    Yes girl I needed this ! I am the same, I've been doing my own hair since I was 14 so I like to switch it up a lot. So now with the starter locks I feel soo stuck and bored. I am almost 2 months locked and my hair is interlocked so I feel like my roots are sturdy enough to try a protective style now.

    Hey! So you didn’t have any issues with your hair expanding/thickening up? I just started my second set and worry about the protective styles smooshing or contracting my locs making them look thin

      @@AD-cs6rp I didn’t experience any issues with the protective styles contracting or smooshing my locs, but it’s important to be careful when wrapping your locs or braiding/twisting them. I would say never style them too tightly, and do not keep the protective style in longer than 8 weeks. I also only styled my locs for the first 2 years and I would take short breaks in between styles so that my locs can breath and thicken up.

    My small to medium size locs are 6 yrs old. I'll be trying out for the 1st time faux blonde locs (kinda getting that Chloe blonde look). I will be getting them two strand twists, then add the blonde to it. How long do you think I should keep it in for? Should it still be 2-3 months?

      that’s a good question, I would say 2-3 months is perfect time for any protective style, but if you plan on wetting/washing them, I would say the less time they’re in is better to make sure none of your locs start forming together.

    Hey girl, great video very informative 💌
    I was wondering if it's okayy to do butterfly locs over starter locs, I wanted to combine 2 of my locs and then one one butterfly loc, do you think if I do that the locs will end up marrying..

    • @melindamchunu
      @melindamchunu Рік тому

      I have 3 month old locs and they're not fully mature so I'm scared that they'll start marrying if I put them in twists than I put the butterfly locs over that

      hey, thank you! I don’t think your locs will end up marrying. I’ve never had that problem, but I would say it depends on how long you plan to keep you butterfly locs and if you plan on wetting them or washing them because that could impact if your locs stick together underneath.
