  • A lesser known but important battle of the Peninsula Campaign of May 1862. This battle took place on the James River, eight (8) miles South of Richmond, VA. Five (5) Union (US Navy) vessels set their sights on the confederate capital of Richmond and faced fierce opposition at Drewry's Bluff (Fort Darling). Discussion includes the CSS Virginia and the role that it played in the battle and the larger campaign.
