@dlockpoint those discs are just licenses. You don't own the actual game..most of those discs dont even have the game on it and the ones thst do are still copied/run entirely on the console
@@dlockpointyou do know that you agree to terms of services that literally say “You don’t own your account and that you are just using a service/servers that you can be banned off without any reason”(in legal speak) right? If a game has a DRM (requires internet access and account) the physical copy is useless without internet/account. A physical game without a day 1 patch is many times, completely unplayable. You really don’t own games anymore.
Finally finished it earlier today. Some really frustrating missions, but the gameplay, world and story overall make it worth suffering through. Probably my favourite game in the series!
I really valued the completion stats in the end of an episode. How many hours played, how many crucial items were collected, some descriptions of the main completion challenges. It really helped put things into perspective and I feel its abscence in the last few episodes.

There definitely seem to be drop in the scope of the videos' writing and editing but adding those stats is a simple matter and should not be affected by the lack of professional editor or extra writers. They could be simple text on the screen or even just read. Will still be welcome.
@@nerdzone It's likely an issue with UA-cam's algorithm showing them drop-off rates at certain points in older videos with those stats included. I think it's also likely the same reason the intro is gone as well, because it probably causes viewer retention to drop off and they obviously can't afford losing viewers and engagement since that's how their monetization is determined by UA-cam.
@macintoshexplorer Losing employees wouldn't cause him to be unable to record his completion stats, considering he was recording a lot of that stuff even before his company had many employees. Again the easiest explanation is them trying to work the UA-cam Algorithm to keep retention.
I personally enjoy Jirard’s voiceovers and never cared about him as a person, he’s just got a pleasant delivery. With that in mind I’ll keep watching if we keeps creating. More power to those who can’t abide but as super casual viewer, it’s whatever.
To anyone willing to give this game a try for the first time DO NOT buy the Steam version. As of 2023, Ubisoft severely broke the game with a surprise update (you can only play in windowed mode, for example). I recommend, instead, getting the Switch "Rebels Collection" which has all the DLC for Black Flag and AC Rogue.
meh, I wouldn't recommend completing Rogue. the story is not good, and it's half as long as Black Flag. but it has the same number of collectibles. so the balance of running around finding stuff vs doing missions is very off.
Absolutely loved this game. Singing along with the crew. The beautiful sunsets and the terrifying storms and crashing waves. So incredibly immersive. I wish I could experience something like that again.

Can’t remember the details because it’s been a few years, but I got stuck on a mission where I was supposed to sneakily follow someone in my ship. Couldn’t get past that, and eventually never went back to the game. I remember really enjoying the game though, especially attacking the bases with my pirate ship.
Still to this day my favorite assassins creed game. I brought it on sale a while ago and it’s just as fun as I remember being when I was a kid. I have a lot of memories of going to my friends house and playing black flag with him for hours while we sung the sea shanties along with the game
Assassin's Creed Black Flag always looked like a hell of a good time to me, but I never really got into the Assassin's Creed series as a whole, so I've yet to really dive into it. Naval combat, or ship to ship combat in general has always held my attention, and been exceptionally fun, even if I'm probably not the greatest at operating things with a ton of moving parts to em, but all the same, the spectacle and feel of having a giant vessel bombarding an enemy into oblivion, is a ton of fun. All that aside, great episode, Jirard. Looking forward to the next one my guy.
At this point in anno 2024 I would say wait until February and then play Skull & Bones. I played the closed beta in December 2023 and I can say it's absolutely great fun, even without multiplayer. You'll still encounter some other players and from time to time you sail by a fort or such and suddenly you have a group of 5 ships shelling the fort to smithereens. Very ad-hoc and people were very supportive. Respected the pirate code to not shoot each other as well.
One of the few games that I've had the pleasure of almost completing myself, but I couldn't because I didn't have Xbox live and some of the achievements and unlockables were locked behind Uplay and the multiplayer. Yeah, I love this game, it's one of the final good Assassin's Creed games, but it really is a "Finish It", the completion process is definitely more of a chore than it is a fun challenge. Still, was fun to complete what I could of it.
I never played the AC games when they first came out but in recent years I caught up on AC 1-3, so Black Flag will be next for me. By the way, there was already an open world pirate game one year before Black Flag, called Risen 2. It's from the studio that made the Gothic games, which are very iconic games in parts of Europe. Sadly Risen 2 is said to not be very good though, so only look into it if you really want to try another pirate game.
Yeah, trying to get all trophies/achievements for this game nowadays is absolutely rough. I hear the PS3/Xbox 360 version is broken, but wasn’t going to stack it anyway. 100% on the PS4 version was annoying enough.
AC4: Black Flag is my 2nd favorite AC title, right behind AC2: Brotherhood, the Ship Battles are great, the exploration is fun and when i'm sailing to and fro, i can take in the sounds of the sea and the shanties that the crew fills the air with.

Pirate games are the next best evolution of survival games, but we can't ever get a good pirate game. AC:BF is the best pirate game, and that's sad sense it's been so long.
It really shocked me how this was the highest selling AC game, considering how lukewarm the reception of the previous AC games was. But overall, yes, this contends with Assassin's Creed 2 as the fan favorite.
The only Assassins Creed game I’ve never played and but have always wanted to play. The multiplayer aspect of the game and achievements attached to it has always been the reason I’ve never done it. Grinding for hours in an otherwise limited mode is not my idea of time well spent. Hopefully they do remake/remaster it without the multiplayer aspect.
Intros in youtube videos are detrimental to channels. Some like it, but stats show majority want to get right to the action. So it's most likely dropped for the health of the episodes.
I played on the Wii-U, where the "Companion App" was built in. I remember thinking everyone saying the gamepad was useless while Ubisoft made a phone app to do what the Wii-U gamepad did.
Black Flag is one of my favorite games of all time. Pirates of the Caribbean got me and my brother hyped for it and it was one of the first games we got outside of the Uncharted series and some others on the PS4. Incredible game that I plan to play again sometime.
I honestly couldn't get as much into this because of the ship tailing missions. Plus I'm not as big on the ship gameplay as I am on being the crazy parkouring assassin.

I'm on my fifth 100% playthrough in the past two years on Switch. Favorite game of all time easily.

PS3 version online is completely jacked up. I managed to unlock that community sharing trophy just before it became unobtainable so I got lucky.

I played this as part of the Rebel Collection on the Switch. That version completely git rid of online play, so completing it wasnt bad.

As a fan of pirate media, the One Piece live action had a similar sort of visual tone to the PotC films. Recommended.

I loved the Origin's trilogy, and I've been playing AC since 2007, but out of all of em, Black Flag is my favorite.
