Your video was suggested by UA-cam and thank you that was nice to see other people preassure canning shad. I do lightly smoke shad first then preassure can. I use small jars wide mouth and love it
@@WestCoastOutdoors Reminds me of how Ba Ngoai would make it. Instead of canning, she'd make it in a large crockpot for our family. Thanks for sharing, Chu. Cheers.
@@HPfishing_ Yeah, we used to slow cook them in the crockpot for 7 hours like your ba ngoai😄. Now I like to can them to save space in my freezer and also it's readily available in jars to eat on the pop.
What does this receipt taste like? When I did something similar with just bay leaf it tasted pretty much like canned tuna. So I make "tuna" sandwiches with onions, little bit of mayo and celery. I like 10 day pickling receive also to give it "pickled herring" taste and texture and dissolve majority of small bones over mashed potatoes....umhhhh umhhhh ummmhhhh.....
@@WestCoastOutdoors in case you want to fry it, which also tastes great, check out how this gentlemen de-bones it to get rid of all bones. ua-cam.com/video/fTAgJWTTm4I/v-deo.html

Looks really good.
Looks delicious😋😋😋
Thank you 😋
Great job! I dry brine, then smoke 3 hours and then pressure can to eat smoked shad year round. I’ll try your lemongrass/pineapple sometime!
Thanks! You have a good recipe there.
Yammmmmmmm.... I haven't tried smoking it yet.......
Nice work!
Thanks!

It tastes like canned fish :) It's hard to describe what it tastes like until you try it out. What I can tell you is that we really like it.
