Nathasa, you always have something wonderful to teach us for recycling all kind of magazines that arrives almost every day by mail and usually go in to the trash. And all of them are magnificently beautiful and practical to use as you say, for journaling, or drawing, even for saving those ideas that we have and wanted to put in one place for when we need it. I love all your wonderful ideas. You're more clever than any magician, you always have something new, simple, unique and very useful up your sleeve. Thank you very, very much for sharing!!!
There are so many of us here in Southern Oregon watching your videos!! We chatted about you at an Arts and Crafts Fair this past weekend ❤️ we love what you show us and how sweet and positive you are 🌈
I really love this idea of a master board journal made of old magazines! I must admit, I’ve recycled magazines that I didn’t think I could use for junk journaling and now I’m kicking myself for not thinking of this idea! I also love how you emphasized that this doesn’t need to be finished in one sitting. I get so caught up in finishing that it sometimes takes the joy out of creating. Thank you Natasha!
You have just ruined my day! I have so many ideas already and now I have another. How will I ever find the time? You just keep piling on.😂 Ok, serious now. I love your ideas. I think I will do this for myself and then use it for a sample book. I don't have a sample book yet and I could really use one. So often I forget about all the cool things that can be added to journals. Thank you so much for your continued inspiration.
Love this concept Natasha! I live in a senior citizens apt complex and this would be a great idea to do with the seniors!!!! So easy and nothing complex for them. Thank you for your wonderful inspirations you give to us!!! You explain things so well!!! 💜💜💜💜
I use this as I have scraps I will grab it and open to a page and glue some paper, put it aside and when I come to a creative block or just have a few minutes I glue something else down. It makes it my art/ practice anything book. So It doesn't matter. Its all about playing and seeing what works.
Oh I am so inspired to make one of these books. I have a small drawer labelled ‘To Yummy To Chuck’ ….I know where I will put all the yummy pieces in that drawer now 🥰🥰🥰 thanks for the great idea!! 😘 x
Totally inspired. OMG - I went and found a 12 page A4 advertising booklet from a local business - leafing through it I found it was already comprised of thicker and thinner pages!!! It's just been waiting to be carefully collaged. Thank you for your detailed instructions! All important tips.
Oh gosh... I came looking for this video out of curiosity how much LONGER it takes me to do stuff than Natasha... ummm, ahhh - So I started it 10 months ago, eh? Well, I left a lot of pages in my catalogue, but I'm almost towards the end - 4 more to go!! And you know what? The pace doesn't matter. I love my collaged catalogue even though I'm not sure how I'm going to use it eventually... Thank you again, Natasha from Treasure Books!!
The inner groove is called the gutter. Just thought I’d pass it on. I studied desktop publishing. I love this video! It’s something that can be done a few minutes at a time. Thank you!
I am so grateful for your video.! I have been recycling magazines from home development or car brochures into a journal using book pages. You gave such good advice to wrap the edges. I will definitely do that now! My papered pages are often lifting up and wrapping looks so much better too! Also, loved the advice to work on different pages at a time and mindful of the fold. You have solved my problems with this affordable journal making. Thank you🙏🏼😘❤️
I love this video! It is a great creation for mental therapy! It's just a way to make something beautiful out of our eclectic ideas and thoughts. Thank you so much for sharing! 🤗🙏🤗
Oh Natasa I love this! I have been looking for an idea on how I can make a different kind of journal for my 12 year old granddaughter. She is very artistic, and has been going through a hard time...so I really wanted to make something special for her. This is the PERFECT idea! Thank you so much...this really is an answer to prayer!! Much love!
Barbara, I have a 13 yr old GD and I thought this idea would be perfect for her too! A great way to get the littles involved, being creative and recycling!❤❤❤💕💕💕
Natasa thank you so much! Once I discovered your channel I really start to feel proud of this interest of mine. Now I'm preparing a junk photograph book with magazine images and collaging, and you really make my day with this tutorial! Your videos are so inspiring and yours tutorial so well done, it's a very gift that you decided to open the channel. Wishing you aaaaall all the best
How fun! What a fun way to use up scraps! Love all the ideas you shared - as an art journal, to clip in and save things made and to cut up as a master board. I think it would be a fun treasure book for those last bits of favorite papers, laces, trims and images…and to keep “samples” of the beautiful things I learned to make from your videos!❤ Thank you! I’m looking at catalogs and brochures in a new way! 😉
This is a great idea! I like how you have used the existing magazine as a base. Yet the contents don't matter because you are collaging over. One could just use other paper... I have a booklet stapler so could make my own. I also might cut down the size of the sheets to have a more interesting booklet with square or golden-mean size leaves. I love your more vintage style rather than some "cute" scrap book styles I have seen out there. To each his/her own, but find yours very attractive. I just found your channel a couple of days ago. My mother was a fine bookbinder, but she was only so good at it. I wish she had found the relaxed style of modern art book collaging before she passed away. She might really have enjoyed this. How you would have loved her scraps!
like this. I always think I would like to do. but then the concept of art journal never seems like this to me. but in reality it really is an art journal. so I guess I will do this. it's so cool. thanks for letting me know it is ok to paste papers and just make it a journal. I like the idea of putting a plain area on sheet so it can be journaled on. wow🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 can't wait to get this started.
