Tool is a one of a kind band. What an amazing fucking band and look at this beautiful light show. I remember when I was 14 years old in 96’ my older brother bought the Undertow cd and we were jamming. In 2007 seen them in Evansville Indiana for $40 and there were literally 3000 people in the crowd. The very next place they went there were 40,000. I got to see them up close and personal. I’ll never forget. Amazing times in my life.
I don't know about Tool but many bands touring the larger venues want the most money so they don't do general seating and instead set up reserved seating. You can get close if you have the money and want to pay for it. In my area there are venues that don't really have any bad seats. Sometimes you are better off farther away because the closer seats feel cramped. Several times I gave up my close seats and went where I could relax and breathe. The shows were great at any distance. Some acts are so popular you are lucky to get seats and there is no place else to go once there. But the older bands have been easier to see in their elderly stage. In their prime you could only see them at a large event and it was general seating in which you had to fight through crowds to get closer and then what happened when you needed to get something to drink or to pee? You lost your place and had to do it all over again.
Indeed. Couldn't agree more. My brilliant daughter, Bronwyn got me a ticket to see them in Toronto recently. Sadly, I have a brain injury that massively affects my memory.... so I can't remember the experience. 😢 I've been into Tool for as long as I can remember.... and admittedly, my long term memory is much better, so it's been a long time.
Saw em last night in KC for the first time with my daughter... Been a fan for 20+ years them and Black Sabbath have been my favorite bands of all time and I finally got to check that bucket item off my list. The most spiritual experience I have ever had in my life and absolutely the greatest concert I've ever been to and likely ever will be and I go to alot of concerts lol. Not to mention my daughter loves them too and it was not only her first Tool concert but her first concert in general. What a way to start hahaha lol. Never forget it.
The kc show was mind changing this time. The power, energy, community The band what art! I'm truly changed. And this was my second show. Still can't believe we got to hear sober. What a way to open!
Took my 10 year old son to see them in Grand Rapids MI on March 8th. This was his first concert as well. Glad I brought full ear protection for him, boy was it loud. I’ve been to a ton of concerts as well over the years & this was my first Tool concert. Absolutely the best show I’ve ever seen…period. The people at the show were so kind & considerate towards my son. It’s more of an experience than it is a concert & I was completely sober. I had an opportunity to see them back around when Lateralus came out but couldn’t go for some reason. No way I was missing possibly my last chance to see them & I’m so glad I was able to take my son!
The ABSOLUTE GREATEST live shows that I've ever seen and it's not even close! I've been to lots of shows too. Seen TOOL 3 times since 2001 and it's been mind blowing each time.
TOOL is the one band you hope as many people as possible try to record with their phones. Just in case one of them actually succeeds in producing this quality of live footage.
in fact tool asks the audience to let the phone in their pockets beforehand, and the the audience was quite behaving (at least at the gig I saw), just at the last song he said: ok, go on you can record the last song.... it was incredible all the lights popping up at once, so the audience was kind of part of the show.... I hope most of the people enjoy this kind of art with their eyes and not through their screens....
and the band hates fans that post videos. Their take is that the TOOL show is a live experience that people pay a lot and travel far for, so it shouldn't be posted, if you want to experience it you need to go to a show. Adam said this to me personally....
I think so too. When I think really hard about that exclamation, I realize its just my opinion but it seems like it should be really obvious to everyone. Regardless, I'm glad we all get to have opinions. Especially when they differ. If I were the king of all music, Tool would be the only band in existence. That wouldnt be good for anyone.
We're going to see them in Newark tonight!!! My 4th time seeing them, my husband's 1st. I'm so excited I can't stand it. Maynard has the voice of an angel. Almost to tears right now. So pumped!!
@@mindyd1985 Congrats. They aren't coming to Canada this year. :( Ive seem them over 15 times so it's ok. Maynard's voice back in the early 90's could make the hair n my neck stand up.
