I build mine just like yours except for on the door frame around the edge I put a piece of Grey tape folded over protects your arms from being cut by the Wire
Why not use an 8' strip of wire for the side wall and bend it at 2 ft corners? Only 1 attachment point, then the top/bottom pieces would certainly keep it all nice and square?
Ir pays to buy the heavy duty J clip pliers rather than the flimsy cheap ones. You hands will thank you in the long run. Having built rabbit cages for years, I know. Also installing a handle on the cage makes goof sense for one handed folks like me for easier transport.
I agree with your comment about the Jclip pliers. Especially the new style they have come out with. Can't stand them. Bought them due to the fact I had lost them. If all goes well (I'll have located the old style)I will have a new pair soon.

This was made from scrap wire from my cage builds. Good idea though!
how do you get your wire so straight and not rolling from being rolled up?
