    Been using these shoes for a week or so on or off mixed with my metcon 6 and 7. I don’t know if I’d suggest lifting very heavy in them, but running in them is pretty phenomenal (for being a crosstrainer) and doing body weight movement of gymnastics movements, you feel pretty solid. So, something like Murph, this would be a fantastic option. But in terms of heavy lifting workouts or anything like that, stick with the Metcon 6 or 7 or potentially 8. Most CF workouts fall into the range where these would be a solid option, as Joel said at the end.

    Joel found the fix to the squeaky insert. It’s sad to say we have to do this considering the show is $150 but you have to wrap the insert with athletic tape. Completely cover the bottom and the sides of the white material of the insert and problem solved. Just tried it and issues gone.

    Nike Should have followed up on the metcon flyknit 3 , does were pretty good for running and jumping. Hope they get new colors for these the turbos where ok but the thin insoles upfront.

    I just got this shoe and I feel like the construction is weird. The outsole and insole being separate entities makes it feel a little insecure. I feel a “squeak” as I walk and I can feel the insole and outsole moving separately. Does this ever go away? I wanted the Metcon 7 but at 13 there aren’t many options these days, the 8 imo is just ugly. Would the Free Metcon 4 be better? I am not doing much heavy lifting and I’m not a traditional cross fitter but I do want a stable training shoe to train for Spartans.

    Hello,
    Thank you for the review😊
    I am currently training with the metcon 6 and I wanted to know if the metcon turbo zoom was more interesting in terms of cushioning, because I have somewhat fragile knees.
    Thank you

    what is the support for the lateral move? since it is the knit in the toe area, i think this area doesn't provide enough support.

    How would you compare these to the Inov-8 F-lite 235? Esp when it comes to running and squatting :) Thanks for the review

    For deadlifts, squats, and other exercise, which is better? Metcons or nanos? And what specific shoes? Thanks

    Hiii Joel would you say this shoe is better for jump + vertical training/sprints/lifting over the newer Nike Air Zoom Trainer 1? These genuinely seem better for what I need after listening to u but idk lol great review btw

    The noise has been one big reason I have not chosen any new Nike Metcons.

    I don’t mean to be negative in the comments, but these shoes were down right unsafe when I used them. Any sort of lifting, your feet will slip and slide around as the insole is literally the outsole. Construction of the show is below par. The hell looks like it’s pasted on also. Returned mine after 2 work outs. Get the metcons or nanos

      Didn't have any of these issues personally. Best shoes I've ever owned, Metcons included

    is this better than metcon 7 and the future metcon 8? i dont think so

  • @seraphoem
    @seraphoem 2 роки тому +4

    Certainly looks like a viable daily driver. Just hope mainstream brands slow down on the price increases, as ₱8,000+/$160 just hurts when my budget for shoes is usually about 50-60% of that.

      I think the overall progress in Crossfit shoes has been so slow that you can comfortably buy the older editions when they go on sale. If you can find last year's Metcon Turbo at 40% off it's a no-brainer imo.

    Im sold! metcon 2 it is over metcon 7 which seem like a clunky painful lifting shoe to wear day 2 day! Cuz i wear sneakers inside gym and outside day 2 day i need flexibility. thankyou!

  • @WRXless17

  • @joettran

    Have always worn Nanos b/c of flat, wide feet. With these being wider, is the arch minimal or prominent?

  • @Aaron-sv1rm

    These shoes are definitely good for the person that likes to do mix in running (treadmill work) with light lifting and calisthenics. If you are more of a lifter, I would go with something else. These shoes are very comfortable and you will definitely find yourself wearing them outside of the gym for an extended length of time, unlike other shoes that are dedicated for gym use only.

      Thoughts on these as a training shoe for field athletes?

    • @Aaron-sv1rm
      @Aaron-sv1rm Рік тому

      @samwroblewski748 No, not enough cushion. These are indoor shoes (carpet, hard tile, rubber floor). I wouldn't rely on these shoes for outdoor use. Not enough traction - I would go with the Metcon 5 Free shoe.

    so i am new to these shoes.... are the midsoles supposed to just come right out? I have never had a shoe that did this. Thanks for the help!

    • @AMRAP
      @AMRAP  9 місяців тому

      Yessir. These have a drop in midsole. The idea is that you’d be able to swap them out and not have to worry about durability issues since it’s not exposed.
