I love how the reactions to the tram gong from pedestrians is always to either lazily continue as if the tram wasn't there or immediately run full speed out of the way. Like each person either really cares that they are in the way or they just don't at all and there's nothing in-between.
When you come off the power pedal, does the tram coast or do you get some auto braking? Additionally, where is the emergency brake, is it at the end of the footbrake travel? Thanks for your time. I drive trams in Croydon, South London.
Upon releasing the power pedal, the tram will coast. The emergency brake can be activated by pressing the brake pedal all the way to the bottom. Alternatively, there is also a big red button on the control panel which has the same effect.
@@ItzChickenYall just from watching a lot of his videos, I can answer this. The answer is yes to both. In these videos the route is preset and tracks switch automatically, but he can also use the touch screen on his right to manually set the next switch to go left, right, or center, which he uses when moving the tram to the start of a route or back to the depot.
At the beginning of the ride, the driver sets the route in the board computer. The tram has a transponder on board that automatically programs the next switch to be in the proper alignment for the current route. Of course that can be overridden in case of diversions.
I just love how tram or light rail operators wave to each other or give each other a little toot
Train and bus drivers also do it ;-)
So do high speed train drivers... I can't imagine how they'd notice each other, but they do that wave!

nice to see a modern tram system

Do you have any youtube channel where I could watch your trips or your colleagues?

@@TramMeneerare u able to control which track to go on? Like switch left or right? Or is the route already preset?

A little late but it’s totally understandable, it looks really cool to me too. A nice mix of a train and a bus to be honest
Leuke opname. Bedankt voor het uploaden.
Amazing views. 👍👍👍

Why is a part of the tram track missing there? There are also overhead wires there.
Nice!
14:18 What’s wrong with this switch? It’s like one of the two rails from the other direction just ends before it meets up with the other track.

So the right hand controls the accelorator??
Right foot. These trams utilise foot pedals for engine controller duty
How does the tram turn when the track goes in different directions ? And who switches it ?

Thank you for the info very interesting. Be safe out there.@@MrATimm
We can constantly see this board computer that you were told about in the frame to the right of the driver.