Same here, saw them in Chicago yesterday. I purposely avoided every live video, so I could experience them without knowing what was going to happen. It was amazing. Not something where you clap along, or mosh, or crowd surf. Where you experience a moment you'll remember for the rest of your life.
Me: "How fucking obnoxious and inconsiderate to be holding a camera up like that during a concert." Also me: "Gee, I sure am enjoying this footage that someone took with a camera they held up during a concert."
The band allows cell phones only for the last song of the show. A few knuckleheads were trying to record in the beginning but they got shut down by security. Best concert ever.
Yeah you can't record , but I'm to hide in the dark the whole gig where nobody can see me after waiting however long for them to tour. I love ther music but seem like massive dickheads lol
I agree Toby, I also enjoyed it -- oh, you were just complaining to complain? -- Was that sarcasm & criticism? Did the 9 square inches of cell phone screen wreck the sound?...or the view from 200' away? Did it distract from the hundreds of thousands of watts being spewed out in the background scene? STF up, I am fairly certain there is an "x" at the very top right of the window you had open to view that recording -- since you so disapprove. FYI, far more obnoxious and a punctuation catastrophe is putting you own words in quotes -- I'm pretty sure you need not put quotes around your own words....no wait, I'm fucking positive you self-important, child-like, English language butchering, lightly bearded douche-bag. Are you the "TOOL" (see what I did there?)that still uses air-quotes? This person posted that for people who want to watch & enjoy, with 100% ability to turn it off...and I, personally, 100% appreciate the time and effort they spent to share that. Do you have children? Maybe go crush their dreams with your ocean of negativity--DICK.
Nice high quality video and audio. I lost count how many Tool shows I've seen. I started off as a Tool fan before APC and Puscifer, now I'm just a MJK fan. I ran into him 4 years ago in Old Town Cottonwood, AZ near Merkin Vineyards, which he owns, and he was friendly and down to earth. Adam was with him so i met him too. I was the only person there that knew of him as something other than "the guy that runs that place" I think.
Anyone else love how Justin pounds his chest during, "Bold and Proud of where I've been.." ?? He does it at every show. So goofy/wholesome. You can tell Maynards lyrics on FI really resonated with the band.
Justin chancellor is wholesome and goofy! You can watch his Bass Wah pedal commercial for proof of that. I love Justin, he's tje reason I picked up a bass and became a musician! ❤
I love listening to him sometimes shooting some heroin and cocaine a good speedball and it's good music to think about going on a mass destruction of anteater on mewhile on a massive tripsometimes it gets a little too long but excellent
I just saw them in Tampa for the fist time ever, after being a fan of over 25 yrs. The timing was always wrong and I had tickets for their last show before it was cancelled due to covid so I thought I’d never see them. Well worth the wait, 1st section tickets and every member was on point. The show was fucking amazing!
Saw them at the sundome when maynard still had his voice. He has a lot of trouble these days, but they still put on a good show. Just not my vibe these days. I totally see why they went all seats. my first show was in the pit, and it just wasn't the vibe for a pit.
Same man! I saw them in tampa after having the April 2020 show canceled. Had seats in the 200s and they were the best seats ive had in a while to a concert! I could see everyone so clearly! Also, Best mix for a live show I've ever heard and I've been to a lot of shows!
I have been a fan since 93 and a deep fan since 2001. I saw them in Tampa at the same show as you for the first time ever. I was telling my wife at the show there was only one other concert that I saw that meant so much to me. It was the Wall concert in Berlin 1990.
so awesome. Tool is on another level from most musicians. The creativity, the music... the emotions the music brings forth... it's hard to put into words how much I love Tool. I've never seen them live but I hope to soon. Tool kills it
They always Kill it! Seen them 3 times ,never wasted one cent on my tickets, would've paid more. TOOL will be immortal and influence music forever, no doubt about it. Glad to be alive in the time period of their music and had the pleasure to watch it evolve.