THIS IS right up my creative alley. You know when you know! It speaks to me. I’m wild about your videos!!! Been binging your channel for months now. Thank you, thank for giving of your time, talent, and treasure~~~~~~🥰
Totally cool idea! It’s great that we can make any size we want depending on the catalogue size. And I hate wasting paper so this is awesome. Seems like it could make a great gift as well!
Love this project. I have been keeping lots of little local advertising booklets wondering what to do with them! This is perfect for little art journals. Thank you.
Came across Junk Journaling by accident today. Interesting. I am going to stop smoking and I need something to do with my hands when sitting. I am going to give this a whirl. Will start when we return from vacation to make my first journal. Thank you.
They are great ideas. I haven't done any art jornalling for months, since I started back at uni and dealing with my children. I should make time because I love doing it, it's so relaxing and I need to try relax more lately
I love this idea. It’s about a place to capture your growth in journaling whether it be art, writing, a place for extras and especially a place to look back and remember ways of creating and inspiration. Thank you so much!
I love this idea! I'm definitely inspired to do this! I made one years ago. But I've been so busy making journals for people that I haven't had much time just to play.
I loooouuuhhhvvvve master boards !! 😍 the stitching strips on the collaging makes it pop beautifully and what a great way to utilize magazines. Tfs !!!
What I need idea with lots and lots of ways to use it. Some days I want to craft and I just don't know what to do maybe I feel a little stuck and this would be a wonderful tool they have to just play in. I love the idea that I don't have to finish it all at one time. It takes away that pressure and makes it a more relaxing thing to do. I do think I will get a try
I love this idea. I look at all my pretty pieces of scraps….knowing I won’t throw them away……🤗🤗🤗….by creating books like this I can still enjoy each and every scrap . Working in the book over time……adding when I feel creative! Your projects are always inspiring and give me ideas to not only create similar pieces……yet add my own thoughts to your original work and make wonderful pages of art🥰
Thank you Natasa for the great idea! I have been saving catalogs & magazines intending to make “some sort” of journals. My wonderful artist friends will love these! 💜 Thank you for your wonderful ideas and tutorials. I look forward to each one!
Really appreciate the explanations and details. I love making masterboards, but I really like the idea of making this as an idea book. Wonderful video as always :)
We receive ads in the mail that are abt 6x12 card stock. I can turn them into mini master boards to repurpose them and use up my scraps. Thanks for the inspiration! As always, hugs from Utah!! ❤
I absolutely LOVE this idea! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have so many scraps that I don't want to throw away but they are not right for other projects I want to do. This is perfect and looks like so much fun. I am definitely going to pull out my boxes of scraps and put them to use on this great project, throw perfection and precise cuts out the window and just have some fun. Yay!!
i love to glue my scraps into brochures that i get in the mail - some i use as art journals and some i use to tear out the page to create a tag - or a journal card or as tucks or belly bands - these are fun to make and wonderful to have on hand for creating - thanks Natasa - be well xx
This is wonderful. I love the concept and the texture. As you were holding it, you could hear the sound of the paper and see the strength of the book. I love the idea as a book cover too. Great fun. Wonderful tutorial (as always!)
Thanks for the information of how you can get rid of scraps and use a glue/art journal.....love this tutorial....you explain things so well and inspire creativity......😻
Oh, I love this idea. I recently cleaned out a stash of travel brochures and maps from a time when a friend visited me here in Australia from UK. I discovered we had duplicates of some things and set them aside to see if they'd be useful for snipping. I realised a couple will be perfect to make into journals so will keep them aside especially.
❤️ I'm so delighted for this video! I have been making similar books intuitively as I watch other techniques. I started last summer and did multi page spreads with base pages of an old school year book. I used seasonally themed colors, nature images, and collected fairy art. I added all sorts of pockets, tuck spots, flips,(I love layering flips! ) and the bits of extra bling that I have learned from watching all of your videos. I have three completed, and one that is a work in progress that I pass back and forth with my daughter. We take turns adding new art, and I love that we can share the process and have something to gift to her when it's completed that we made together. Thank you for your bounty of wonderful ideas! ❣️
Excellent idea. Looks very relaxing to do with no pressure! I’ve only just started junk/art journaling and I already have loads of scraps! This is a great way to use some of them. Thank you.
