I will go out on a limb after finally experiencing TOOL live I think they might be the best live band out there. Unique state setup not considered at all this band just might have the most talent ever assembled on one stage ever, seriously they are a band that was a supergroup from the beginning. Maynard for my money is one of the best vocalists out there and his range is so massive for stuff like Puscifer and A Perfect Circle in addition to TOOL. Adam Jones, one of the best guitarists all time, Justin Chancellor one of the best bassists of all time and Danny Carey on the drums. What can I say about Danny Carey, his drums stand out always even among the collective greatness of the band. The intensity for which Danny plays is quite incredible.
Your assessment of Tool is accurate, I've seen them about 18 times going back to the mid 90s. Each member is at the top of their respective instrument/talent, no dead cylinders on that engine. If you didnt know, the guitar player is the genius behind the visuals. He used to work at a Hollywood Prop house making molds for stop motion photography, (see some of their early videos), one of my friends worked with him there. I liken them to the band Pink Floyd in artistic steadfastness, no corners are cut at all and no wine uncorked before its time, thats why they wait unusually long time periods to release new music barring the 15 years they were being sued. Also the drummer will soon be the new drummer for the band Rush taking up the spot vacated by the late great Neil Peart.
@@craigch2005 Yeah I knew that funny enough I drive through Libertyville Illinois nearly every day, where Tom Morello and Adam Jones are from. Adam Jones is not only great at making the videos like the one for Stinkfist which I love but also his work in film is so amazing. That Rush thing sounds amazing to me, since it sounded like Rush was done after Neil died. What is great is I don't think they are reconsidering as a cash grab, they got inspired I think it was at a tribute for someone else. Tool though I mean what can you say, those drums are just otherworldly, Adam's guitar is absolutely stunning and that bass I mean it just forms such a cohesive band. You know Puscifer's song Country Boner but was originally a song by Electric Sheep which was Tom and Adam's first band.
I know I'm old but I always cringe whenever I see audiences now with everyone watching the show from their smartphone. For what, some crap quality zoomed out video and audio that you might look never look at again? Live in the moment man.
@@Acheron.426 Exactly, i’m 19 and couldn’t agree more! 😂 Memories are more powerful then a video on a screen although i did record myself after my first moshpit
My heart is broken they played this as their closer and they didn't for us in Baltimore, the venue 2 nights prior. This is my favorite Tool song and I was crossing my fingers they would play it live. Unbelievable. And they played it as the closer too for the first time ever apparently. I will never forgive you Tool!!!!! 💔
Glad I’m not the only one that was slightly underwhelmed by the Baltimore show. I still enjoyed it and had a good time…band sounded fantastic…visuals were awesome…but the setlist lacked. Although, I’m glad they played The Grudge this time around. I preferred the set they played in DC in 2019.
For both nights we got some stunners. Flood, Sweat, Schism, Rosetta Stoned, Jambi, 46 & 2. I just got home from night 2. Unbelievable. Got to meet Adam Jones during the group photo. I’m content 😂❤️🤘
I'm extremely curious to see what they play tonight for the 2nd show at MSG. I noticed on this current tour that there are 4 venues where they play each of them twice, back to back nights. Madison Square Garden, Hollywood Florida, Phoenix Arizona, and Los Angeles California. You assume they're not playing the same setlist twice. I'd be surprised if they play any of the songs they played last night, tonight. So you figure they're playing all diff songs.
I was there Saturday they ended with 46 & 2. It was definitely a different setlist than the Maryland show. You can just google Tool setlist they usually cover the whole tour that’s where I look.
@phewiss3066 Listen to schism vocal track on UA-cam , there's two different vocal tracks going on. If he uses a harmony vocal effect on his microphone chain, then it would sound close to the album.
This is the first time that I have heard his tone kind of sound like it wasn't quite spot on. I have never ever heard him sing off-key. And I've watched a lot of their concerts. God, they are beautiful.
Gosh. I try to give them a chance. I hear Carey can do Peart proud, etc. sorry , not a chance. Rush had song structure and well written songs. These guys play the same”10” songs every night. Every song in the same dynamic. Boring, bogus. Very overrated. Facts…
A band who cries about phones just isn't coming along with the changes. Get over it, boomers. Better yet, find a way to use it to your advantage. Adapt or die. Blockbuster Video laughed off a $50M buyout offer of Netflix... now Blockbuster is a ghost and Netflix is a $100B business.
@@gagadreams they don't release most of it. There's some of Danny's drum cam from the lateralus, 10k days, and Fear Incoculum tours if you want to check those out. Confirmed in interviews with Carey, but they have not released anything official besides the live tracks on the Salival album
La meilleure toune de métal progressif des années 2000, et de loin. Toujours aussi bonne en 2024👍
That drum kit is gorgeous!
Danny is a beast. Hes an artist to the bone
Love tool. This gave me chills. To hear it finally played live in person must've been exhilarating
Too bad they aren’t doing it every night so every first time fan can hear it
Vicariously I like to watch Tool live
This is the first time in Tool band history that they end up the show with Schism song.
fun fact
With Schism song? Lol
Horrible performance not impressed at all. I was there and they sounded sub par.
@@tas466Saw them in November and had the same reaction. Only time I’ve been disappointed by a Tool show since 1997.
Yes I been watching more on UA-cam and they seem a bit bored tired?

No maybe about it, the only band that as tight live is dream theater
Absolute masters of their craft.
Two weeks I get to see em again can't wait
I was there Saturday they ended with 46 & 2. I love no body recorded till the last song. He’s right live in the moment.
for real!!

They weren’t very strict Saturday night with phone policy . But most people stayed off anyway thank god
Today!!! For me 20:00 cannot wait
Nice bow at the end from the new black belt.
He fucking nailed that last "I know the pieces Fii-iiIIITTT!!!" I mean for real, that was goddamn perfect
The pieces fit!!!
Great band Great tour .Edmonton show was an out of my head experience, hipnotizing..seen em 3 times
For the poster, thank you. The video is very clean and sound is great!!
F--- yeah man, thanks for posting
Thanks for share this ✌️😎✌️
I was there Saturday. Such a great show. Wish I got to hear this tho. Thanks for the video.
MJK is a legend!
The song that got me into Tool. Great version.

Great job on the filming.

How do i reach out to you? Im going Thursday and Friday to Hard Rock. Lets meet up bro.
Glad they ended with 46&2 instead of schism in mtl even thought i enjoy schism
Can't Complain! That was the encore when I saw them last November I wasn't disappointed.
You can tell he'd rather be making wine than performing. The people who keep their phones out during the shows will drain your soul.
How long before MJK day is a federal holiday?!
There are some bad boys🫡🫡🫡🫡
Danny Carey is the only reason I like Tool
7 notes in the whole song wew. best band of our time
I'm curious as to why Maynard doesn't use a vocal harmony effect on his main vocals for this song. It would be close to how it sounds on the album.
They don't play to a click or a track. So the backing harmonies would go way out of sync.
@@phewiss3066 no tracks, the harmonies would be on Maynard's vocal microphone as an effect.

Just read the lyrics for this song it reads like the rambling of someone with a brain injury
When MJK says its cool to film.....then....this one guy......
All of their music sounds sooo similar…..it gets a bit boring!
I don't know what albums you've heard because this song sounds nothing like their earlier stuff and also not like their new stuff either..
That’s how I feel about almost all other music.
Oddly I’ve never felt the urge to watch a video of any of them and comment how boring they are though.
