Great laydown and framework to start for blue. You could do one for red and green as you build out the world/ scenario. I like how you touch on some strategic aspects and move between operational and tactical. Recommend you build in threads to pull on later as you go. - depending on how deep you want to go, you could start adding characters and personalities (i.e. who's the CAN NADC CDR) with back story to give it a personal feel, but might be too much and not what you're going for.

The usurping criminals are under criminal proceedings for robbery, so their arguments are neither morally nor ethically valid, nor do they conform to UN resolutions. Argentina is in the process of recovering the Malvinas Islands, in 1982 there has been an act in such a sense that although it has been the most visible, we must remember that it is not the first nor the last. Argentina is the 8th largest country in the world, which is home to many Argentine citizens native to the Malvinas Islands who have been expelled from that territory by the current gang of criminals that occupies it. There are also thousands of descendants of natives living in Argentina who are violently exiled for declaring themselves Argentines. All the parents of the occupants of the Malvinas Islands have married on the Argentine mainland and have all their relatives living on the Argentine mainland. All of them, thousands and thousands, are not allowed any right of expression and have been excluded and INVISIBLE from the entire FALSE English narrative of false elections. As if the criminals could also keep the stolen goods. Hopefully when the nuclear war breaks out with China and Russia, etc.. come as they have done in every world war to Argentina that will give them shelter as it has always done.🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷❤❤❤❤🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷

Don't be embarrased please. It was a lot more complicated than that. Have you read the book or seen the film 'Missing' with Sissy Spacek? 1973 and U.S. influence in South American affairs starting in Chile, Allende, Pinochet and all. Ironically (?) the film was released in February 1982 , 2 months before the invasion. The USA was between a rock and a hard place. Jean Kirkpatrick, Ronald Reagan's foreign policy advisor supported authoritarian governments as long as they followed US 'advice'. The Falklands War was the last thing the U.S. government wanted. Haig was just a figurehead and the public face of intermediacy. He did his job while the real work was being done. 🙂

@@lukemcgahern2357 It´s not funny. Argentina did NOT "conquer" but "recovered" our own territory occupied by the UK in 1833 when the latter invaded and expelled our governor and our settlers. It didn´t "attack" since it didn´t kill or mistreat kelpers or British soldiers. (The amphibious commandos had express orders not to cause casualties to the Royal Marines). And they complied with it. If Argentina had wanted the war then it should have exterminated those 100 Royal Marines and expelled all the kelpers. Wait until the end of the year for Thatcher to sell her aircraft carriers and to receive the other 5 Exocets. But you sank the Crucero Belgrano and so we had to fight. They should not have spent more than 150 years of uninterrupted possession in 1982 and they did not. There is no current international legal backing to legitimise their occupation of our territory.

@@magolandia1 the first reported sighting was by English navigator Captain John Davis in 1592. the Islands were entirely unoccupied until 1765, when they were first claimed by the British who established a garrison at Port Egmont. Over the years, the British, French and Spanish periodically had garrisons within the Islands until 1811 when all were withdrawn. On 6 October 1832, an Argentine military garrison arrived in an attempt to establish sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, disregarding the British claim of 67 years prior. Less than three months later, on 2 January 1833, the Royal Navy evicted the military base with no loss of life. The civilian population, who had sought permission from Britain to live there, were invited to stay. A year later, a small, permanent British administration was established and in 1845 Stanley become the capital. Hahaha you did not “mistreat” the islanders or soldiers? I would call mounting an amphibious invasion then attempting to kill naval party 8901 and Falklands defence force mistreating the kelpers and soldiers. You dissolved there democratic government. Let’s list what else you did ,you renamed the islands and it capital city after your own country and make the kelpers speak Spanish all of which is an attack on there culture ,identity and history. You banned there flag and outlawed the Falklands defence force and made resistance and owning firearms a crime. identification papers, curfews, compulsory blackouts, confiscation of radios and cameras, requisitioning of Land-Rover 4x4 vehicles and soldiers breaking into abandoned houses to steal furniture to use as firewood. Residents considered critical of the Argentines were expelled from the islands. This included Bill Luxton whose family had been resident in the Falklands since the 1840s and the editor of the Falkland Islands Times David Colville. This proved embarrassing in the international press and so 14 residents of Stanley considered to be potential troublemakers were imprisoned and were sent to Fox Bay East and placed under house arrest. 114 inhabitants of Goose Green were imprisoned in the social hall until released by the British following the Battle of Goose Green. Major Patricio Dowling, an Argentine of Irish origin, became the chief of police. He frequently overstepped his authority, ignoring instructions to treat the islanders with respect, and quickly became known throughout the islands for his tendency to resort to violence. Dowling imposed a regime of arbitrary house searches, arrests and questioning. His actions came to the attention of Comodoro Carlos Bloomer-Reeve who recommended to Brigadier-General Menéndez that he be removed and he was subsequently sent back to the mainland in disgrace. Argentine officers did steal civilian property at Goose Green following the detention of the civilian population

