lmao
😂😂😂
Joe Wallace My DSL 40 CST performed kidney dialysis last week. Amazing.
Dude, its a really good amp!
Cr*
You should do another series called "sounds like, by busting the bank", same principle, but no budget limit, so you can show us some sweet fancy gear
+Soydementiras Great idea mate !
yes
+max mustermann +1 to this
YES
PLEASE
The Paradise City sound was HUGE.
Goosebumps
that is the shit
jMOPS1993 But he plays the intro wrong :/
and that's from a $55 chorus pedal.
Got to love Tone City.
It was absolutely spot on! Never heard the solo tone so close to the original one ever!
Am I the only one who thinks THEY FUCKING NAILED THE TONE?!?! FML
Fernando Samaniego it just proves mid range guitars and amps improved
no you're not, this video was perfect, probably the 2nd best without busting video they've ever done
Great to see the positive feedback! thanks guys. We really appreciate it.
+Rabea Massaad It was great :)
+Rabea Massaad You and Matt need to both get guitars from now on... I found my self headbanging so much with you that my headphones fell off!
+Rabea Massaad That set up, done at a gig would have blown an audience away with authenticity; I've watched tribute bands that don't get that close.
+Rabea Massaad Really enjoyed that, but i would have the wah in their instead of a talkbox.
It's really nice to see your comfort infront of the camera, I noticed it in your Toska videos but it's a genuine pleasure to watch you work.
dunlop wah is more important than talkbox
Great episode!
I'd love a bass-version of this!
Sound like Geezer Butler, Flea, John Paul Jones, etc. Would be awesome!
Also, Sound like Tony Iommi please!
+Sabush Sabushi I've been commenting the same request!
Why hasn’t this been done yet
Trying to sound like Slash and there's no wah?
On a solo part of Sweet child of mine, there is a wah
@@tieukhavu8832 he also used it on Mr Brownstone for the solo
Blaž Pogačnik maybe it was nit in the budget
I'd say that was close enough for anyone to be happy with.
also, I might just grab one of those chorus boxes, they sound great for the price.
+CSGuitars no one yet?
Colin! I love your videos!
COLIN! wasn't expecting to see you here
haha, the jungle sound is spot on! great job guys
Maybe in your cheap apple earbuds....
@@mcasuse That's a bit rich coming from you, considering you have 0 videos
@@widowmaker5544 you have to remember British people are some how more argumentative than normal people
@@DeadmanRides true
@@DeadmanRides Shut up no we're not come say that to my face big boy
7:23 I like how Jimmy is digging it.
Jimi*
+spindelspott Haha
I though that as I watched it. XD
I would go to the U.K. just to go to anderton's
@Louis Sanderson buy me a guitar there lol
the LP sounds so thin next to the sheraton. anyway i still wanna see SOUND LIKE WEEZER. PINKERTON specifically.
yes!
+Pints of Guinness The Sheraton is blowin its door off !!
WEEZER. YES
=W=
+Pints of Guinness I SECOND THE MOTION!!!!!! (。_。)ノ
Would kill for a tony iommi and randy rhoads episode guys!
YES!
They've done a Randy Rhods with Glenn Fricker ;)
There's a Black Sabbath (Iommi) episode!
Zach Sandstrom who did you kill?
IgglyStuff yes
"I'm playing an Epiphone Les Paul with a built in stand" LMAOOOOOO I died! XD
R.I.P
You guys are nailing all the tones on every show and thanks I enjoy watching them ! Lots of luv from Canada !!
Oh, and the opening riff - man. Nailed it. Well done.
all the yes!!!!!!!! metallica plz?
and that welcome to the intro was perfect in the sound
That sounded great, man. Congrats. Love the channel
I really like how this series is progressing. You are systematically removing the things that I dislike like showing the rig at the start of the video and not going to the shop. Keep up the good work!
Before Slash had his signature pickup he used Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro APH-1 pickups. His signature models are a slightly hotter bigger sounding version of this. Every guitar he records or performs with was fitted with these before his signature set came out.
That intro really was spot on.
Just bought the DSL40! Thanks guys. Don't think I would have without your vids. Sounds amazing. Couldn't be happier. You two are killer. Much appreciated!
In my opinion both those setups were bang on for the money! Killer playing by both you guys as well. I love these "sounds like" budget vids. They show less experienced and strapped for cash players like me how to get there without wasting a bunch of money on unnecessary gear! Keep em coming guys, and thank you so much for putting in the time and effort.
Slash did not have a real true Gibson les Paul on the first album. It was a les Paul replica. He used the Seymour Duncan alnico 2 pro before that first album.
John Heinecke he still does too, if he gets a guitars that’s not collectible he switches them out before he even plugs it in lol
But on the appetite's and Illusion's tour he played stock Les Paul's Standard. And even some factory second.
