Fantastic video. My wife and I were able to visit the North Anna Battlefield about 7 years ago and really enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing this and thank you for having Mr. Krick along. You folks make learning about these fields of battle very interesting.

I think it’s important to realize that even though Grant and Meade verbally sniper at each other it wasn’t personal. It was because they both realized that this campaign would be the greatest test of the war. Lee also showed this stress with his treatment of AP Hill. All the chips were on the table and they knew it.

Very nice presentation! Thanks for the human interest stories, especially that about Alexander. I know it's quite a job putting these videos together, and many of us appreciate it.

In the early to mid 1990’s, I attended a reenactment of the battle of North Anna. I have no idea where the even was held exactly but it was within walking distance of original earth works.

I kind of wished I had watched this prior to taking a tour with the MV Civil War Roundtable led by Rob Orrison and Dan Welsh back in June, just to have some background. Both the tour and this video were great!

Kricks recount of the former third lll corps absorbed now ll Corps attack in the Ford and fort is very interesting! The fox house Ellington is interesting also abandoned law to be a teacher...this reminds me of the boys academy featured in the Horse soldiers film. Dysentery and buttermilk poor Gen Lee, the confederates troops crowded the spot outside the house.Gary's reenactment was classic. 17 the Maine we're they not also known as a Maine heavy artillery/ INF regt?

Beautiful property so glad it was saved. So when are a group of volunteers gona get together and clear Telegraph road down to the river ? I've been through there a few times over the years, would be a cool project.

Grant and his experience in Vicksburg and Chattanooga change things to taking territory, establishing supply, repeat, using siege and cutting off supply to move forward. The old model was to go into enemy territory, fight a battle, them retreat to the other side of the Potomac or attrition through battle. Was it pre Civil War strategies or lack of men and material to push the front.

That large tree behind, to the right,
Is that where the picture was taken of Grant sitting with his generals on the church pews ??? Underneath the shade of a shady tree. Thanks

Somewhat of a disappointment. I would recommend that you use animated maps to better educate and develop a deeper understanding of your story for your viewers. Interesting that you talk about how the lousy maps created problems for Union generals, yet you fail to use maps to illuminate and deconfuse the same for viewers of your UA-cam video.
