I think the filipino loan words from spanish, is sounds like latin american spanish because of galleon trade between manila ang acapulco, also many latino words present in tagalog (filipino based language). Spanish loan words is also rich in other philippines languages, like cebuano, hligaynon, ilocano and others
Just realized that the Filipino language is influenced a lot by colonization - 333 years of spanish rule + 50 years american occupation + hundred of years of chinese influence..whew
It's time to bring Spanish back as one of the official languages in the Philippines and make it a compulsory school subject from preschool until college level.
Why? In what way would speaking Spanish benefit the Philippines? Spain is not a superpower anymore. She hasn't been since the late 1800s. There's no need to suck up to the Spaniards by speaking Spanish.
