Can you tell me if there’s a way to keep this car running while you exit it to run into the store? It has shut off on me before
i honestly love the passive aggressiveness with the turn signal. i had a guy in a corvette cut me off and slam on the brakes at a light once, so i got next to him at the next light, and hit him with the "nice car man, shame they couldnt throw in some turn signals for all the money you paid"
That’s great! Thank you for sharing and thank you for doing your part! Lol
Those guys are always the biggest douchbag drivers. Shame for them they are driving a POS GM product lol.
What did he say broo 🤣
Honda for life 🤜🏻🤛🏻
My 2016 lx with the 2.0 still gets over 44 mpg with 150k miles. What an engine! It’s the reason I’m getting a 22 sport for my son.
Thank you for sharing, Greg!
I love that you joke around the turn signals
Thank you!
Yeah!
@@VehicleVisionary of course
I just picked up my 2022 Honda Civic sport hatch manual and I’m very happy with it. Love the power and all the features. Only thing I wish Honda did was take make the front and rear camera into a security camera connected via Wi-Fi as theft feature. Keyless entry worries me but I got the Anti-theft device so I’m not worried about my car getting stolen because it’s a manual.
THank you for taking the time to share, Eric!
Which dealer helped you find the car?
@@geehuang9655 I called a few dealers and one dealership in Stratford Ontario checked the system and found a nearby dealership that had one in sonic grey.
Did you pay msrp or did they raise the price?
Does it sound decent at high RMPs with the 2.0L engine? Also, is there a lot of rev-hang going in second gear from first in a spirited launch?
One of the best reviews, loved the "oh crap handles"
Thank you Ian!
Looks like a good choice with these high gas prices for today.
Nice review! We’ve had our Civic Sport a couple weeks now. Honestly, I love just about everything about it (it would be nice if the Auto Off could be set to off but that’s a nit) As to the CVT…. Durability will be my 👍👎🏻. Performance wise, it’s fine! One thing you didn’t stress was driver room. I’m 6’6” 270# and I have plenty of room. My previous car was a 2002 Jetta. Drove that one 210K! But this Civic is better as far as leg room, head room and width. I do find the rear window a tad restrictive. Not as bad as my wife’s 2000 Eclipse but not the wide open view I had with the Jetta either. That was one thing VW really did right, imo. Overall, to me, this Civic defines “car”. Not luxury car. If I spent more time driving I might want more creature comforts. But we’re older and don’t drive 15k/yr like we used to. Not cargo car. I haul groceries, not construction supplies. Not sport car. I don’t need to burn tires leaving a stop light. Just car. I wanted a car. One that would comfortably and reliably get me from point A to point B and handle my daily needs. This is perfect for that (and it looks great doing it.
Dude I can’t deal with this dude about the blinker😂😂 when he said if you’re wondering how these lights are blinking I’ll show you later, then he says if you get this on your trim level😂😂
I got this exact car over a month ago. 22 Civic Sport Sonic Grey! Paid 24k I like it but it’s a very bumpy ride.
I just picked up the 2022 LX, and it is a pretty stiff ride with louder than expected road noise. BUT! I like it!
Where do you live? My dealership quoted me $27k and another wanted $31k. $24k and SOLD!
@@JanaINJax I think times have changed a bit, or it’s a location thing. I’m in NH and I just got quoted 26k
I wonder how much the 18" wheels factor into the bumpy ride? Did you test drive a lower trim with the 17"?
@@a20somethingyearoldfuck96 I was wondering if it was a location thing, because I would travel if it meant saving a couple grand, lol. I was also wrong about the quotes. Those quotes weren’t for the Sport trim, they were for the LX, which they told me they don’t even sell now.
I personally love the cvt transmissions. A lot of my driving is stop and go and with a regular automatic there is no gear 4.75 let’s say so the automatic transmission would just shift to fifth gear but I would feel the power loss. With cvt the transmission can be on gear 4.75 or so it can be much more accurate to what you need it to do without any hiccups. I always found myself with automatic transmission shifting into the wrong gear or hunting for the right gear which is what cvt solves.
Love that new Honda civic but seeing that auto start stop button is a turn off for me unless you can permanently disable it on settings without having to use the switch.
Thank you for sharing, Diego! It is nice to receive some positive feedback on the CVT.
