- So far I do believe those Accel Spark Plugs were the culprit. Car Is running fine and getting much better fuel economy with the factory spark plugs.

Changing the heat range on the plugs will change timing in the engine. That might be why your oil smells like fuel. Timing change means excessive unburnt fuel.
i had this issue once. i damaged cylinder 1 pigtail. i removed the coil pack while the cable was still connected and I must have over pulled the cable.

I was having same issue. I replaced purge valve. Few months later at 83k miles had a blown head gasket. Cylinder 1 was sucking down coolant.
Got sucker by Ford Motor Company and the dealership that did the work.
Ford told me to bring my car to local dealership to be diagnosed to see if I qualified for financial assistance with repair, Ford would cover 60% of repair cost, if eligible.
Week and 1/2 later and $1,300. Into diagnosis for blown head gasket they said my car was too old, information that would have helful before i brought it to the shittiest Ford dealership on planet Earth.So ended up paying $2,900. for repair. The one bright side is they said they would reimburse me in the event of factory recall. Im sure i will have engine swap done well before that ever happens.
Oh jeez. Sorry to hear that. My Ecoboost spectacularly self destructed at 47k Miles. Ford was no help one bit because the car was modified. It's the first and last Ecoboost Mustang I'll ever buy, and last new Ford I'll ever buy. I've always loved many of Ford's vehicles throughout the decades and I will always love the Mustang, but Ford Motor Company can go suck a fat one. Never again.
Any possibility you could tell me what the firing order is? Cant seem to find correct info online. And im having identical issues, but im not sure which cylinder is #1.
Firing order is 1-3-4-2 and cylinder 1 is the closest to the front of the engine.
Great video. I am going through the same problem, and it started while I was filling up at the pump the other day, and the rpm went up and then down. I cut the car off and it almost wouldn't turn over. New battery installed 6 months ago. It threw a code today, so waiting for the OBD reading to come tomorrow, but going to change the plugs in the morning.
Hopefully new plugs will do the trick!
Could be the evap valve. Mine would want to die after filling up the tank to full.
I prefer cooler plugs during breakins...and swear by double platinums...race proven versus...iridiums.......I've been having issues with stock iridiums...so I'm goin with bosch double platinums.....where I've raced with ngk double platinums.....yes WE must monitor and....watch how long our parts maintain...then we know level of reliability and time for new sets...mini.
How often do you drive that car? Is it a capless system? My capless 2013 SHO misfires if I got a full tank and let it sit for a while. It gets water in the gas. The solution I found is to do 2/3 or less gas. Probably had water in the fuel. Especially if it's got e85 in it, since it's hydroscopic.
The car doesn't sit 😅 I haven't had it a year yet and it's already approaching 17k miles.
Water in the tank could be a reason for some of the small barely noticeable misfires, but definitely wasn't the cause this time around.
Swapping back to the factory spark plugs seemed to fix the problem. The car is running much better now and I haven't noticed a bad misfire or stuttering.
@@KarzKreated Just stick with motorcraft. Accel plugs probably made in CHYNA. I didn't know MSD products are mostly made in China now. Sad man

@@mcf3778 All I know is to make sure to get your stuff from a reputable source. There's a ton of counterfeits out there on plugs. Even if they are made in China which I can't confirm unless I went to a dealer or local oreillys and checked the box. I haven't bought spark plugs for my SHO yet. My Motorcraft filter says made in USA on box bought locally.
Don't buy plugs on Amazon. Most are China counterfeits, lol. LETS GO BRANDON

It did have a strong smell of gas though.

mine smells like gas water with a tinge of oil... i get about 3 table spoons a week when i started using the autostart every morning when its ass cold

Yes. Replacing the spark plugs fixed this particular issue.
I used 87 octane gasoline twice and the misfire failure occurred. The scanner also marked the fuel pressure sensor, which I already changed, but could the gasoline be the cause of the failure?
If you pumped bad gas that had water in it, it definitely can cause misfires. Find a busy gas station and fill up. You can also add a bottle of HEET to the tank to help remove any water.

My best guess is check on Facebook Marketplace, or some of the groups on Facebook. I'm sure you can find them on eBay and possibly new from a Ford parts distributor. For the best price, I'd check on Facebook for a used set.
Mine misfiring on 2 i changed the purge valve spark plugs and coil packs hopefully its not a dam head gasket im getting code p0303

Oh boy. I'm definitely leaning towards the gasket. Did the spark plug from that cylinder look really clean compared to the others?
