I drive one of these C43 wagons and it's an experience that makes me smile every day. One thing not mentioned in video is the Performance Exhaust (PE) option. It changes the car's personality completely, and hearing the crackles and pops is something you don't normally associate with "family friendly" wagons. :)
Kan Gill just be careful when you get your car serviced at the dealership. The dealer updated my C43 ECU and it deleted the crackles and pops. Despite arguing with them, they would not/could not revert the update. So my car now sounds like a normal c43 without PE.
I love wagons. My brother still has a Jaguar X-type wagon. It is brilliant. My first experiences with AMG are from those early Miami Vice widebody coupe years... Calling your car “The Hammer”... says it all. Thanks for the video Zack.
I prefer wagons or hatchbacks over sedans most of the time too. Way more practical as you get the space and flexibility of an SUV without the bulk and poorer handling.
I think this is generally speaking a very desirable car! Like in Europe, the S4 is now a diesel, which is fine since nobody bought them anyways but the C43 is the only sporty wagon with a proper exhaust. Even with the newest Euro regulations it’s really cool. And the price isn’t thaaaat bad either... interior is now really on point.
Wagons provide all the space and utility of an SUV but give up some ground clearance and height. The main benefit of a wagon though is lower center of gravity and less mass resulting in better performance ,if that matters. Unfortunately wagons haven't been fashionable for 4 decades. Someday......
Kudos to MB for bringing wagons to Canada! I seem to recall that when this wagon was going to be released MB was talking about releasing a diesel version?
So much better and cooler than any equivalent crossover. There's no reason to get a crossover over this unless you love worse handling, performance, looks and efficiency. I've actually seen a couple on the road and I was really surprised when I saw one the first time because I didn't think the c-class wagon was available in Canada.
The lag is in the transmission more than it is the motor. From a dead stop, the computers are cautiously releasing the clutch peddle. Caution is abandoned with enough (excessive) throttle, that then needs to be backed off once the clutch is fully out. It really helps to pretend you are operating a clutch pedal to appreciate what is happening.
I have a 2019 c43 sedan here in the uk and it's still got great practicality. Can't believe USA dony get the wagon though? Is it because SUVs are so popular over there?
Nice to see a performance wagon review! You should definitely test the new Volvo V60 Polestar Engineered and see how it compares to the Germans in the same space
C class mercs represent a series of significant compromises. The are built and priced for those who want to reach hard for any sort of 3 pointed star badge. The interiors are cramped, they don't get the large high tech very customizable information displays, the audio systems are poor, the interior materials are significantly cheaper with much more plastic... The first real entry level merc in my books is the E Class -- the E450 to be specific.
I don’t understand the followers of these SUV’s are they sheep with no imagination? Wagons are wonderful and of course I have one. BMW 5 series 2007 m package. Can’t think of a better mode of transportation unless it’s a Z4 coupe
I wish we had the S4 or RS4 Avants in Canada, the RS6 is going to be Porsche 911 money and I know that the next is controversial but I find the C class rather ugly as well as very cheaply made, at least in the inside...
@@Motormouth... that’s what I’m saying. The C43 wagon is badass but unless they start offering a C63 wagon, the CLS63 wagon is “The best Mercedes you can’t buy in the USA”.

So AMG say it's an AMG and you disagree? Then you complain how stiff the suspension set up is. A comparison is drawn between the C300 and the 43 . Have you ever driven an AMG would be my question, oh right its not
This is a perfect wagon to be PHEV hybrid. Maybe that would sell in the U.S., especially for the commuters, not performance addicts that want a tougher ride, even though this looks so good.
It's funny that you mention "import costs" as a possible barrier to bring this car to the US. If I remember correctly the C sedan and wagons for the US/Canada are built in America.

C43 wagon is the best car in the Mercedes’ line up. Along with the E63 wagon.
Come on rich folks, start a wagon renaissance at the high end of the market so that eventually the rest of us will get wagons too. @SaveTheWagon
I've got a stage 1 C43 Wagon 2019 . Sounds incredible and 0-60 in 3.50 flat - dragy verified. All weather performance and a big boot.
Which tuner and tune did you go with? Just ECU update that’s it right?

I love wagons !!! I wish I could get a corolla wagon here in Canada
We had two fifth gen(?) KE30, 1978 model Corolla wagons growing up (and my first car was a sixth gen(?) KE70 Corolla sedan).
Great, great review highlighting all the major points in a concise video review.

These looks stunning in person
What I would love to see in this market are available wagons, all the wagons on sale are targeted at rich people.
They need to start offering this car in the US, they are losing many buyers who want a luxury preformance wagon.
Audi's coming, much better .
Shant K audi sucks
My neighbor has the sedan version. This car is FANTASTIC. Except for depreciation.

This is not a dual clutch, a torque converter style transmission. No clutch pack

I would buy this!

Not very well. A lot heavier, slower and more nose heavy. Plus it sounds crap with a 2.0 twin charged .
I wonder how much 18" wheels would help the ride
Want one so bad.. Can't afford anything but a 6-7 year old e63 wagon.. Want new tech
I still own and use an e34 bmw. 😀
BMW actually just scrapped their Apple car play subscription fee, it’s standard now for all 2020 models forward.. so glad I got a 2020 😂
Haven't heard this. Charging for CarPlay was one of BMW's stupider ideas, and they've done plenty of stupid things to annoy customers.
@@OMGWTFLOLSMH Well I guess there's one less thing to annoy customers with now
Nice.
It's ok, if you want to buy a power wagon in the U.S. you can buy the new RS6 Avant
Those are not standard seats.

This Mercedes or the AWD Corolla Hybrid wagon sold overseas?

With BMW and VW no longer bringing touring wagons to Canada, this is one of two German sleighs left.
VW will probably continue the MK8 Golf Wagon in Canada. They sell well here, it would be stupid for them not to.

Point about spending time in stop-go traffic is mute if you get the adaptive cruise control. If you expect to do much of that, get it.
