In this video, Vicki Butler-Henderson takes the Mugen to the track to find out if all its hardcore credentials are worth the enormous price tag.

This is the car the regular FN2 Type R should have been from the start, apart from a more compliant ride.
It would have been too expensive. The regular FN2 is fine for its time, the biggest misgiving is that it probably should have had more power from factory and an LSD as standard. I guarantee it would have been seen in a much better light if it had even just 212bhp (like the JDM EP3) and had the LSD like the MY09 FN2's received.

To each their own when it comes to buying this over an S2000, but you undeniably get a lot of Vtec, Mugen, and British Tuned Honda.

Well they did release a special edition civic si that featured a specia mugen body kit, but other than that, thats it.

@neostardust Maintenance costs for a Honda are dirt cheap compared to a Porsche or BMW. I'd rather upgrade an STI or Evo.

I wish we had this in North America, let alone Canada...I don't know why everyone else gets this but we don't. We get the mazdaspeed3, Mazdaspeed 6, colbalt ss, dodge caliber srt4 and more, but we rather have this!

the gauges are made by defi for mugen thats why they are expensive

No rice means putting useless 30 inch rims, subwoofers and painting it pearlescent making it all show no go. This is the exact opposite.

normally i would say "hey hows' the wife and kids" but since it's Vicki i will say "hey how's the husband and kids ?" ;o). well on to the car,still needs more power especially for that kind of money.since only 20 will be made you will own something exclusive. it looks great and sounds great but i would probably choose something else for the coin.
not forget that she is a honda fan,in fact she owns a honda s2000......im just saying

Unreal car, sad to see Honda are now selling it. It’s on piston heads at the moment for 45k. Definitely a lot of money but there’s only 20 made and it’s a very special car, definitely one for the true Honda enthusiast. If I had it I definitely would. 👌🏻
They made 200 of these for the uk, not 20. Vicki got that bit wrong. 👍

@@cmcdeevtec lol. You know what Chris, this not the first time I have heard this. Just thought they made the 200m. I have seen the red prototype which had no back seats & a few other mugen bits you don't get on the fn2. You learn something everyday. 👍
@@cmcdeevtec same with crz. I see they made a crz mugen, so you think, oh that sounds good. Then, you find out its not what it says it is. Until you come across the CR-Z Mugen RZ, which how these should have been sold, in the first place.🤔

It does on 2009-2010 models. But yes, 2001-2008 European market cars EP3 and FN2 do not have the LSD.

can fit an LSD to one though.Im thinking of fitting a wavetrac to my FN2. Which is already miles faster in a bend thanks to eibachs and FRS.

sounds good, but that's all it has going for it. to me it looks like an egg laying on its side and with 4 wheels attached. I'll take a 5th gen civic with the d16 or b16 any day.
They released the mugen because the FN2 wasn't good enough for the FD2. It still isn't!
tbh, the wilder and more radial modern design is, the faster it gets old. Bored with current Civic body...

@@projectnorahlyne1018 Not the same, those were Mugen 200's which were the same as CW FN2's, but kitted out in some Mugen body parts. Mechanically the same as the regular FN2 though.

how the fuck do you compare an m3 to a honda unless your a skilled driver youll spin an m3 pushing it not a honda type r and that is a fact a normal driver pushing an m3 is more likely to crash it than a honda