I'm trading in my 2003 Civic sedan with 288,000+ mi. and getting a 2022 Civic like this. Looking forward to smoother gear shifting. My 2003 Civic lurched at about 40 mph as I slowed. It got pretty old, though I was used to it. My 1989 Civic's hard shifts were enough that I had the dealer look at it soon after purchase. Is it supposed to be this way? Oh yeah, they said. We call that a "positive shift." LOL.
LOL Thank you for sharing, Julianna!
My girlfriend is looking at a civic right now, and this was a great video. Keep it up man.
Thank you, Jake!
Wish dealers would stop price gouging the customer. In my area they want $3k over MSRP.
thats a good deal!
That’s a great deal. Where I live in SoCal they are pricing it 10k over MSRP
@@angelrico9469 Literally an hour ago I bought a new 2022 Civic hatch EX-L for 2k over, couldn't be happier, also in SoCal!
@@TheACCHRM what was the dealers price? And how much did you get for?
@@angelrico9469 it was 2k over MSRP, so right at 30k before tax
Not gonna lie, I own a 2008 civic lx and got to sit in a 2022 civic lx and other than the tech upgrades, it felt nearly the same (meaning it still has that standard civic feel).
It looks like an small accord but I like it
Lovely looking car, I'm jealous my mom just got the 2023 version. Tinted windows are really valuable in this world with bright LED headlights. It can get downright painful in my 2013 Civic (san tinting) just driving at night nowadays, it's like people permanently have their brights on.
I have the civic sport in sonic gray and here in Canada the sport comes with sunroof, dual zone climate control, integrated turn signal mirrors, blind spot monitoring, 60/40 split rear seat with arm rest, 2 rear USB ports, heated seats and heated steering wheel. I paid 29k CAD for mine and I love it.
Thank you for sharing!
That’s 29k all in? I’m being charged 34k :/
@@matthoffman6962 $29,998 all in.
@@TheSladecharlong I'm trying to paid them cash straight up for $34,000 and they wouldn't take it. Did you paid cash or finance?
@@stevenluc6302 financed
This Civic Sport is nice. I like the redesign. But I know other competitors offers more feature content for the money. Honda should've added blindspot monitoring and a sunroof on the Sport trim.
Lol have fun getting anything else
Hyundai gonna lose value quickly same as kia or anything else
@@strawberryfields9041 I was thinking VW Jetta, since the new Civic want to look like it so bad. However, the new Hyundai and Kia are getting very impressive. I rather pay for a nicely equipped car than a poverty spec Honda Civic Sport. Again, no blindspot monitoring and sunroof? Why should I settled for less with this Civic trim?
@@jraheemjefcoat429 lol vw cars are garbage. Honda is the best in terms of resale and reliability. New Hyundai is nice yeah but in 3/4 years it’ll be half the price it is now. Where Honda will be around the same price maybe 3/4 k less if you’re lucky
@@jraheemjefcoat429 2017 Hyundai Elantra 9k right now loll. 2017 civic hovers around 20k
@@strawberryfields9041 I have a 2017 Hyundai Elantra. Love it, by the way. I never thought I will owned one. But what got me the most is the tech features..I wanted a car with a push start, power driver seats, sunroof, blindspot monitoring, and Android Auto and Apple Carplay..My Elantra gives me all of that and more..I looked at Civic and Corolla. The Corolla was just boring and uninspiring to drive..Dealership tried to put me in a 2017 Civic LX and I wasn't having it! I don't do base models..Since you're living under the rock, the chip shortages raised used car prices. My car now is worth almost $20k. I paid $3k less for it 3 years ago. My car is so demand, my local dealership is trying to get me to sale or trade up my car. I never did said I didn't like the new Civic. I just don't like the fact that this particular Civic is missing some key features. Now, let's talk about that..Who wants to pay $24k for a Civic Sport with no sunroof and blindspot monitoring? It's like paying $3k a month for a studio apartment in NY, while I can get a whole 5 bedroom house down South for the same price or less.
Right now you cannot get a good deal on any new car. All dealerships are charging an additional dealer markup of $3000-$4000 or more depending on make and model.
In your opinion, is the ride quality and handling better over the 10th generation Civic? I have a 21 Civic sport hatchback and find the ride quality and handling quite good. I also agree with you that Honda makes one of the best CVT transmissions in the business.
