Junkheadweaver Up Close and personal with tool. This was the closer and goes all the way up to the bow and walkoff. These guys as always put on an epic performance and it was a pleasure to be able to see them again at home. Me and my wife just enjoyed being at louder than life 23 and they were there as well. I will see them again as soon as possible. Please enjoy and comment if you'd like. Thanks for sharing the experience with me, if this is your type of thing I'm glad this could find you. I have alot of videos. I just put one up now and then.
Tool is an American rock band from Los Angeles. Formed in 1990, the group consists of vocalist Maynard James Keenan, guitarist Adam Jones, drummer Danny Carey and bassist Justin Chancellor, the latter of whom replaced founding member Paul D'Amour in 1995. Tool has won four Grammy Awards,[1] performed worldwide tours, and produced albums topping the charts in several countries.
To date, the band has released five studio albums, one EP and one box set. It emerged with a heavy metal sound on their first studio album, Undertow (1993), and became a dominant act in the alternative metal movement with the release of their follow-up album Ænima in 1996. The group's efforts to combine musical experimentation, visual arts, and a message of personal evolution continued with Lateralus (2001) and 10,000 Days (2006), gaining critical acclaim and international commercial success. Its fifth studio album Fear Inoculum was released on August 30, 2019, to widespread critical acclaim. Prior to its release, the band had sold more than 13 million albums in the US alone.[2]
Due to Tool's incorporation of visual arts and very long and complex releases, the band is generally described as a style-transcending act and part of progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and art rock. The relationship between the band and today's music industry is ambivalent, at times marked by censorship, and the band's insistence on privacy.
"Ænema"
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
Certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this bullshit three-ring circus sideshow of freaks.
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay.
Fret for your figure
And fret for your latte
And fret for your lawsuit
And fret for your hairpiece
And fret for your Prozac
And fret for your pilot
And fret for your contract
And fret for your car.
It's a bullshit three-ring circus sideshow of freaks.
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call L.A.
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, see you down in Arizona Bay.
Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by fault lines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dip shits.
And some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see Armageddon soon.
Certainly hope we will
I sure could use a vacation from this stupid shit, silly shit, stupid shit.
One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.
Learn to swim.
Learn to swim.
Learn to swim.
'Cause mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' 'round to put it back the way it ought to be.
Learn to swim. [repeat]
Fuck L Ron Hubbard
And fuck all his clones.
Fuck all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.
Learn to swim. [repeat]
Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies
And fuck your short memory.
Learn to swim. [repeat]
Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional
Insecure actresses.
Learn to swim. [repeat]
'Cause I'm praying for rain
I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom, please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.
Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.
And I can't imagine why you wouldn't welcome any change, my friend.
I wanna see it come down.
Bring it down
Suck it down.
Flush it down.
What an awesome video..being that close must have been amazing live…
It really was a killer experience. Being that close was just something that happened on accident! Lol
Saw them in OKC. Didn't even break out my phone once. I was locked in the journey they took me on. Holy shit it was amazing. 5th time I've seen them but this was their best show IMO.
The greatest band of our generation! 🤘🏽
No doubt they really do so much, It is a beautiful thing. 🤘
I saw them in Charlotte on the 21st, it was the best concert ive ever been to, the sound quality and visuals were unreal especially during rosetta stoned
Agreed! Me and my lady went to louder than life and saw them as well this year. I would go again as soon as possible it is a tremendous show. EVERY TIME!
It was alright. Definitely not their best
intolerance and flood
I've heard they are incredible LIVE!
Me too. Hells yeah!!
Thank you for sharing. Still have not seen them live but been a fan since the early 90's
You are very welcome. I am glad you enjoyed. I tried to do the best I could. This is a fabulous band. It was my pleasure to serve you with this video.
God I love this band 👍
No doubt! It's hard not to love something so beautiful! 🤘
Saw them in Charlotte. And all I got to say is Danny is a damn machine!! My 5th time seeing them and the best I've ever seen him play!
For sure, he is an absolute machine! 💯 🤘it's a pleasure to watch him in action.....
Thank you from central California!
Much obliged, my dear! I am so glad you found and enjoyed this video!
Tool is just the best period. Danny rules. I had front row for allentown pa and front row is just a whole other thing. Just beautiful
Couldn't agree more! No doubt!
Duuuuuuuuuuuude damn! Hells yeah. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it, no problem. I'll he putting more concert vidz up soon! Rock on!
Maynard really going for it near the end. They were really locked in on this one so good to see. Thanks for sharing!
Ya, man they are a great team, glad you liked it! They all still do their parts so well! 🤘
Maynard is a fkn machine
Absolutely! Great to have such talented musicians to enjoy!
Saw them for the 2nd time last month in Nashville. Phenomenal show
That's what's up! We couldn't make that one, but I'm glad you did. They are a real experience. I go as often as possible! 🤘
Great video work
Thanks a bunch. Great band & epic show! Tried to do em justice!
Such good guys
For sure. TOOL is top shelf!
I was there. Great show!
WOW
Really, I just got lucky with those seats! It really changed up the view from where we were originally.
Always amazing seeing these guys live 🥹🥹❤️❤️
Without a doubt! Something every fan should experience, live is the real thing!
Seeing them in 2020 is what made me a fan. Hated them until that first song popped off and I was an instant fan after that. Best show I’ve ever seen, even better than Pink Floyd, without a doubt
had no idea danny kept an analog synth rack in his kit. baller.
🤘🏽🤘🏽
🤘
Saw this show and atlanta! Fuckin loved it
Awesome, ya it was absolutely a blast. Unique no doubt.
I said , my stick at 7:55 !
