Rabea totally nailed the Slash tone in this video - and with one of the most affordable LP's available!! Very impressive and inspiring!! Kids, take note... it's not how much you spend, it's how good you are!
christopher suggs well slash did start with a cheap LP clone.
christopher suggs Not really...he would have sounded better if he used the Katana as well. That Sweet Child tone is wayyy too dark.
Necro wolfgang It was a super expensive luthier hand made Les Paul copy
@@JohannesJ7539 Actually, it was a 1959 Les Paul clone that sold for about $5000 in 1985 dollars. He was given a damn fine guitar. He uses that guitar for almost of all his studio work since the AFD recording.
5:02 the guy in the background trying to play November Rain solo killed me.
i think it's Lil Wayne
ahahahahahaha
Oops...
I didn't even notice until I read your comment. That was rough as hell and out of tune to boot!
LOLLLL I swear to GOD I thought that was someone failing violin scales until I saw ur comment and clicked the time stamp I'm like WOW they ARE trying to play november rain xD
Man I actually love the sound of that Les Paul. The bolt on makes the bridge position sound almost Superstrat-like
That's one of my problems with this one the reason I prefer the lt studios a lot more chunky sounds for a few $100 bucks more.
the sweet child solo was by far one of the most emotional takes on it I've ever heard, like hearing slash himself play it
Do 'sound like dragonforce - without busting your fingers'
Joezy dragon force solos aren't that hard lol
Conrad Fincher yeah but through fire and flames is just fast
Would it be possible that when you use modelling amps that contain all of the effects right on the amp, that you show a screenshot of the app with the different settings you used? It would make it a lot easier to "follow along at home" if you're not as great at tweaking settings.
It's a bit criminal that Ritchie Blackmore has still not been done
Wow! Impressive. Almost closer in this vid than the regular "Sounds Like". Really nailed the tones. And great riffing. Makes me GAS for a Code now…
And I will always request Pete Townshend (Live at Leeds) and The Clash (London Calling-era) for a "regular" Sounds like!
No, no, no ... and ... no.
@@cyberspace6174 very constructive criticism
Very close to the sound! Also that les Paul sounds and looks awesome
William Nebreda the only thing about Epiphones I can't stand are the headstocks
Eintrachtminecrafter ye, they're very ugly but, if that's the only real negative then they're still worth it!
William Nebreda I agree and you get used to it
Ii'm really digging those licks being played in the background while you guys were next to the pedal case :)
These guys are getting better and better at this, please could you have a go at Motorhead or Early Ramones! 🎲
Charlie Payne hell yeahhhh!! Id love to see that
Charlie Payne ramones £200
Sorry, but can we all just take a minute to appreciate how much Rabea absolutely smashed that guitar solo! Insanneee!
Sound like John Frusciante or Dorje/Toska under £500 would be very interesting 😃
As usual guys you absolutely smashed it!! Have to say I am loving that Epi Dot! Looks beautiful and sounds great
Sounds like muse by busting the bank
This is the best Sounds Like G&R of the three. Spending more money didn't really get them any closer, this is pretty spot on!
love these videos! would be awesome to see sound like Mark Tremonti for under £500 😊
Con B-H or Sound Like Mark Tremonti BY Busting the Bank, that would be pretty cool to see as well
Will York Music To be honest that would be even better!
I enjoy the videos when you two play together as a two guitar band. Thanks for taking the time.
sound like metallica for under £500 or by busting the bank?
both would be amazing tbh
drop your mids and turn up all the gain, treble and bass. buy a wah pedal. done \m/
Rabea proving that the tone comes from your fingers, I think this also shows how good slash's guitar solos are and how well he chooses the notes
hi guys i'm mat and i'm beer. and this is everyday household items on andertons tv
Harry Souter this made me lol
Sounded pretty good guys well done! Love that wah solo at the end! :) 🤘
Sound like Baroness! Sound like Gojira!!
Both would be awesome :D
Either of these would be soo cool!
jakeybball SOUND LIKE GOJIIIRAAA
I've been asking for Baroness for years, i really hope they do it someday
VIDEO IDEA!
