I've been binging '22 civic reviews for the past two weeks before I buy one and I can confidently say this is the best one I've seen. thank you for the in-depth information!
Been watching reviews of this car for days now. And this is the first person to go so in depth. Everyone just talks about the looks. Drives the car, either likes or don't like the 1.5 turbo and that's it. But this review goes in depth. I love it.
I changed my playback speed to 0.75 so I could understand him and it’s almost perfect. A few times toward the end of a scene he starts to sound like Forrest Gump. The content is excellent, but I can’t talk that fast without getting tongue-tied.
Ive been watching tons of vids on the 2022 Civic, and this is hands down the best of the bunch! Fantastic work, love the evident passion, knowledge, and in-depth feature run down. Never stop!! Plus, will always have love for a fellow Texan, especially one in Austin, my fav city :)
The thing that surprised me most about this car is that it doesn't have a sunglasses holder or lighted mirrors on the sun visor because it seems like a pretty basic feature to me. I was a bit disappointed about that but overall the car has a very sleek look and has it's own charm to it! Just got this car as a gift and love it!
I’ve watched so many videos about the civic sport 2022 because I want to buy it this year and you absolutely sold it to me. You explained everything so well I learned sooooo much! THANK YOU🎉 you rock
Thank you for putting the differences between models on the screen! I like your pace too as I also speak fast and people seem too slow for me. I’m subscribing now!
Great review. One recommendation for future videos is maybe go into more detail with the lighting. Headlights, high beams, taillights, turn signals, and even the license plate lights. You touched on it with the drop down of the Sport having auto LED high beams and LED low beams and I believe the rears are LED too, but I feel that extra couple minutes would be helpful! I know I can’t be the only one to convert anything non-LED to LED haha.
The fact that the Sport trim lacks some safety features is a let down. No blindspot monitoring? Why Honda? And why I have to upgrade to an EX to get a sunroof? They should include a Sport trim with some premium package as an option. I can get a 2021 Elantra SEL Premium package around the same price that offers way more features. Including standard wireless Apple Carplay/Android Auto.
My neighbor bought a 2021 model. Overall good, solid car. For me I wish it had a little more get-up-and-go. Not just this model, but also for the touring model.
People often get confused with these two I myself did keyless entry doesn’t mean you can walk up with the key in your pocket and unlock the car that’s smart entry which the sport has I noticed on the Honda website that the lx has keyless entry but not smart entry so you gotta pull your keys out to unlock the car but you don’t have to use a physical key
Weird thing I noticed last night while driving this car is that the lane keeping thing was lit green on the screen and was holding my lane while going only 33 mph. I thought it was strange concidering the Accord and CRV I drive have never did that.
Love the video. Went and test drove one and it had a remote start on it. Was I just lucky or is that not standard? You said you gain remote start going up to the next trim
My wife has the 9-2020 Civic Sport it has most of the same features just layed out different, I personally like the 2020 model better because I wouldn't want the auto Shutdown, I like the 10th gen dashboard and infotainment system layout better, Only because I don't like the screen sticking up like a lot a other brands and this 2022. We have the 6 Speed manual with the 2liter engine, with 3400 miles it getting 35.8 MPG average with the inside temp set at 65'😎👍
Regardless of whether I’ll get the car or not as someone who’s edited before I can respect the skills. A lot of the other car reviews don’t put the effort in so credit where credit is due.
The 10th gen civic is the first car I ever had where I would get complements from complete strangers on the street. The 11th. Gen? I don’t see that happening
Everyone complaining about the speed.. I just got mine and it has as much power as you'd need. If you want more power, it's just for fun and maybe you should look at a car made for that. Not a naturally aspirated 2.0L 4 cyl that gets 30-37 mpg.. < that number goes down with power also 😪
Thanks for the video I just purchased this same vehicle and down sized from a CX-5 somewhat not necessary issue at this time but Lv the look of the civic and would upgrade to the higher level next time. I wish they would add the blindspot monitor feature as standard all other feature are easy to use. Economy and use by a teenage driver was behind this model as this is a third time i thought the civic was a good buy. Hope i'm not wrong thanks for sharing. Insurance is no bargain as same as bigger car.
the people commenting about how the dealership hasnt told them about these features is wild. my dealership went over everything in even less time than this video
Excellent video brother!!! I just picked up my spanking brand new 2022 Honda Civic Sport in lunar silver. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it so much!! Only thing bummed about is I lost my HondaLink app on my 2020 Civic Sport and also disappointed I lost my fog light. No fog lights on my 2022. And now SIRIUSXM. Can I add these features? 1
I like all the different colors, but Aegean Blue Metallic and Sonic Grey Pearl are my favorites. But black looks really nice. In every other color, all the Honda emblems on the Sport shoukd be blacked out, but in black, it would look really cool to have them 24K gold plated including the Honda wheel center logos and wheel lug nuts. The car seat headrests should also have the leatherette covering instead of the cloth.
I noticed some of the remote start systems are not created equal involving distance and obstructions. I've seen owners complain from all across the board from different manufacturers. And not many people mention anything about remote start from apps. The civic doesn't come with any kind of app remote management, but I don't see reviewers mention stuff like that.
Most of the features like being able to start the car from your phone, or control the door locks are typically only on the touring trims. However if you do want to learn more about it here is a link: hondalink.honda.com#/compatibility?year=2022&model=Civic%20Sedan Related to remote start, the system works pretty well. But it is what's called line of sight. Meaning that if you have a lot of structures in front of you such as cement walls in a parking structure it's not going to work nearly as well as if the car was sitting out in the parking lot in open air.
Dang alot has changed since mine. Im gettimg mine today but had a 2008 Honda civic not sport though. I just recently got in a wreck and the insurance wasnt going to pay for it bc it cost more than it was worth so they totaled it. So i had to get a new one and told my dad i wanted a honda civic over Toyota corolla.
Hey Justin, good in-depth review. How about the oil dilution with the 1.5 turbo? Any idea if it still exists with the 2022 model? I know it's too early to ask but I'm not sure if the Honda has fixed it yet or is it simply extending the warranty period?
That issue was fixed 5 years ago. A free software update from the dealer corrected it. It mostly affected cars in colder climates (not many were even experiencing the problem) and it was mostly caused by not letting the car warm up enough before driving, a good habit to get into with any vehicle in negative temperatures. I sell Hondas in Canada. The 1.5 is a solid motor and fun to drive. I always recommend it, if the option fits in the customers budget.
Keyless entry you can use your remote to unlock the car but then you would need to use key to start the car by turning into the ignition. Smart entry you can just put your hand on the handle and then it will sense you have a key on you then the door unlocks and when you start the car, you just press the button as it has push to start button as long as the key is on you in your pocket or purse. I hope you understood this and if you have questions I will be more than happy to elaborate for you further.
I went to multiple dealerships and was never given this much information, let alone in such an efficient and direct way. Thanks for this video.

