I really appreciate the input. I will be getting one and checking out your music. Cheers.
thanx cousin!!!
Hey, glad you dug it, cuz! 😄🙌🤘
@@TheMightyOrq I did!! and super informative..a story you might find interesting....I got the jet slide because of you, many moons ago, but it got shelved for other things...but I found myself wanting that quick change of regular to slide..I dug around and finally found the damn thing..but had no inclination how to operate it..I actually just punched in to google "how to use the jet slide" and up pops the mighty orq!! Serendipity baby!! Lots of love
Scott Holiday agrees!
This slide is definitely sponge worthy.
Orq, the Macallan is getting low. Great video. I was waiting for you to say, ‘but wait, there’s more’.
Ha! I wish I could say "But wait there's more" of that Macallan! Thanks for checking it out, man. 🙌 It's a way cool slide if you're in the market.
Have you tried the Black Mountain Slide Ring? It also allows for fretting.
I haven't tried this one. I pretty much only use the Jetslide, and have been playing with one since the late 90's. For the variety of slide styles that I play I need something that can cover all the strings for barring/chording. It seems like the ring slides are great for single notes or maybe double stops, but I like the way a Jetslide can cover the whole fretboard. Thanks for the comment!
wish they made a straight edge one to barre chords
Hey thanks for the comment and for checking out the video. So it actually works well to bar chords if you're in an open tuning, and your chord is over one fret. Happy sliding!
nice Video, thanks
What’s that gospel song in the beginning.. the seven seals?
That's called "John the Revelator." Awesome tune! There's a Blind Willie Johnson version as well as a Son House version that are killer.
@@TheMightyOrq Wow, just listened to the Son House version. So inspiring! Thank you so much!!
So why didn’t you demonstrate it?
Thanks for the comment, Armando. I compare both a jetslide and a conventional slide on acoustic and electric guitars around timecode 3:34. Additionally, there is a Part 2 if you want more info. Hope this helps, and happy slide playing.
das ist in Wahrheit Herr Hape Kerkeling...
danke für dein kommentar. könntest du das ins englisch übersetzen?
@@TheMightyOrq just saying you look like famous german actor. Great!
Ach so!
I have one.....not easy to use.
Yeah it can be a little tricky if you're not used to it. It's one of those things ya gotta keep working with. Just like anything, I suppose. Thanks for watching and for the comment. Cheers!
I bought the black special edition 4 or so years back, Scott Holiday uses them as well, thats how I found them and they are AWESOME!
Man those custom color ones are gorgeous! Glad you're digging yours, and thanks for checking out the video. Keep on sliding!! #jetslide4life
Never heard the regular slide hit a fret. That jet slide hit a lot of frets. Seems harder to control.
Yeah, just like anything it takes some getting used to. And I'll grant it's not for everyone. Anyhow, thanks for watching, and commenting. Cheers!
Where'd that goody guy that said "Neva replace the beer bottle OR brass slide." Sir, you are incorrect
Ha! I like it. 😄
A very old idea, it never took off then and it will never replace the original bottleneck or brass slide! Imho!
That's certainly fair, although idk how old the idea is. I'd love to know of some older slides that incorporate this bar/ring idea if you know of any off hand. Inanyevent, it is certainly up to personal taste whether one likes and uses the Jetslide or no. Thanks for watching and commenting, and happy sliding to you.
Very cool! I never knew about The Jetslide!
Do you have a favorite guitar slide? Let all of us sliders know in the comments section. And thanks for watching!
33 euros, emm, fuck that, my knuckle slide was 6 euros
Absolutely understand, man. It's whatever works for ya. Thanks for comment, and keep on sliding. Cheers!
You’re not gonna make very many chords with that thing
Yeah, that's true if you're referring to making behind-the-bar chords. If you want to make regular fretted chords, it's ideal. Thanks for watching the video!
“Here, let me show you”
Proceeds to hold the fckin thing out of the frame.
That's odd, I thought it was pretty clear. Maybe check around the 3:55 mark for a clear demo. Also, I made a second video that may even more clearly demonstrate how to use the slide. The link is below, and if you skip ahead to about 7:10, it should give a pretty clear example of what it is and how to wear it. Hope this helps. I know learning slide can be frustrating sometimes, but keep it up, and you'll be shredding in no time.

I definitely think the regular slide sounded better but obviously the jetslide is more convenient
I want one and I'm a harmonica player.
They're super cool!
What about size? Do I have to know my ring size? Women’s fingers are smaller than men’s. Is it gonna wobble all over the place when I’m chording from being too loose?