Hi Ken! Thank you for asking. Yes, I do feel that the ride quality and handling is superior on the 11th generation Civic when compared to the tenth generation. The handling is the biggest difference.
Hi Vehicle Visionary! Thanks for your feedback! I will keep that in mind when my lease is up on my 21 Civic as I plan to buy my next Civic when the 2024 comes out. I will decide on the trim after doing more research. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year to you too!
13:55 man described the whole truth in seconds. For sure a person driving 2006 corolla gonna like it.
Wish the dealerships in NJ actually made this car worth a buy. not worth 31k
There are some selling for msrp 27k OTD
My dealer charged me 30k but he also offered a ridiculous amount for my trade-in. 5k more than I paid for it brand new 3 years ago. Honestly I hope the value of my civic keeps going up.
Try Phillipsburg Easton Honda if ur nearby they offer msrp and free maintenance
Infuriates me that there is no blind spot detection on the Sport.
Me too, that’s why I didn’t get Honda Civic Sport, I go different one from other brand.
The CVT is fine but I don't like how it drones when I put it into Sport mode.
I like it own the hatch , only thing I regret is not buying a ex-l or sport touring bc of the 1.5 turbo .
Thank you for sharing!
The 2.0 n/a in the long run,is the best choice. Less stress on the engine.
I got one.And in a couple of months, the computer;started acting up.And they had to reprogram it. I have that same one,the colors nice
Under 25k? My local dealers are selling these for 35k before taxes in california ... 10-15k markup
Wow! It’s a shame to hear that.
Mine comes in the next couple weeks in sonic gray !!! I'm so excited ❤️
Nice! Congratulations on your purchase!
Of course the Civic looks like the Accord. You put a chrome brow over the grill and it’s nearly indistinguishable from the latest refreshed Accord. The entire side profile is from the Accord. My daughter in-law, who is fairly car savy, asked first-thing about my 2022 Civic Sport, “is that an Accord?”
If she's so savvy wouldn't she know it's a civic?
I asked the same thing! I love my Hondas, I've leased them back to back. Although I know an Accord, when I saw the 22 Civic pulling out of the lot, I had to get a closer look to make sure if was a civic!
I haven't seen a civic in Sonic Gray yet, but saw a Passport. In person it looks pretty good. Mauve also looks good in person. Their website has it looking much darker in pics, but it's actually a lot lighter in person.
Nice video review, thanks.
You’re welcome!
The 10th gen civic sport came with 1.5t and about $1,500 less than the 2022
Here in Canada (Quebec) the Sport model has more option, probably to fit our weather, it has a heating steering wheel and a sun roof amongst them, maybe more but I’ll have mine in a few days.. Sonic Gray too ! The I see it the more I love this color !
Also has a sunroof !
I do wish they’d do the heated components in Ohio. We get about as cool around here 👍
just picked up my new 2022 Honda Civic HB sport yesterday . Can't get my lights in front to flicker like that.( not talking about the turn signal)
The flickering is actually due to the shutter speed of the GoPro used to film the video.
Good review, very knowledgeable
Thank you, Edgar!
Hi Guys, I have a question, my 2022 civic sport wipers blade is moves little bit everytime i on/off my car (push the start engine button), does your car do the samething? or maybe there is something wrong with my car? Thank you
My 2018 VW Golf does the same thing. I thought it was odd.
It does that on mine too
Is there a way to COMPLETELY disable lane departure correction? I like to "pick my line" when I'm driving through twisties which means I sometimes intentionally cross over the solid white line on the right. However in my new civic, the car immediately applies brakes and rips the wheel from my hand. It's completely unacceptable. In the settings menus, the options for this feature are Narrow, Normal, Wide, and Warning Only. I put it on warning only but it still does it.
There’s a button for it on the steering wheel it looks like there’s a pokeball in the center of it or at least on my 2022 civic sport
@@andrerule6332 pokeball 😂😂
omg i have the 2017 Civc and they have the lane Key assist and i turn it OFF. at first it helped out a lot in the highway but it gets so dangerous when let’s say there is construction and the lines are all over the place…my car is Key assist is on WILL make my car crash into something bc it’s getting confused on the changes of lanes
Took delivery round five weeks ago and despite a couple of minor factory build quality issues which dealership corrected I like this car a lot, I’ll change the tires when they naturally wear out but noise is not annoying but Honda sure screwed up on the horn, sounds like some kids toy. I detailed this car myself as knew the so called detailing at showrooms are way below what you should get, I also did the ceramic coating myself as paying $1200 on a brand new car is the biggest rip off ever.