I'd like to see Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains
yes please the dirt tone would be amazing songs like them bones and stuff
Matt's sound is crazzzy. Love it! BTW you guys really nailed it this time i guess... Good job!
Man. They NAILED this one. Great video!
Sound like The Smashing Pumpkins without busting the bank
It was pretty good i think! Now do Black Sabbath? I mean early Ozzy Sabbath
Keep the vids coming! Great job!
Nailed. It. This is the best one you've done so far.
I really want to see Black Keys, because it would be fun to see how they handle the vintage gear vs. new gear.
+Otso Pänttönen it's a shame they always do the guitar tones from the albums, cause dan's live tone makes my face melt
they did it but i think they should re do it because the effect they used for lonely boy was way of by my standards, they used an EHX Pitchfork as there wasn't any Digitech Whammies left in stock even though i recall there was 4 Whammy DT's at the warehouse during that time it was uploaded and from seeing research Dan used a Boss PS5 but i don't think they make them anymore so the PS6 would've been better
sounds like Van Halen next?
+cornelius larsen Seconded
Great job guys. Love to hear you both play together. Nailed the tones
Nice one guys, always a laugh (and informative) seeing you guys doing these videos. I do think Mtt that your guitar was a bit too loud, but the sound was class
Yeah... that's what it sounds like. Well done!
I haven't watched the video yet but I'm gonna guess that they used the DSL4O again.
+Cesar Issac Mercado I WAS JUST ABOUT TO POST THE SAME EXACT THING
+Ethan Bean Surprised they only used one haha.
+Cesar Issac Mercado You couldn't be more on it, mate.
Absolutely love these videos. You guys are awesome.
your videos are so great. keep up the good work
Slash had the semour's alnico 2 pickups in his original afd les paul tho. It wasn't a standard gibson les paul. It was a luthier made les paul replica with the duncan pickups. Anyways great video guys! Guns N' Roses all the way!
Absolutely nailed this one. What this really brought home to me though was that if you have half decent gear, a good quality amp especially, you can sound like whatever you want with the use of fx and pedals. I'd love to see a video from you guys where you use a tele and make it sound like a Les Paul etc. Just to make people realize you don't need this boutique humbucker or that vintage tweed etc.
cgavin1 Q
This series is awesome guys - thanks!
MAAAN ! This compilation was amazing ! When I watch some GNR covers on youtube I always scold the sound because nobody find the exact tone of Slash, but you did guys !
Great, congrat !
Sound like EVH please!!!!!
Surprisingly close. About as good as it gets. Especially with gear he never really used. Well done.
Very nice job boys, I had the video playing in the background at first and your sound had me fooled. I especially liked the combined sound of you two after the intro.
You guys did an amazing job. I loved how you blurred the gear early on so it was a little bit of a surprise to what you picked.
NAILED THE TONE SOOO WELL!!!
Sounds amazing! Closest one yet maybe!
Superb job as always guys!
you guys always nail it! awesome!
What are the amp settings at on the dsl40?
really nailed this one
Most accurate "sound like" video from you guys I've seen! Amazing!
Again... Pretty well done with the sound! Nice job
Sound like Buckethead! Mesa Triple Rectifier, Stiletto Deuce, Bogner Uberschall, ENGL Powerball - there's some stuff the DSL40 will not sound like. :D
GNR tones were 100% accurate, amazing job!
+Banan yesssss, anything mesa related. because the dsl won't work
2:40 the les paul he recorded appetite with was a chris derrig les paul copy and had seymour duncans in it.
+Filippo Bianco but I have to say, you nailed the Sweet Child tone
in my opinion you guys nailed it ! . Great job putting the Gear together . two thumbs up.
Cool segment. would like to see more of these guys. Great job!
Is there a "sound like Mark Knopfler"?
I would love to see that one :-)
+Freddie Ellis They have done that already. Have a look in the playlist for the video. Thanks for watching.
Awesome, cheers!
+Andertons Music Co can you please do a sounds like on Daron Malakian from SOAD or Cameron Followill/Caleb Followill from Kings of Leon pleaseeeeeee
They've done both!!!
Freddie Ellis swhat really creepy is when i was looking through more sound like videos as soon as i read your comment he appeared 😳😃 lmao
I think that the talk box was the step too far. Really a wah pedal would have been better as Slash uses that on a lot more tracks.
see the BY busting the bank version, they ditched the MXR Talkbox and got a Slash SW95 wah
John Smith they were going to use his current signature wah but they didn't have it in stock
Jeezus... You guys nail all the 'sound like' tones!!! Sweet!
Best sound like video so far! Welcome to the jungle intro sounded awesome.
You got it pretty darn close.