That's a good question. From my experience you want it a little bit loose so it doesn't impede your ability to chord or play single notes. Check their website for sizes. What I do is if the ring is too tight I'll loosen it by hand until it feels comfortable. I've also got a sequel ti this video that goes into that a bit more. I'll put a link below.
Here's that link. ua-cam.com/video/GKqxwh-XKNY/v-deo.html
It’s like having a whammy bar built into your finger….. when you need that something crazy in the middle of a solo…. It is right there…. I love it!!
What a great thought! Love that idea. 🙌
I love your music brother!!! Wish I had see you using this…. I would have asked you what it was…. You hide that thing so well when you play!! Amazing talent you inspire me to play every day man

Hello! Thanks for your video. I wanted to ask you if you can tell me the difference between jetslide brass and stainless. Is it an aesthetic issue? Or is it that brass is indicated for a particular style of music and that stainless is indicated for another style of music?
Thank you for your time!
Great question, and thank you for the comment! In my opinion a traditional over-the-finger brass slide tends to have a darker, more bass heavy tone while steel has more brightness. With the Jetslide I don't really know that it makes *quite* as much of a difference. I tend to prefer brass in general, but I think brass, steel, or the glass Jetslides all do a fine job and have a good sound. I think it really cones down to personal taste. Thanks again for your question, and happy sliding!
Where has this been all my life?
@geraldzuckier Ha! Well, glad it finally came across your feed, man.
Yoooooo, that is ingenious!! LOL I've never seen a slide like that! Now, I gotta try one!! #RockOn
Man they're the best! Super functional and only like $25. Glad you dug this man. Hope you're doing well and staying safe and healthy.
I like using a glass jar, like D Allman used.
Yeah, that's definitely a great sound. Thanks for watching, and for the comment!
Thank you for doing this. I have been wanting to try one, and it never hurts to try one or both of them.
As a slide player I’m gonna get me a Jet
Get it man!!
Huge fan by the way! Love your cover of Paul Simon’s Graceland.
regular slide but hey I don't really play slide
I loked and preferred your normal slide.
Where to start? Hmmm. I'll be back.
I have been wondering what you were sliding with .
They also make it in glass for that Allman Brothers tone. Just don't drop it.
Yeah the glass one sounds great too. But yeah, good ol' brass or steel tends to be a bit more durable.
@Nix Jett Yeah, which was glass, thus my suggestion to use the glass Jetslide if you want similar tone.
@Nix Jett Have you seen a Coricidin bottle? It's round. The glass on the Jetslide is rounded as well, just not hollow like the bottle. It gives a similar sound.
@Nix Jett I'm an old fart myself, and we had Coricidin bottles in the cabinet all the time. none of them were square. When we cleaned out my grandma's apartment, she had two originals (one childproof cap, another not) and both were round. Maybe they made a flat one for a bit, but I've never seen it. The Derek Trucks "coricidin" slides are certainly round, as was the Duane Allman repro they sold for a while. Not sure what else to tell you. Maybe find an example of it online? I can't, and I just looked. Here's one example: www.groundguitar.com/duane-allman-guitars-and-gear/duane-allmans-coricidin-bottle-slide/
Oh my God I thought this was Jackson Galaxy
I'm the Jackson Galaxy of Slide Guitar. I also love cats, so... make of that what you will.
P. S. Man, dig your 3-string content!
I have an old bell or tapered brass slide called kick ass brass, seriously that's what it's called.
I'm thinking I've been using it for 15 or so years, other than sanding it every couple of years it's my go to especially for acoustic stuff. Also have a old Coracedrin bottle, I prefer for clean electric sounds super clean with my ol analog chorus and as most guitar players I have the prepetuil fear of changing anything
But I believe I'ma give this a try with the hope of finding one tool that will do both job's!
I bet you'll dig it! I've found it to be a really useful tool over the years. Thanks for watching, and good luck wirh your Jetslide!
Why do you sand it every couple years?
Id assume if he uses it a lot the strings would scratch up a brass slide quite badly adding unwanted friction when sliding
@@greendragon2471 well just from carrying it around, dropping it, changes in weather causing moisture, sweating on it, it gets dull an stickey as in not as fast on the neck, so I use 1000 grit sandpaper and wet sand it back to a smooth polished finish, it doesn't take much at all to get it back to new I should probably sand an polish it more often but I'm lazy lol!
I instantly want one.
I agree with Kid. Try it out, I bet you'll dig it.
You’re the man. I saw a guy using one and wham, a couple days later I look and find this video. Cha-Ching
