Obviously, the best way to get to the beach is on the tram. It was amazing seeing all those cars looking and waiting for a place to park. Quick question: when your tram is fully occupied with standing room only passengers, can you feel that extra weight in the performance (acceleration, braking) of the tram? Or is the extra weight insignificant to the performance?
You can definitely feel the difference in the handling of the tram. Accelerating and braking are slower. You can probably perceive the difference in the video from Centraal Station onwards.

I've had the fortune [or maybe misfortune] to use the 9 twice: the first time the tram got part way into the city because a tram in front had been involved in a collision. The second time I tried to board a 9 heading into the city on a similar day to the one being filmed... No chance of me boarding at Madurodam! The walk into the city was quite nice however. It ain’t, if it happens to often people will be reluctant to use public transit. There should be a good balance between de amount of people you transport and the amount of seats there are on a tram. Standing isn’t a problem for many people, but being cramped into a space is.
Is it true that you control the track switches? It seems as if when you flick the switch on your left at 26:51, the track switch signal (at least I suppose that's what it is), lights up and you turn right. Is this the case? and how does this system work with multiple trams behind each other (wanting to go different ways)?
Just came across this video and its fascinating... Quick question though, does it have a ticket system or is it free for everyone? Given the stations are this open and without any gates at all!
Upon entering you have to check-in with your phone (Google pay like) or a chipcard. Most trams have onboard conductors who will routinely check passengers. Before exiting you check-out and the total fare is deducted from your chipcard or bank account.
How do you make turns when there’s a fork in the track? I’ve seen in other videos that there’s a signal prior to a fork that tells you which way to go but does the train make the turn by itself?
I'n not sure I understand your question. Have you never heard about switches? It's a moveable piece of track that directs the vehicle one way or the other. On modern tramroutes, the system recognizes the route the vehicle is on, and switches accordingly. In the old days, the switches had to be changed manually by the driver with a long crowbar.
If you meant how the switches are _controlled_ then the answer is: the tram sends a programmable code out that tells the switch what line the tram is serving and the switch then turns to the correct position automatically (this can be overridden or initiated manually if necessary).
In a perfect world, no. But in realty, it's quite normal to be a few minutes off timetable, especially on a busy day like this one. More passengers, means extended stop time to let people safely in and out of the vehicle.
No, that's the express tram 9S which travels directly from Station HS via Centraal to Scheveningen on warm sunny days. It turns around at the sidings at Wouwermanstraat.