Slash always used Seymour Duncan Alnico 2 Pro pickups and where was the wah??
I just picked up my first bass a few months ago. just stumbled on this channel yesterday. love the content
Great "Sound like", this. You guys normally do a pretty good job but you nailed it this time.
I wish I'd had UA-cam and series like "Sound like" when I was first learning guitar back in the 90's. Guitar Techniques and Total Guitar were pretty good with the CD included but didn't manage to communicate the importance of tone and the different elements of your setup half as well as videos like these do.
There's so much great content out there and this knowledge is so much more accessible the kids learning these days have no excuse for being purveyors of crap tone.
Do some Alice in chains with the talk box!
“How to sound like guns n roses without busting the bank” but he wears a fender shirt
Just kidding good vid and you guys are awesome
this is awesome. the sound was great. im inspired to play again. its been years but I feel the bug. Would love to have heard more of the song played at the end tho. keep it up. im a new fan
Man the Sweet Child o' Mine riffs at the beginning sounded spot on! Especially the Slash part. Well done, thanks for another great video!
Do a Sounds like "Brian May"!
Moses Ramirez that would be hard cuz he made his own guitar when he was younger
Considering Brian May sells his own signature guitars starting at about £650, and it's well known he uses a Vox AC-30 with a treble booster, there's not much point in them doing a video when people already know how.
Lucky for you, there is one
Sounds like Misha Mansoor!
Yes!!!
Get an Axe Fx
+Eddie's Guitars I'll say it a million times to a million people, it's the technique of playing that gets you that sound. Gear only helps to a certain extent
+SteveOTheMan16 Good luck getting that sound on a DSL40 with no pedals and a Epiphone then! :)
+SteveOTheMan16 It's just for fun to see how the guys could come up with a Periphery type tone without using a Axe FX, Kemper, or Pod.
An actual amp paired with pedals is what I'm trying to say.
With the gear that you guys used, listening through headphones, having devoured that album countless times, I can say that that was pretty f*cking impressive. To me they were all spot on! Love the videos guys, keep it up!
Honestly you guys have the best music channels and series. Thank you for letting me have the College room diet of Guitar gear
Please do def leppard I love the Bands tone in the hysteria era and I think Steve Clarks may be a difficult one to get.
Yes that would be a good idea. please do Def Leppard
Yes please
The album mostly wasn't recorded from live amps. Blackstar have recently done a Hysteria mini amp it would be interesting to know if it's close. Live they used Marshalls and Randall amps.
The only amp that will give you that tone is the rockman amp
Sounded amazing! now try sounding like George Lynch (Dokken)!
Brilliant video, you guys are great! :)
Sounds great!! Good job guys.
I'd love to see a sounds like video for Slash's solo work, apocalyptic love album definitely. His tone is unbelievable on that record.
Top work guys. Love these videos. How's about one for Avenged Sevenfold? Would live to see Zacky Vengeance & Synyster Gates' rigs on a budget. 🤘🏻🎸
You guys nailed this tone! Crazy how amazing it sounds!
You guys convinced me through many a sounds like video to switch to the dsl40c. I was using a Marshall solid stat cab and head and wanted to switch to tube amps. I am extremely pleased with my set up now! Love my DSL40C! Best bang for your buck out there!
Bloody hell! Sweet child of mine sounded insane! So, close to the real thing!
+Stuart Carden cheers man! so glad this one came out well!!
+Stuart Carden Neck pickups baby!
Damn that paradise city rendition sounds sick!
I think you guys nailed this one. Great job!
Whoa!!! you guys kicked ass on this one .....or rather .... "kicked arse"!!! Amazing stuff, keep it going, Matt & Rabea, how about a "Sounds Like " for Mick Ralphs and Rick Parfitt!!!
Sound like lil wayne? The tone on 'Leather so soft' is absolutely insane!
+Kyle Marcus Imlah I see what you did there :D
Sound like Pearl Jam's Mike McCready and Stone Gossard.
Nice job. Almost spot on. Judging from the Sweet Child intro the neck pickups could do with a little less attack and little more midrange but I couldn't have guessed it wasn't Slash's rig with Slash playing it himself without the video, so awesome.
I’m loving this show, I will definitely be buying an Epiphone Les Paul soon thanks to y’all. Keep it up!
Waiting on the Tony Iommi episode!
Do the Eddie Van Halen "Brown Sound".
You guys do a great job on these videos, I always look forward to the next one. I'd love to see a randy Rhodes episode.
AWESOME JOB KEEP UP THE WORK BROS
SOUNDS LIKE ANDY SUMMERS!!!!
Best one so far for me, Randy Rhoads would be great now!
Another great episode! Sounds like Bloc Party!!!
great job sounded awesome!Make sure you guys are pullin for the CRIMSON TIDE!!!!
