    I spent a day photographing Vestrahorn at Stokksnes and Eystrahorn with a GoPro strapped to my chest for a first person view. I got some good photos, and some bad ones...

    You've no idea how much this video taught me in terms of composition and unique perception. Loved the idea of taking photos from a lower angle to remove the water and lagoon. Please make more similar videos James. Love your work.

    James, MFT is sorely under represented in the UA-cam space. I’m not a format zealot, but I really enjoy my MFT cameras and I’m glad someone like you is sharing your adventures using the awesome G9.
    I will also mention I enjoyed your last video. Calm, serene, and adventure stoking. I enjoy the ones where you talk too about the process. I especially like the POV because no one shows it! I think there is room for both. Just my 2 pence/cents

    James, i am impressed:
    a) you up in the morning
    b) rare but good use of filter and tripod, probably the only reason, beside night time, to use these
    c) these are probably the best pictures I have seen in a long time
    d) keep on talking, that's why I like your style

    Yeah man, really enjoyed this video. Granted I generally like all of your content, but you should just passively do this on all of your trips. It was really cool just seeing you do what you do and, sort of thinking out loud, and I love the images you were taking being slapped in the screen when you take them. Very nice. +1 vote for more.

    James, I could listen to you all day. DON'T be put off by the comments on the last vlog. Do what YOU want to do. Just editing a few images and will have you there as background "noise". I've watched the Sri Lanka vlog at least a dozen times. Went there a number of years ago and visited most of the places you did. Thanks for all your work, really appreciate it.

    Iceland is one of the most beautiful places on earth. I was so overwhelmed that I didn't even really care about photography. One thing that I loved about it, was the emptiness.

    Enjoyed the POV and longer format and what great locations, neither of which I've yet to see covered in snow. I don't think I could ever get tired of visiting Vestrahorn. I can't quite believe what a flimsy little tripod you took though, that's definitely just a fair-weather tripod, and as you know fair weather in an Icelandic winter is the exception not the norm.

    I was in Iceland in 2018 last 2 weeks of October. Landed in Reykjavik and got to Hofn. It was absolutely amazing. Now with your tips on composition and what to look for I’ll get better photos. Thanks for the great commentary.

    Cool video! Nice use of Gopro, Definitely like this style of video, gives a different perspective. Good to listen to your methodology of how to set up a specific shot and the reasons to why you need/don't need filters etc. It would be cool to see in the future a mixture of this style of video along with your other styles! Keep up the good work.

    You do get that in the U.K. There’s 20 odd minutes between sunrise in Norfolk and West Wales or Cornwall.

    I also only used my 10-stop filter once so far, and I've owned it for over a year now.. And the one time I used it, I also took the same shot without filter, and ended up liking the no filter version better.. 🙈😅 Love the pictures you took, it's so beautiful there! Would have loved to go to Antarctica, but sadly I can't afford it.. So unless I win the lottery.. 🙈 Will you be going to a part of Antarctica where you maybe can see arctic foxes? That would be so amazing, they're so cute 😍

    Super interesting. Do you always shoot from the back of the screen? Maybe I should try it rather than the viewfinder. I tend to take lots of photos from all over and need to spend more time on composition. Always learn from you. Thanks James!

    Another belter... Running commentary is really informative.. Notice you mainly used live view when taking photographs.. is that better than using a viewfinder (you may not have one on your camera). Is it better to use live view to VF.? Also noticed you threw your camera around like a western gun slinger with a colt 45... What were you doing.. were in AV or what..? Be good to know how you flit between the settings..! Cheers mate...

    That trip to Antarctica looks amazing but out of my budget sadly. I wonder though, will you be leaving from Hobart in Tasmania? A day trip to Mt Wellington or somewhere similar as a photographic workshop would be cool :), for us Tasweigans.

    For what it's worth, I think mixing the cinematic & the talky vids is a good mix, I'd say 3 talky vids & 1 cinematic a month would be about the right balance