@@lukemcgahern2357 The first occupier of the Malvinas Islands was the Frenchman Louis Antoine de Bougainville, who established a colony on Soledad Island. When Spain learned of the French presence in the Malvinas, it protested and demanded its surrender. The two countries were bound by the Family Pact. The Marquis de Grimaldi demanded that his French counterpart, the Duke de Choiseul, hand over the colony, Port Louis. Choiseul agreed and ordered Bougainville to arrange the transfer of the colony in Madrid. The transfer of the colony took place on 1 April 1767 and Felipe Ruiz Puente was appointed as the first Spanish governor of the islands, dependent on the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata. From 1767 there had been a continuous exercise of Spanish jurisdiction through a succession of 32 resident governors in the islands, dependent on Buenos Aires, until 1811 when Spain withdrew the garrison (leaving signs of possession) in the context of the War of Independence in the Río de la Plata.

In 1764 the United Kingdom decided to undertake an expedition to the Falkland Islands, which was conducted with the utmost secrecy to avoid further Spanish protests. The expedition was led by John Byron, and the crew only learned of their true destination when they left their last port of call in Brazil. On 11 January 1765 he sighted Gran Malvina Island and established his provisional base at a place he named Port Egmont, after the then First Lord of the Admiralty. Byron made no settlement, leaving only a small orchard which would later be used as proof of possession.

Because Argentina always claimed the Malvinas Islands and Great Britain never sat down to negotiate. UN Resolution 1514 In its sixth paragraph, referring to the principle of territorial integrity, the resolution establishes that "any attempt aimed at the partial or total disruption of the national unity and territorial integrity of a country is incompatible with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations", establishing a clear position that where the territorial integrity of States is at risk, the application of self-determination should not be resorted to.

UN Resolution 2065 On December 16, 1965, the General Assembly adopted resolution 2065 -the first one exclusively referring to the Malvinas Question-, through which it recognized the existence of a sovereignty dispute between Argentina and the United Kingdom and invited both countries to negotiate in order to find a peaceful solution to the controversy. The importance of this resolution lies in the fact that it establishes the essential elements that define the Question and - consequently - the way in which it should be solved. These are: That the case of the Malvinas Islands is one of the forms of colonialism that must be put to an end. That this case involves a sovereignty dispute between the Argentine and British governments. That the way to find a solution is through bilateral negotiations between both governments. These negotiations should take into account the principles and purposes of the Charter and resolution 1514 (XV), as well as the interests of the population of the islands. It is important to note that resolution 2065 (XX) indicates that in the negotiations to find a solution to the dispute, the interests of the inhabitants of the islands must be taken into account, and not their wishes, excluding the application of self-determination in this particular case.

