George Harrison also liked to play the Gretsch ‘country gentleman’ .They have a sound all of there own.✌️
dream guitar and awesome playing. two thumps up
The tone on this Gretsch was dreamy. With all the craziness going on in the world, we can count on Lemmo & Jen to bring us a bit of joy. Keep on rocking' dude.
Great playing! Thanks!
Want a shirt! I know, I could buy one but what's the fun in that? You guys are great!!
Wow Lemmo.....Dave Brubeck!
You did him justice. Though I've been a long time Subscriber from way back I haven't been able to watch in recent years any of the episodes due to those 12 - 15 sec.
Adds and commercials, but this
didn't have them....SWEEEET!
HI lovely Jen, anyway's Lemmo
you sound Great! 🎸💚
If a Gretsch is wacky,, let there be three Wednesdays a week.
"Take Five" was very cool! A great new addition to the repertoire of Lemmo Demo Gems. And it can only get better, as the Wednesdays roll through.
Yes! "Lemmo Demo Gems" Perfect sir William.
Very nice Michael 👍🎸 sweet guitar
I swear just yesterday I was thinking why doesn't he ever do a Gretsch, plus got a little Shakin' All Over... way to go Michael. Love hearing the whole crew do there segments, keep it up... Hey Jen
Love these guitars.
It is rodeo season here in Houston Texas. That guitar would fit in perfectly.. hope everyone is doing well out there in this crazy world.. y'all be safe. ❣️❣️❣️❣️
Crazy good choices of tunes for this orange babe ! Nice guitar + great play
I love that tone and appreciate your tasteful hybrid picking style.
Michael now U know just how great Chet waz. It's all in the timing. It waz just lovely and happy that U gave it a try. By the way us old guys up here in Canada just love T shirts and particularly 1 signed by Norm and the gang. Take care
Awesome video! Keep on rocking'
Two hundred and twenty-two T-shirts being given away (?)
I (like Michael) am "Shakin' All Oh-ver"
Has this guy found an old guitar yet that didn't sound good when he played it? His superpower is bringing out the best tones in those old instruments. I've seriously never watched one of these and wasn't impressed.
Nice playing and great camera work!
It's great that a young dude like Lemmo remembers and can play the older melodies! Michael, you're a walking encyclopedia of music!
Wow, great Gretsch, and great playing. Got me Shakin all over !
Incredible looking and sounding guitar
Beautiful guitar, thanks for showing us.
Best guitar of the day yet. Absolutely loved the era correct song choices.✌️🇨🇦
What a beautiful guitar! Lemmo makes that baby sing and cry...wow! Not much else to say...miss Jens woo hoos...
What a sweet guitar. Nice version of “And I Love Her”
Lemmo doing a great job showcasing a cool guitar.
Huge fan of Norm's and Lemmo out here in Canada 🤘🇨🇦
I hate to nit pick because Lemmo is great but, I think the tune is supposed to be in 5/4.
I noticed that too! I wondered if I was counting wrong. Sounded like it was in 6/8. But yes Lemmo rules anyway
Nothing like a Gretsch, build quality is top notch
Outstanding! Thanks Lemmo
Beautiful guitar! Nothing else sounds like a Gretsch!!!
Great take on Take Five - nice job and creative Mr. Lemmo
beautiful ❤️🎸🦅
Beautiful guitar. Had me when you opened the case. Thanks for all you guys do.
Not too bad for a Philly gent! Jen will you please autograph my Norms t-shirt!
Lemmo is amazing! But maybe need to call that version Take 6 :)
BRAVO Mike!! GO FLYERS!!
Such a beautiful stunning iconic guitar 🎸 and such a iconic sound thank you Lemmo awesome playing 🎸🇬🇧
Hi all at norms is the reply below genuine?🎸🎸🇬🇧
I don’t think so as they wouldn’t ask for a text im pretty sure they would ask for a email!!!!! Plus im sure they would announce something in a video at somepoint but good luck with whatever this is!!
Hi Jen please check out the messages I’ve had below looks like someone pretending to be from norms pretty sure this isn’t genuine!! I will report these messages
Gretsch are great! A lot of guitarists love them, all genres!
Don't you have any vintage squires or sth for me to be able to buy?
Just jk love the store, all the staff would love to pass by one day.
Greetings from Egypt!
Wooo
A nice variation on Take 5! And that tone man - so good!
Outstanding young man. As much as I'm a blues player, I always loved Chet's clean tones.
Well that was purdy! Song choices were 👌🏼 and that gretsch sounded fine by me. Can I have that AND a t-shirt?!?!?!
what an amazing color and finish. killer guitar and you nailed the chet vibes. 👏
Always loved the sounds of those Gretsch 6120’s , and that one through that particular fender amp sounds magical… 👍. Nicely done Jen & Michael! Always enjoy watching your vids. Happy Hump day Guys😊❤️
i have one of those Gretches, wonderfull guitars, take five was excellent
This person just tried to scam me
Love everything Lemmo and I watch almost every day! I have to agree with some other comments…the whole point of “Take Five” is a weird 5/4 time signature and I think you were doing 6 (or 3) beats per measure. Don’t take this as criticism, just a music theory tip from a big fan!!!
Fantastic
Beautiful textured sounding guitar!
Please Norman Guitars let me know if the reply is a scam?
I doubt anybody watching this video is less surprised than I am that Mike included that sweet rendition of "And I Love Her". On the other hand, I've got a copy of The Beatles Gearbook and am aware that John played the equal of this model during The Beatles' Revolve recessions.
Love the rendition of and I love her! Lemmo for prez!
Lovely !
Woohoo! Go Gretsch! Also, the Take Five worked really well!