Yes! I am inspired😊 Started getting into mixed media a short while ago and really enjoy it. Also want to start an art journal. This "board" would be great for cutting up for collage cards! 😊 Thank you for teaching!🤗 Going to send to my friend!
Such a cool and adorable idea, Natasha.....thankyou for sharingand hugs from the sunny Austria, but I think, now the weather changes in a big thunderstorm
I love creating pattern posters with ink, drawings, stamps, etc., But I never thought of calling it a master board. That's a great title. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you
Thank you Natasha for another inspiring tutorial ,I really like this the possibilities are endless -and it is a wonderful way of using up those many scraps we gather.
Every time I watch one of your videos I think “wait, you can do that?!?”. Then ideas start bouncing around this brain like ping pong balls in a classroom of bored, unsupervised seventh-graders. Marrying a glue book with a collage master board is a simple, useful, accessible, satisfying idea. It is also a brilliant idea. Thank you so much for making this video.
Once I made this, I would *never* want to cut it up! I have a Masterboard on the go at all times. I keep it out on a separate desk [luxury I know, but it's my crafting buddy's desk when she visits] to keep it "top of mind". If I don't know what I want to create but know that I want to make "something", I'll add a few bits to the Masterboard. Sometimes I even throw scraps directly on top of it. When it looks "full", I'll get the glue jar out and glue them down. This method serves several purposes for me. - I can create when I don't know what I want to do - I actually use up the scraps almost as soon as they become scraps - I can try out different techniques I see in videos on it with no pressure - I have a stack of large poster boards that I'm slowly using up this way - I am prepping for mass production of some journals and will have tags ready to go Now that I've written down this list, it occurs to me that I could very well use the same process in an easier-to-store Master Board Journal. I must give this some more thought.
I am glad you made the point about the bubble s disappearing and lying flat when you glue papers to the backside. Truly, I was hoping there was a magic fixative to prevent the buckling. Alas, not so much! Still, your explanation about gluing on both sides is welcome information. Thanks, Natasha!
❤Love your ideas some I wish I’d known before I started my junk journal it got quite chunky and won’t close that was very interesting watching what you did and a great way to use up scraps
Hello there, I really love this project a lot, it's a great idea to use it as storage of your favorite things as in art journal, definitely will do it, just need to find the right magazine. Thank you Natasha. b 🦋
As usual, love your ideas, Natasha! I've just finished making a DropSheet journal out of the contents of my rubbish bin. Your idea will be the perfect next project!👍🏻
Natasha you never cease to amaze me with your talent for sharing and inspiring! Now I MUST begin a catalog to art journal project!! Thanks so very much for your time and energy investment in us subbies. And blessings from Betty in Ohio.
I didn't know what to do with the old local news magazines I recieve every month. Well, now I do 😄 But I'd rather use neutral tones. Otherwise it becomes "too busy", "too many information" when I add a picture or a beautiful element. Thanks for sharing such a great Idea !
My very first jj I made for myself was made from a catalog, wish I'd had this tutorial then lol. I would have spread out the page making. I still liked it and thought about using the pages in another jj one day journal
This was the perfect video to stumble across today - I just went through all my old magazines, got out what I could use & tossed the dregs. But, I get brochures from travel places, & it's really good quality paper. The central spread of one is a lovely mostly blank spread with a stretched out world map. The cover is colourful so I knew I could use the whole thing to make a journal. Your idea is exactly what I can do!
Nathasa, you always have something wonderful to teach us for recycling all kind of magazines that arrives almost every day by mail and usually go in to the trash. One of the best art journal tutorial videos i have seen because it solves so many problems. You are brilliant. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Natasa for the great idea! I have been saving catalogs & magazines intending to make “some sort” of journals. My wonderful artist friends will love these! 💜 Thank you for your wonderful ideas and tutorials. I look forward to each one!
Your entire vibe is inspirational & relaxing. There are times when crafts/diy/art can be stressful because there's a need for "perfection".
Thank you! Plenty of stress in other areas of life, no need for stress in crafting 😊
I just have been doing a glue/idea book using a daily planner. Ready to cut up, or journal on and blank pages in between to write ideas on!
What a wonderful, no stress idea. I just received a catalog in the mail today, I’m starting it tonight! You are a wonderful artist and teacher.
I use this idea for relaxation and my style of crafting meditation and I end up with useful journal pages. Love it ❤️
Love it. Been looking for a way to use up an over abundance of scraps! Think I will try this tomorrow.