If you could only play though a solid state amp (non valve or profiling) for the rest of your life which amp would you choose, any budget. This amp would be used for playing live and recording.
3:41 "208 squid" - sounds a bit fishy to me. Hope it stays in tuna. Whale, nevermind. How shell I pay if I want to perch-ase?
landypaule much respect for this man 👌🏼
Jake Douglas Looking at your avatar, I guess you play a rock bass or a deep sea bass that really grunt-s in lower frequencies ;-) ....or do you play drum?
Well, read the tidal. I'm not shore you realize it's the best option. It's not like they could crab whatever they wanted to use. The coast of other guitars would just be to high. Still, I bet it's fun to play reefs on it.
God damnit barb! (that's a rooster teeth reference for when one of the people Barbara Dunkelman makes a pun)
You guys sounded brilliant, that solo Rabea was awesome well done. Just absolutely love that Boss Katana.
Sound like Eddie Van Halen!
Marcus Aldred I don’t know what could sound like classic EVH without busting the bank. Modern evh is easy classic tho...
Pleaseeeee
EVH is easy Rabea could slay it no problem
If you got the equipment it IS fucking easy His chords arent anything special, its just the sound he makes
Sound like Eddie? Easy: buy his signature guitar!
Sound like Lynyrd Skynyd. Allen Collins and Gary Rossington to be exact
WHY HASN"T THIS BEEN DONEE
That would be cool! I would like to see them try Gary and Allen, but also do Ed and Steve. To be honest, I don’t think they could pull of Steve because his playing style is what is so hard to get down.
Some ideas to future Sound Like
Grateful Dead (Jerry Garcia)
Mac Demarco
Sleep (Matt Pike)
Elvis Presley
The Doors (Robby Krieger)
i thought that 2nd one was the guitarist from King Crimson, but that's Robert Fripp & Adrian Belew lmao
but can we do a sound like for King Crimson Too?
marcus ravn Would love to see a sounds like for Jerry. Would be fun to see the guys do something so outside of their normal zone.
Very true, and also he is too legendary to not do a sound like with!
marcus ravn Robbie Robertson (The Band), and a bass episode for Rick Danko!
Wow you guys killed it, this might be one of the closest sounding 'Sound like' vids ever, especially during the leads.. spot on
Would you do a sounds like Spinal Tap? If only for the comedy value!
A7X without busting
Metallica by busting / under $500
Periphery without busting
Slipknot by busting
Sounds like Steve vai with and without busting back
Avenged Sevenfold!!!! Still here waiting! Also, Van Halen, Vai, and bonnamassa
Sound like Highly Suspect- one of the best new bands atm, highly recommend checking them out
The slash sound is one of the best sounding imitations I have heard from my speakers. Very well done!
An Epiphone Dot... without dots... qué?
You guys are fantastic players.
That marshall code 50 sounds amazing... Kinda regret buying a dsl40c now because of that amp...
No Potato haaahaha funny
I'm not kidding, I actually have had a dsl40c for about a year now, and I'd rather have that amp for it's versatility, lol.
To each his own i guess
Rabea just nailed it. Sound and note wise. Tasty playing.
Sounds like A7x
And yet they still haven't
The second part of Sweet Child solo (wah part), is with the bottom pick
yes it is, he was supposed to flick the selector switch down
Sound like Russ Parish Fight/Satchel Steel Panther
Slash actually used a modded plexi on appetite for destruction. He hired it and tried to steal it, but I'm sure you already knew that story.
I'd Love to See a "sound like Kiss"
Gibson guitar. Marshall amp. Everything at noon. No effects. Lead singer that sounds like he's yawning. Bitchy bass player. There you go.
Just shows. Talent and hard work beats money every time. Truly impressive
Can you do this for nirvana? Great video as always btw :-)
Marcus Shaw good point, that's a reason why it'd be interesting to see.