Observations - and maybe info - The Rapier was a new system. So it had its own teething troubles -- But IIRC it was stored on deck - and despite some mitigations - it landed with basically salt water issues, corrosion or intrusion. The people who knew the system asked for this not to happen, but it did. The AA picket line had moderate success, but as with many cases in warfare through the missile age - they found lots of issues. Although they had missiles, many people don't understand the fleet makeup that had limits. The bulk of the fleet where it was modern, was broadly an ASW fleet of ships charged with guarding the Iceland gap. So these ships while they had AA, were not fundamentally suited to the now different fight. The ships that leaned more to AA work were operationally unsuited to it. The non AA ships had the better Sea Wolf and Sea Dart. The AA ships by their design had the unfit seaslug and seacat systems. A lot of old ships like the leander class were in fleet, but were not in a sense modern to a level useful in an AA role. The RN did have the 4.5" gun, and provided naval gunfire through the campaign. The Harrier force by the way -- still under rated for what they actually did, and they could not cover all the areas - had an astounding service availability record. If I remember rightly, the techs on the carriers and in the landing areas had them in the very high 90% area. That in itself was a staggering effort. In a contest where at least contesting air space was super critical, the UK had the right planes - at the right times. The go anywhere, land anywhere, fight anywhere little plane that could. Pre war - people mooted things like 50k ft and Mach 2, but no fighting, or very very little happens in this area. And low down, in harrier space, the reality is mach 1 is hard to reach, and if you get into a turning fight, you lose energy. The harrier was small, low relative weight, very high thrust for its frame, and high accleration - albeit to a low tops speed. But as I say, the top speed at sea level is very different from 50k feet, no matter what plane is in discussion. The Harrier has since then served faithfully for decades, and the UK (IMHO) has errored in firstly not developing it further, and in retiring it. The giant 2 carriers the UK fundamentally can't afford, could have been smaller ships - perhaps larger through deck ships a bit larger than invinsible class. The F35 is a white elephant - tarmac princess. The brits made good use of their kit, some of which was either unsuitable, or not suitable - but did it anyway. Its a history and logistics and battle that will be studied - and should be studied by anyone interested in the areas.

They did not surrender immediately.. There was a gun battle and men died in it before the surrender.. Why on earth start a video on the war and stuff up within the first few sentences of dialogue.. You help perpetuate the belief all over the world that Americans are ignorant of world history.. Give up on making Historical video's until you actually make an effort to LEARN ABOUT HISTORY..

One of the greatest feats of logistics in human military history. Even with that, near the end the British were right on the limit. The loss of all bar one Chinook on Atlantic conveyer created a critical lift capacity, on the end of an 8000 mile chain. The last mile can often be the hardest. There is a lot of history and background to what happened. As well as the historical areas you covered well here, I think that one of the factors that actually led to the invasion - was a vacuum. That vacuum was created when in a money saving move - the UK pulled what little naval assets from the area. Those assets were not heavy assets, but none the less, this sent a message that green lit an invasion. There were so many things that happened and that had lessons in around this war that its hard to get a real depth and cover around it. For me, I look upon it in a hard nosed way. Either we can afford to be somewhere - and by that, it has to pay its way. The Falklands now runs a budget excess and pays for its home defense, and has an expanded economy. And within that the people who live there choose their own path. And within those bounds lies the liberty, freedom, and survival of any out of reach dominion. Argentina has never worked to gain the good graces of the people who live on the Islands. If you treat people like crap, you can't expect them to want to work with you. And the really appalling way the Argentine treated the Island when it did have a temporary hold over them, gave an insight into how the Argentine can't manage or run anything, including their own economy. Since the war, the Islands - despite whatever economic challenge the Argentines place in making life difficult - have only hardened their view on their choices.

@@tonyves Not bizarre at all. Nothing at all to do with 'being the nearest state'! Not sure where you're coming from here. I wish people would do some research, as I did before embarking on 'Maggie's Illustrious South Atlantic tours'... 😏 Argentina call the islands "Islas Malvinas" which is the Spanish translation from French of "Les Iles Malouines". A Malouine is an inhabitant of the city of St. Malo in Brittany, France. Louis-Antoine de Bougainville was invloved in conquering the islands for Louis 15th and set up a trading company with people from St Malo settling on one part of islands. The British under Captain John Strong navigated another part. The Spanish fought and gained control of some parts from the French. Even the Dutch became involved! The true 'ownership' of these islands is complicated. For more information you can read here in French but easily translated. www.axl.cefan.ulaval.ca/amsudant/Falkland.htm

the true ownership in not completed at all. Britain was the first to meaningfully settled the islands it was then a crown colony until 1982 when it became a British overseas territory and achieved self government then in a free and fair democratic international monitored referendum the population chose 99.9% to remain a British overseas territory.🇬🇧🇫🇰🇬🇸