🤩Thank you so much for this wonderful idea! 💐
There are often a lot of leftover papers , now they all will fit together to form a new project.
Me ha encantado el vídeo, gracias 😘😍
Really appreciate the explanations and details. I love making masterboards, but I really like the idea of making this as an idea book. Wonderful video as always :)
We receive ads in the mail that are abt 6x12 card stock. I can turn them into mini master boards to repurpose them and use up my scraps. Thanks for the inspiration! As always, hugs from Utah!! ❤
I just love this. You are awesome.
Thank you ❤️
I absolutely LOVE this idea! Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have so many scraps that I don't want to throw away but they are not right for other projects I want to do. Thanks for the information of how you can get rid of scraps and use a glue/art journal.....love this tutorial....you explain things so well and inspire creativity......😻
Very inspired! Need to get rid of scraps and I love making masterboards! So, the masterboard book really interests me! Thank you!
I love this idea. I am often crafting alone but I think I could get friends to make their own small books with me. It looks like fun.
Brilliant idea. I can see so many possibilities with this. Thank you for sharing.
I can't think why I never thought of doing that. Natasa you're brilliant, thank you! 😊
I love this! Hope you never tire of hearing that! Almost everything you do inspires me! Hopefully I get a chance to start one of these today!
I Love that idea Michalia of going back & forth with your daughter!! What Fun!! You can “ inspire” each other!!🙌🙌💓💓🥰🌟🌟
That is so cool! I've always been afraid to step out of my comfort zone, but you've inspired me to at least try this technique. Thank you for sharing.
So Smart!! TY ☺️ Positive Blessings, vibes peace, health and happiness! Namesta ✌️🐞🕉️
I Love all of the different kinds of papers! ❤️
You are always an inspiration to me. Thank you for all that you do 🙂. Take care and God bless. Becky B
Excellent idea. Looks very relaxing to do with no pressure! I’ve only just started junk/art journaling and I already have loads of scraps! This is a great way to use some of them. Thank you.
What a brilliant idea. Going to start today. Now I know where I can put all of my examples.
Yes! I am inspired😊 Started getting into mixed media a short while ago and really enjoy it. Also want to start an art journal. This "board" would be great for cutting up for collage cards! 😊 Thank you for teaching!🤗 Going to send to my friend!

Brilliant Idea Natasha 💖 I have recycled magazines, now I know what to do with them. You are such an inspiration. Thanks for the video 🌷🌻
Such a cool and adorable idea, Natasha.....thankyou for sharingand hugs from the sunny Austria, but I think, now the weather changes in a big thunderstorm
Yes! Yet again, a brilliant tutorial. I'll have to start another project. My project basket won't like me, but that's ok ;)
I love creating pattern posters with ink, drawings, stamps, etc., But I never thought of calling it a master board. That's a great title. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you
I've been wanting to repurpose my magazines for ages so this video is perfect. Thank you once again Natasha!
Master boards are good for lots of things! I was thinking to do a smaller on in neutrals for and actual writing journal.
This is very interesting and informative. I thank you for sharing this with us. A really fun project . 💕NonnaGrace
Thank you Natasha for another inspiring tutorial ,I really like this the possibilities are endless -and it is a wonderful way of using up those many scraps we gather.

- I can try out different techniques I see in videos on it with no pressure
- I have a stack of large poster boards that I'm slowly using up this way
- I am prepping for mass production of some journals and will have tags ready to go
Now that I've written down this list, it occurs to me that I could very well use the same process in an easier-to-store Master Board Journal.
Thank you Natasha.

this projects speaks to my soul. my hoarding all the things soul. I cannot wait to give this one a go.
I like the way that you always explain what something is and how to use it.
I love this idea and I’ll try to make one, one day. 😍🥰😘 thank you for sharing.
I will definitely be making one of these - what a great way of creating your own inspiration book.
Thank you for another great tutorial that uses up scraps and other leftovers!
Hello Natasa, I love using catalogs for my collage pages, yours are just wonderful. TFS
I am definitely doing this. Thank you for the inspiration!🙂
Bonjour, wouha magnifique quel beau travail. Bravo ❤ ❤
It looks lovely. What a great idea on how to recycle catalogues or magazines!
is she using a full magazine?
As usual, love your ideas, Natasha! I've just finished making a DropSheet journal out of the contents of my rubbish bin. Your idea will be the perfect next project!👍🏻
You have totally inspired me today! Thank you!
Well, now I do 😄
But I'd rather use neutral tones. Otherwise it becomes "too busy", "too many information" when I add a picture or a beautiful element.
Thanks for sharing such a great Idea !
I have one started but after seeing yours I have some more ideas. Thank you Natassa for this tutorial, I love your tips. 🙂❤️