They already made a nirvana video
Hayden Haughey I meant for the sub 500
Xandeeno squier bullet mustang, and a Marshall MG50 maybe
The Jagged Ones fender amp better
You guys are two awesome guitar players, you nail every riff right on the head!
Type O Negative!!! How many times do I have to ask! Maybe for a Halloween special?!😘
+1 gonna be hard to get that much saturated distortion on drop tuning on a budget.
brutalbeetle Exactly the challenge
If I recall correctly, the guitar tones were obtained by using a guitar pedal straight into a mixing board. So I guess we might see the first "Sounds Like" with a PA speaker? :)
Let's hope they'll do it.
YES PLEASE
Great job guys! The dot studio sounded great Matt!
The irony is that it's called the dot and it doesn't have a dot inlay
This video featured some of the best Guns 'N Roses covers I ever heard, it was amazingly close soundwise, I literally forgot that this was some budget shootout. You are amazing players.
From what i can tell, these videos sort of prove you don't need an expensive rig for standard rock/metal. I have seen G&R in a stadium and from half a mile away, you would not know what equipment they were using unless you had binoculars.
Even with binoculars you wouldn't be able to see, since they hide everything behind giant LED screens. When I saw then in London a few months back, they used an image of a Slash's Marshall cabs on screens to fake the idea there were cabs onstage haha!
WE NEED MORE! Awesome vid btw👏🏽
Wait.... you're not Matt. And you're not Rabea!!
Lee Anderton Yea, the other guy is definitely the rhythm guitarist of the Rabeatles, but I don't recognize the other guy either...
and this is Andertons TV on Sound Like
And you're not the real Lee Anderton
Lee Anderton capt anderton is lee Anderson
Lee Anderton what's with the account swap 😂
Nailed it guys! That Sweet child o mine solo was spot on.
Sound like Pixies
One of things I love about Sounds Like is seeing new, decent gear and new playable gear that feels well, will last and isn't embarrassing to play.
Sound like scorpions, or do Boston
Rabea's playing always amazes me!
Sound like Megadeth please :D
Rabea's rig sounds spot on!
Sound like without busting the bank...
King Diamond
Judas Priest
Uli Jon Roth
Yngwie Malmsteem
Steve Vai
Scorpions
Greg Howe
Frank Gambale
Dio
Eric Johnson
Megadeth
Ghost
Living Colour
Tony Macalpine
Testament?
Vernon Reid is a challenge not only cos he plays insanely fast and shreds mindlessly, but because he has super expensive guitars like the ESP Cult 86 and his new signature Vela, as well as Mesa amps and hundreds of FX
Rabea! Dude your playing!😳
F***ing awesome feel dude!
Sounds like Lynyrd Skynyrd
Saturday Night Special I was fixing too say that
Ed King
Ed King, Steve Gaines, Allen Collins, and Gary Rossington were(Rossington is only one still in the band) the 4 guitarists for Skynyrd's original recordings back in the 70's, although they all never performed on stage at the same time. King left the band in '75 and was eventually replaced by Gaines about a year later. Then the plane crash in '77 (almost 40 years ago). It would have been awesome to see all 4 of those guys performing on the same stage. Sadly, that never happened that I'm aware of. Personally, I think the best lineup would have been King, Gaines and Collins. I would love to see these guys do a Sounds Like: Skynyrd ! One of my favorite bands of all time.
Saturday Night Special I still want to see them do a sounds like a Miku pedal by busting the bank or using everything at their disposal at Andertons to emulate it
Saturday Night Special :) that would be Awesome I love ♡Lynyrd Skynyrd~ bring back those 70s
Nice to see someone (Rabea) who can actually play the riff from Sweet Child properly! 🙌🏻
Sound like Rammstein
I second this motion.
Funky Monkey1886 i second seconding this notion
Henderson_yay yes please
im not sure they can on the budget they have, Rammstein from what I know of use Mesa Boogie amps I think that would wipe the floor with the budget.
One of the best sounds like I have seen!
Beatles!!!
Sam Brenton
Would be a great episode
Sam Brenton *Rabeatles.