No doubt that kicks ass !! 🤘🤘 lol. Killer observation !
For real . That's me . Greatest show ever ! Sold a kindney to set the front row .I caught that stick, though
Glad you got to see Tool at my Alma Mater. Not trying to be "That Guy", but for people searching purposes, it's Thompson-Boling (not Bowlin).
Ya, I fixed it once. Damn auto txt, my phone sometimes thinks it knows more about what I'm saying than I do, gotta watch it lol, I appreciate the heads up!
@junkheadweaver -- No problem!
This was my 12th TOOL show and they just keep getting better live. I dragged my wife, kicking and screaming, for her 6th. I got the poster framed, but goddamn it's weird.
Lol. Yes sir. Incredible. The poster idea is super kewl and toolish... I'm stoked you liked it. I have a ton of vids from louder than life of them and others! 🤘
@junkheadweaver right on my man! Have you caught any shows this tour? I had to skip Atlanta, Nashville and Birmingham but duuuuude that set list was amazing.
@duggadugga6435 Unfortunately, only a few clips at LTL23, Work too much, but me and my wife saw TOOL twice, APC, and Puscifer all over a short time. As much as possible. Going to Falling in Reverse and Disturbed 2/8.
@junkheadweaver I wanna tell you a story...and this is your page so you can't say No. My dearest wife bought tickets for us and my two brothers to see them in Nashville about 5 or 6 years ago. Balcony, center stage, fucking best seats in the house. During a blizzard. They played Schism. Screaming "between supposed lovers" with my arms around my two little brothers was one of the most holy experiences of my life. Tripping balls, we walked through ice and snow to our hotel and then to the Parthenon and went sledding. All while tripping our fucking nuts off. I will cherish that night until the day I die.
@@duggadugga6435 Sounds like a time to remember! Family really is everything! Take care of em. And every time is an experience with TOOL, I would stay at a show if possible!
They’re changing their last song and probably going to use everyone’s footage for a BluRay
Right on man, that would be pretty cool. Sounds like something they'd do. Appreciate the thought!
Great video! VIP spot?
No sir I wish lol. Just right right side of stage barely elevated. First row. Gald you liked it bud.🤘 we got moved, had terrible seats! It was awesome
There are three guitar amps on stage. In the middle/in front of the drums.
Q: Did they have a special guest that night?
I can't spot any extra amps apart from Adam's typical setup: a Marshall Super Bass, a silverface Diezel VH4 and a blueface VH4, each on top of a 4x12 cab.
It’s really cool to see the stage rig from this view. They have a massive stage sound with those side fills. And it’s makes clear why Maynard is always in the back with his in-ears.
But those (Mesa?) combo’s are facing forward and are miked. That’s the reason I was thinking there was a guest player at this venue.
No special guest that night. Those are used on Culling Voices by Danny and Justin.
Ooooh yeah I see, thanks for clearing that up.
Saudi
I love it when Maynard calls out the dipshits with their phone lights on. 😂😂😂
Ya, it's funny as shit. He's a classic entertainer!
Great video, did you have some sort of tripod or just incredibly steady hands?
Lol. Man I appreciate that. I just keep a rigid stance. Or try to..... thanks a bunch for noticing 🤘
I tried to film the other night at the end of the show but I kept rocking my head and pumping fists.... Made it tough!!!
@soulintake lmfao.. it's tough! Hell at least you tried....lol. good shit! 🤘
They tour a lot these days. Maybe thinking about retirement
They have been playing a very long time. It's inevitable at some point. But Hopefully never! Lol. Rock on!
They confirmed after this tour is finished they are working on at least one more album
@@masonfajerski that's what we like to hear! 🤘
I see you’re respecting their wishes by not using your phone during the show.
I actually was, that's why I only have the very last song, Believe it or not Maynard actually allowed recording for the last song. Possibly becoming soft in his old age?! Lol
@@junkheadweaver I think they did that at every show this last year. It was a test. You are on their list now.
@Bobby_Uterus hell yeah, that's awesome...lol, now I'm excited! 🤘
@@junkheadweaver prepare yourself for, the Stinkfist
@Bobby_Uterus lmfao. Epic style, my broskie.....i love it! 🤘
The one song they probably played all night that anyone really knew? Am I right?
Well, now us long-time tool pushers know em all pretty well, I'd say!
@@junkheadweaver I hear ya! But man the new stuff just seems like a jumbled mess of tribal beats. Each 10 min song all sounded the same. Plus I was completely sober so maybe that had something to do with it idk🤷♂️
@@DRUMZ4LIFE82 yeah I wish they would play more of there older stuff, like lateralus!!!!
Wut
@@DRUMZ4LIFE82some tool stuff definitely takes repeated listens and time to sink in. That being said, if you weren't really familiar with FI yet than it probably wasn't going to win you over immediately live then... To each his own
I love Maynard, but it seems like like he’s turning into an eighth grade chaperone at a school dance
I love all these guys, I'm sure it's no easy feat to make their style of complex polymetric music for multiple decades ..and still going strong! Appreciate the comment.
Probably ythe most overrated band of all time along with the foo fighters and Nirvana
I would disagree, tool is in a league of its own. Appreciate your perspective however! 🤘
@@junkheadweaver minor leagues
@@chrischoir3594 lol. You're off your rocker. Seriously.
@@junkheadweaver TBH I think the same thing about the tool cult followers. Saw these guys at Lalapoolaza in 93 and was not impressed. I suppose it's tough to play after age Against the machine tears it up.
@@chrischoir3594go complain somewhere else then haha geez bud would you rather have one kind of music to choose from? Snowflake baby