Michaels great, cool guitar
Awesome video! Reminds me of my White Falcon I had years ago. Unfortunately, I had to sell it but it was definitely a beautiful guitar! Gretsch guitars just have that awesome mystique about them. I’ve been following the channel for a few years now and I’ve found so many great musicians thanks to this great channel!
Great job and a beautiful guitar
Always a pleasure to watch you play. You have a real feel for guitar. It all sounds so natural. I think Cheat Atkins would be impressed with your rendition of his song. It sounded spot on to me.
Love to you all from Germany 👍😘
I really love your arrangement of Take Five. - great playing
Man, I really love your arrangement of Take Five, nicely done.
Yes me too, and that took a lot of practice. Believe me
I’ve always loved that model Gretsch and it didn’t disappoint
Great content!
Mike Lemmo great job on the Chet Adkins guitar.
Michael Lemmo's playing is great as always but i also love the historic aspect of every guitar that you guys tell before playing the guitar.
Beautiful guitar!!
As always Lemmo great playing, love the vids!
Love Gretsch guitars. I have a newer single cut 6120 in orange along with a Tennessee Rose. They have their own distinct sound.
Nice, "Take Five" Dave Brubeck...
Sweet! Loved 'Take Five' and 'And I Love Her' too. Been dreaming increasingly of Gretsch since someone suggested near a quarter century back that this Strat-ish player should give them a thought. Loved George Harrison's stuff on 'em back in early days, Townshend circa WGFA, if that was one, as I've heard...I think the one EC played on Bangla-Desh was that one, gifted by Pete. Brian Setzer with Stray Cats and beyond. Chet. Cool af.
I've always felt the double mutes would be more usefull. You can mute the 3 low string and let the 3 high ones ring out.
I really enjoyed that last piece you played.
Beautiful beautiful guitar. I’m jealous Lemmo. I’ve got an original copy of yestergroovin from 1970 if you wanna trade?! Lemme know! 😂
What is the second song called? It sounds familiar but i dont have a clue. Thanks!
Mate! That was awesome. Thanks!
I've been trying to play Take 5 for a while now and thus far have become proficient at playing it on the CD player. Might be able to learn a bit from your video today.
Well played and with a bit of the Beatles in the mix, you can't go wrong.
Cheers,
Mark
i was viewing songs rather current events and found your ch. got to ck out Frank Stallone when sly brought him 1940 Epiphone EMPEROR . awesome ch got to ck more and enjoy.
Nice work as always ! Nice Chet too !
The guitarist Poison ivy from the band The cramps play this guitar she said it was her favorite guitar
Thanks Michael. You just stirred so many memories of my childhood. I began playing at 8. When I was 13 years old my grand father took me to Coast Music in Costa Mesa.(where I grew up) For my birthday gift he bought me a Ventura black beauty Les Paul. To say I was blown away is an under statement. When we got home the first song I began learning was, "and I love her". I can still see my childhood bedroom, turn table and Beatles records. I would borrow little combo amps from friends to plug into. Btw. That was 1962. I'm now 63 years old. Still living in SoCal, but now I have a collection of Gibson Les Pauls. However. I miss that Ventura Les Paul. I sold it for $100.00 so I could buy my first Gibson Les paul deluxe 75 from Sightsinger music.
Cheers!
Kurtiss (Citizen Joe)
Orange you glad it's Gretch.
How much does it fetch?
Great music choices on this video, though the middle one had a bit of a suburban motor hotel cocktail lounge vibe to it. I'm more partial to the look of the Gibson/Epiphone double cuts but that Gretsch is sweet as well, especially in that colour. Greetings from the Canadian prairies where the snow is finally starting to melt.
Sweet as always. Loved that Chet Atkins version.
⚓️ Thanks Jen, Mike 😎
That's the guitar Townshend used on Won't Get Fooled Again! From chicken picking twang to warm bell-like jazz to wrath-of-God crunch - gotta love a filter from-loaded Gretsch!
No it wasn't. Joe Walsh gave Pete the '59 Gretsch 6120 and a 3x10 Fender Bandmaster which Pete used to record the Who's Next album.
@HighHopesBass It wasn't a double cut.
It's really hard to play in 5/4 time, eh? We were working on Do What You Like by Blind Faith and ended up abandoning it! 🙂
Love Gretsch
I have a Terada I need some info on it’s a s616s they supposedly used to or still do )I forget( make guitars for G the higher end models aswell idk if this changed when Fender purchased over or what
When Playing Chet, it helps to play the tune a little slower, that way you're not trying to "keep-up / catch-up". Glad you played these and are expanding your repertoire. After you "get" Chet, try a little Jerry Reed! 😲
Very well said! I agree with that!
Can someone tell me what beatles song that was? Please and thank ya'll.
Lemmo rulez! 🎸👌🇵🇱👊
It's funny how Gretsch evolved; from Jazz, Country, and Rock! Some of their solid bodies used for rock were co-designed by Atkins too! He was one of the their mainstay guitarists for years.
Mike your always awesome. Jen your the best. Byeeeeeeeeee (as Jen would say) Wooooo
Very nice ( though that was mostly "Take 6") lol
Take Five is a young high school band nerd’s gateway drug into weird time signatures and prog. I’m talking about myself, of course.
Take Five in 6/8 lol love it
step up to gretsch if you havent yet i have a white falcon and i love it
Trying to figure out if I need to keep my deal to myself.... New guitar in means another has to give up it's spot. This could be a rule breaker cause you can never have too many, Right?
Sounds good
Always love Lemmo's playing
How much talent does Michael have? Any guitar and he nails it.
Love a good Gretsch!
Hey lemmo, nice demmo
GIVE MR A SHIRT!