Yeah please
Thatd be interesting since they used such a variety. Itd especially be interesting if they did early beatles, since their instruments have no inexpensive counterparts. (Rickenbacker)
Daniel Jay Houk on a budget all you need is some Epiphone casinos and gretsch electromatics. Vox ac10. Treble booster, compressor, maybe a looper or double tracker.
Rabea is crazy good at guitar, he absolutely nailed all the phrasing in that solo
Looking at that Rickenbacker sound like Motorhead!!!
Sounds like hell yeah guys! Love my lil 25. Katana head is awesome too...
Have you done Rush yet ?
For under £500, its a tall order.
they have for 1500
but i want one for no budget
Yea they have, but it was poor, and they clearly had no interest in The Holy Triumvirate
Please bring this series back!!!
Sounds like The Beatles
And
Sounds like Prince
Please!
Slayed the solo both rhythm and lead
Sound like Dokken please!
That sounds incredibly amazing for under £500. Great videos guys.. I really enjoyed it. Awesomeness
Sound like Metallica by busting the bank PLEASE!!
Nice work again guys!!! I really enjoy these!!!
Sound like Oasis BY Busting the bank.
I thought the tone was spot on, except the lead part's audio quality sounded very digital if you listened closely, but i doubt that it would be noticeable in a full mix. Matt's setup was so good for rhythm, very crunchy and tight.
Type O Negative
Prince
Meshuggah
The Dillinger Escape Plan
So many wishes here xD Just wanted to say really surprised by the tone and awesome playing of you guys! :D
sound like avenged sevenfold please
Yes yes yes plz do this
andrew layyous I've asked on every video for 18 months
Tyler Saltmarsh me to, the more we do it the more likely it will happen
THIS
The sounds are amazing! Top musician. It's all in the fingers and not the credit cards.
Sounds like the Scorpions
It sure does.
The best Under £500 vid so far! You just need way more delay for the Slash part on Welcome To The Jungle. Other than that the tones were spot on. That Katana is KILLER!
VAN HALEN ON A BUDGET PLEASE!!!!!
Man that slash sound is spot on
Sound like megadeth
Yeah🤘🤘🤘
shane brett how much does a white noise machine go for these days 😂
shane brett they have to do Marty and Dave, it's the only way. Although Chris Broderick is on my top five favorite guitarists, he's better in Nevermore and Act of Defiance
The_Swoletatiat kiko loureiro does have a great tone as well, and he's a great guitarist
Yesssss
Absolutely brilliant guys! You should win awards for your excellence
Sounds like Michael Schenker
Thank you, saves me from typing it this time. Also Sounds like the scorpions.
TheYorkshireTom hell yeah hope they do them soon been asking for a while
Yes, please do Michael Schenker!
Sound like my fart.
Germs You may want to see a doctor! LOL
Rabea, Matt, you did a great job in this one. Good tone, nice guitars.
Sound like Mick Ronson
There's something missing with Matt's rig, but Rabea's sounds suprisingly close to the target. Cool challenge!
Sound like jimi hendrix under £500!
Looks like you guys got pretty close. It's amazing what they can do with modeling amps these days - a far cry from what we had before.
Andertons deliberately tries to sell us the Code 50 . But its just not good. The Katana though!
Rafi Kirder code sounds more authentic for this job
Darren Miller see, they sold ya one! :-)
On a serious note, I played both abd the Katana went home with me. Theres no competition.
Rafi Kirder have to disagree, after some time playing with all the settings you can get some great sounds out of the code!
well tone is really a matter of taste, i'm sure the code is a good amp too. but i have to say that i was really impressed by the katana (i think it was the 50), never got such proper and authentic tone out of an amp in this price region.
Katana is probably the best budget/bedroom amp ever....and the head through a big boy high end cab is just epic...some great tones inside
You guys are Amazing !!!!! I have the Les Paul Custom I just have to get the Marshall Amp . Coming Soon , I think I will go with the Half stack and 4×12's .
