- This is a good example of how delays occur during a ride. At the Malieveld stop (3:46), we run into a faulty switch signal. Normally the matrix signal should display a blue arrow indicating the locked setting of the switch, but in this case it remained off. Later we are held up by maintenance works on the track bedding at Centraal Station (8:34). In the end, we arrive at our terminus more than 8 minutes late... Unfortunately, no time for a break.

The Trams in Amsterdam are great, they do take off really quick, can be hard to stand up when it's really busy and you're stuck in the aisle lol

There too many junctions evey 4 seconds they stop at a station it a 30 seconds walk from each other 🙄💀

Wat gebeurt er als je onder het rijden je linkervoet optilt? Gaat dan de noodrem in werking?
Als het dodemanspedaal wordt losgelaten wordt na 5 seconden een snelremming ingezet. Die is niet zo zwaar als een noodremming :)

i wouldn't know what kind of suspension for the trams use. because in the video i can see the mirror in the cab shaking when the tram runs over the track switch
Probably chevron rubber. It’s unusual for trams these days to have air suspension.

Yep, the use of foot pedals is a quirk of the Hague trams. The first motorised trams of the system (the PCC cars) used foot pedals, and it has remained the same since. The new TINA trams they ordered from Stadler will also be operated that way. As far as I know, HTM is the only tram network in the Netherlands that still does this, the other three (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and Utrecht) use a combined power/brake handle nowadays.
If I remember correctly, the tram drivers didn’t like the hand-operated throttle/brake on the RegioCitadis trams and therefore the newer trams were fitted with the foot pedals.

waarom moet de wissel omgezet worden? het was al in de juiste stand.
Als de matrix niet gaat branden kunnen we er niet zeker van zijn dat het wissel vergrendeld ligt. Daarom moeten we hem met de hand 'resetten' en voelen of er genoeg weerstand is en dat de wisseltongen goed aansluiten. Anders is er een risico op ontsporing.