Waited 3 months for my 23 2.0 civic got it a week ago
The 2.0L engine is way more reliable than the 1.5T. No big shocker there.
Under $25k not no more at least down her in Cali. I got this exact one reserved for $31k. I been quoted $37k. Crazyyyyyy
Wow! That is crazy for sure.
Wish it had blind spot monitoring
Love the turn signal coment 😂subscribed
👍
I hate the CVT because it’s an instrument of Nanny Big Government.
What happened to the temperature gauge?
Thank you for your review. I may need something good on gas and reliable. Gas is going up up up.
You’re welcome! Thank you for taking the time to watch.
I’m hoping I like the sonic grey Pearl. I have one ordered and never even seen the color in person. I got the touring.
Great choices! Please stop back by after your Civic arrives and let us know what you think.
Maybe you did not notice there is no Temperature Gauge!
I just bought mine, it's the new beautiful Blue. It's been 5 days New and haven't driven it yet......made the mistake of letting my husband drive it!! I Literally had to HIDE my 2 keys from him! So that should tell you it was fun for him to drive. I traded in my Honda S 2000 and during my test drive, I was uneasy with the power steering. It was fun though...
Good choice!
I guess i really overpaid! Got this car at the honda dealership near me for 34k
Yes! MSRP is 25k!!!
But did you get anything extra added with your purchase? MSRP is just simply the car and nothing extra. Yes some people will say getting extra things isn’t worth it. But I got mine for 28k with extended warranties and I got a nice tire replacement plan that I’m going to use the heck out of!
Hmm if you’re in the US I would say so? But on the flip side this car is $35k in Canada and depending on the length of the finance the rates are 3.99-5.99% so you could be paying an additional 9K in interest.
Same but mines also mines comes with a package for new cars
Walked out the door 23 civic sport 27,800 last week. Even I over paid but that’s the times
still getting 19mpg on this exact color and model
Thank you for stopping by and sharing, Dion! I am glad to know you are enjoying your Civic!
@@VehicleVisionary im not
Why does anyone care if the shifter is a stick or button? You touch a few times per day
sport or ex?
Drove this car as a rental last week. Most uncomfortable driving seat ever.
Where are you finding a 2022 civic sport under 25k? I’d like to speak with that dealer lol
Holmes Honda in Shreveport, La.
I don't understand how you came to this determination. For $1600 more MSRP you can get an EX with more horse powers, turbocharged engine, better gas mileage, blind spot sensors, wiper upgrade, heated mirrors, moonroof, etc. The EX is, dollar for dollar, the best value in the 22 lineup.
I completely agree
The Sport Trim will last longer. Honda’s been having an oil dilution problem for sometime and the turbocharge engines already been having issues for 22’. The sport trim in my opinion looks better better overall but it also will last longer.
Anyone has a used 2016 civic you want to sell to me in Ghana ? I have been saving but still haven’t been able to buy one yet.
whats that color?
Sonic Fray
Sheesh people! How many times does Tom need to tell you about your freaking turn signals!
I just paid 29 for my sport 🙄🙄🙄🙄
You must be in the US. It’s 35k in Canada. Out the door price with all the stupid invisitrak, taxes, freight and handling etc charges. Before it’s about 28,800 or so
Honda Automotive is a dead company walking. Honda’s inventory (at least in North America) is down 83 percent. In other words, Honda is running out of cars to sell. Be leery about purchasing anything new from Honda. If it goes under, who’ll honor the warranty?
Does anyone really choose this over the Si?
People who can’t drive manual 🤣
I stalled starting a manual…
@@starlord157 you’ll learn
@@starlord157 if I drive a different vehicle I at least stall it once cause I’m learning the new clutch
Is it worth learning? And by that I mean is CVT that much worse than manual?
My local dealer tried charging me 37k
Sorry to hear that.
Too bad it’s a CVT and no longer comes with a manual transmission. You’re Better off buying a used 2020 with a 6 speed manual.
Not really. Nothing wrong with cvt. If you’re driving an automatic you might as well go for it because the gear shifts are much smoother. However, if you’re going manual you’re going that route for a reason.

Way to many gray cars 👎
While this is true, that sonic grey pearl is dreamy.
