe, and keep hitting up the redtail perch!!

      It's Cowlitz River. They open one or twice annually if we are lucky.

      Hi Jeff, Thanks for dropping me a line here! We braised fish with pepper, more like the Vietnamese style, or sometime we fry them up.

      Hi, we fried them up and kids love it and I do too. We also braised fish with pepper, more like the Vietnamese style. I'll will try to do a short video. Thanks for the suggestion!

      @@mazlosoutdooradventures8594 frying them is simple, I added a bit of salt. Braised them, it's a little bit complicated and my wife is the expert. I would have to seek for her expertise:)

      @@WestCoastOutdoors I think he means that most places it would be illegal to use dip nets to catch fish.

      @@WestCoastOutdoors California everything is regulated/ prohibited, and in most other Western states dip nets are not a legal mean of fishing.
