Iceland is truly one of my favorite places on this planet and you succeeded to show its beauty in a very unique and different ways from many other photographers. Kudos Michael!
Epic landscape but an even better mini documentary about your trip. Your story telling and photos are truly special. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey. Looking forward to the sequel.
this video puts a smile on my face, i just got back from Iceland last week, my first time there, it was such an amazing trip for hiking and photography
Hilarious closing shot! But seriously Michael, just another tremendous video, lots and lots of great shots, different perspectives, and of course your thoughts - ALWAYS a super treat to watch, thanks......
Your imaging, filming and timelapse making has become truly epic! Even the water which was filmed so crisp made me even thirsty. Exceptional way of enjoying!
It's kind of funny to see you in the intro at the edge of the cliff, because the shallow depth of field makes you look like you are in front of a green screen 🤣 Love all of your videos!!
Awesome Michael. Without blowing smoke up you; whilst watching your video I reflected on how talented and versatile you are. Great images, single, time lapse and even long exposure from a drone! So glad you returned to Iceland. From memory, you once mentioned that you went through a period of not wanting to travel too far. I am happy to see you out and about now. Best wishes from UK.
not sure how widely held this idea would be, but the click-baity title meant I took several days before relenting and watching. This was a way, way better video than the title suggested
Thank you Craig, really glad you enjoyed it! Honestly I am the same way when it comes to watching videos. But the analytics/data suggests otherwise for my wider audience. Also with the way UA-cam treats its recommended videos, unfortunately you might not have even seen this video pop up with a more basic title. Its a weird game that this platform encourages its creators to play. One that for a long time I wasn't willing to play and was penalized for it pretty heavily. The channel was stagnant and my subscribers said my videos were not even popping up in their feeds anymore. Again I am really glad you chose to watch the video anyways and am thrilled that you enjoyed it! :)
@@MichaelShainblum thanks for the thoughtful reply, I'm ootl when it comes to the algorithm so this was interesting to read. Kinda wish it wasn't so but again, the video was spectacular
I'm heading to Iceland for the first time this week, and this video was the inspiration I needed. I cannot wait to be there. Thank you so much for sharing your tips and your photography ❤
Fantastic shots, especially the aerial river shots at the end, love the abstract look to them. You always pick the right music to complement the photos as well!
Iceland is really mindblowing, and I too didn’t take as much images that I’m proud of in my last trip, so hopefully I can go back. Learned a lot from this, Michael. 😁 stunning images as usual.
Glad to see you made it to the highlands. They offer so much and ask so little. Just keep the footprint small and they will provide miracles for endless adventures.
Grat shots! Especially the one with basalt columns! I just went to Iceland this summer and got a lot of beautiful landscapes photographs. Iceland is one of the most beautiful country on earth in fact my wife and I say that nothing will surprise us so easily after this trip unfortunately
Amazing 😍 Everything is so well done and you realy make me feel im there with you, capture all this stunning landscapes 🙏 cant wait for your next video 😁😁🤩
Beautiful cinematic footage. We tend to get pressured to focus on the wide angle grand landscapes in a place like Iceland because that's what we see others doing. It's nice that you've shown us the intimate wonders of Iceland in places one would seldom notice. I wouldn't have thought to photograph abstract details when I'm hyper focused on getting "the shot" that I previsualized, if you know what I mean. Exploration is so much more enjoyable with an open mind.
That was the best B Roll video I have ever seen in a UA-cam video. I don't do video myself, but I watch a lot of UA-camrs. The footage in the beginning with you standing near the edge made me feel like I was standing there with you!😲
A perfect location to use all the various techniques that you are so good at Michael. Love your ongoing introspection and analysis of your work and attitude that helps you enjoy it even more! We certainly benefit from it too!
wonderful video, showing us other ways than the obvious shot to enjoy wonderful Iceland, looking forward to more videos of your trip! Must say I myself also visited Iceland end August and I thought I passed you in Kevlavik airport, but wasn't sure, (on August 27), regards and thanks for your inspiring video!
I always enjoy your videos, Michael, but this is your most interesting. Beautiful images & appreciate your peculiar style of narrating👏👏and the choice of concert piano was the cherry on the top🥂
Some really beautiful images from this video and your visit to Iceland. I could see you working hard to lift your vlogs to another production level also. Keep it up, your are going to take flight… ❤
What a great video Michael! I love how you focused on details and more abstract, and not only on vistas shots. Every time when I do it in an epic location, people give me some weird looks... Good to know there are more of us, so I will definitely continue. And the shots of the waterfall with the rainbow... OMG! EPIC!!
Wow Michael! These are a whole new set of places and subject that I’ve never seen before. And you’ve done a great job of photographing them. There is a video clip near the end that I want to try as a still - water flowing over the edge of a fall with luminous green under the crystal water.
One of your most engaging videos and beautiful images. Even after three trips to Iceland, I cannot wait to go back and make more images. I do try to get the "iconic" images, and then go after some smaller scenes - your video inspired me with new ideas.
Great photos. I so look forward to your videos as I know you'll do something different. These photos from Iceland are 'no exception. The photos of the braided river are stunning but I just love that photo you've already posted of the diagonal dappled light on the single hill and the dark foreground to give contrast.
You're such an inspiration. Thanks for sharing!! I hope to be able to buy some new lenses soon, and try more photography & purchase some of your courses.
Hey man, looks awesome! Which canyon was this? Thanks
So good man! Beautiful images And footage
Thanks so much Nick! How have you been? We need to catch up and shoot sometime!
@@MichaelShainblum agreed !
This is the highest quality landscape photography content on UA-cam right now. Love it.
Loved this. Those texture shots on the rocks were stunning. And wise words as usual as well.
Thanks Nigel, I really appreciate it! Hope all is well!
Stunning work Michael 👏👏
Michael, you make my heart happy.
Michael, I have been following you since a very long time now. You have been an inspiration to me in many of my projects.

Great film. Nice to see something new from Iceland.
Blown away by the imagery throughout this video. Phenomenal work 👍👍👍
Michael, you're my favourite photographer and I will not miss your video in UA-cam and recently I learn composition tips from Jimmy Chin.
That means a lot to hear, thank you! Also a great person to learn from, Jimmy is a fantastic photographer.