Justin is a fast talker but his reviews are in depth and excellent.
I listen to most videos at speed 1.25x or 1.5x - I had to go to 0.75x for this video 🤣
The fast talking is my favorite part. I don’t have time to watch videos.

Commenting for the algorithm! best review I've seen so far and love the energy

Just bought a 22 civic hatchback so I really appreciated this review not being about the touring trim lol. Thank you for all the info!
The thing that surprised me most about this car is that it doesn't have a sunglasses holder or lighted mirrors on the sun visor because it seems like a pretty basic feature to me. That black on black is beautiful, sheesh ..wonder what it’ll look like with the hpd package
I just got a black on black 2022 and it's one of the nicest looking vehicles Hondas made in a while I believe.
I'm getting a black sport in a couple weeks. I cannot wait.
Excellent review brother. I think the sport is the one for me since I could live without all the EX features
Justin always has the most in depth reviews 👍🏻
Much appreciated! Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tip on the parking brake being on to set up Apple Car Play. Hopefully my Aegean Blue Sport comes in soon.

Just bought this car in the aegean blue~! GORGEOUS!
I just drove one today and I loved it! Much nicer than the last model.
always great car reviews! thanks!
The interior is awesome sir..
I am a fan of the "si" version of the Civic. It would be nice if Honda brings back Vtec.

I noticed some of the remote start systems are not created equal involving distance and obstructions. I've seen owners complain from all across the board from different manufacturers. the 2021 corolla HP is 139 for the 1.8 engine and 168 for the 2.0 engine, which would make more sense to compare to not the 1.8L.