Saw Tool 2/23/22. Absolutely incredible. MJK was on 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Now it wasn't 2001/2002 Maynard, but he was singing those songs with such enthusiasm. Hands down one of the best Tool shows I've been too.
I fell in love with Tool the very moment I heard them in 93. Most brilliant artists to ever grace this planet. Maynard is like no other, Danny, Justin and Adam, like no other. I’m a 50 year old mom who still jams to any and every Tool song i hear. And brilliant is an absolute understatement. Thank you for posting this effing masterpiece.
Maynard is one the greatest singers and writers to ever exist in rock music, that said.... He isn't as ferocious as he used to be because of age; the mid to late 90's is when they were at their strongest.
@@joepedulla457 yes, that is why I wrote it. As someone who is in his 40's, I know the feeling of not being able to do what I used to be able to but it has to be so much worse for a performer like Maynard, who was so used to being able to give it his all for so many years until eventually time caught up with him and his body started to forsake him. The first time I heard Tool was in 1996, and I've been a fan ever since, and although I do miss Maynard at his strongest, I do appreciate that he keeps creating, keeps performing. This song holds much meaning for me and I suppose for others who are older now as well.
They were full of piss & vinegar back in the mid- late 90's for sure, that's when I fell in love with them. I remember the very first time the video for Stinkfist was played on MTVand I had already liked the Sober and Prison Sex vids after seeing them on Beavis & Butthead. I liked the aggression for sure but I also like the direction Tool went on Lateralus, away from the negative way of thinking and seeing the world and towards a positive message of mind expanding spiritual personal growth which is a hell of a lot more of a sustainable thing I think than being pissed off and wishing for a meteor to hit and flush California into the ocean... not a very good way to look at the world. Maynard got all the piss & vinegar out and left it all on the stage back at the end of the 90's and their sound has blossomed because of it to places it would not have, had Tool tried to keep more of an "aggressive edge' than they actually felt as musicians.
I was at the Feb 26 2022 show in Jersey with my wife, who's been a TOOL fan for a couple decades. I wasn't even a fan (I thought they were OK, but wouldn't really listen on my own.) Now, I can't stop listening to Fear Inoculum. Crazy how things happen lol
You call this good?? sounds terrible. Just a simple phone camera mic is my guess... Way to do it is give the camera guy a signal out from mixing booth. But this.. this is just really BAD QUALITY my friend.
And please people, try to listin to one of the other 5 trillion musicians on the planet that are trying to buy a meal. F8king Tool haha, LMAO (and feel sorry) with people still listning to the same crap bands after 50 years. And yes, all Tool albums sound the same.... music wise not really great or something. Quite basic stuff. Its like looking at Renaissance paintings for 50 years. Boooooooooring
This is one of those bands that was always sort of on the radar for me and I kept thinking "yeah gotta get deeper into these guys." Now I'm becoming obsessed with them. Danny Carey makes me wish I'd paid closer attention in geometry class. Can't wait till they tour again. I will be there. Thanks for the post.
Saw them last night at the Ao arena Manchester and what an experience that was. My ears are still ringing and the images are seared into my memory. What a band.
Epic!!! TOOL is an awesome band, still going strong after 30+ years) Something to listen to for the generations to come to find out what REAL music sounds like!!
Kids, these are adults playing what are called "instruments" and making what is actually called "music"...... SO glad concerts are starting again. Tried to see Tool in the US and Europe. Almost all shows are sold out. Great for them!!! Be cool!

One of the best shows I've ever seen was Tool live in Detroit. Such tight performers. Perfect artistry. Was on the front row railing until I was torn from it. That was a hardcore audience!
Saw them in 2006 at the Palace of Auburn Hills. Fucking amazing show! They sounded fantastic. Only better show I've ever been to was Tool at the Huntington Center in Toledo only because I was closer to the stage.
DO NOT MISS A CHANCE TO SEE THEM LIVE! Or you will regret it till the day you die, and beyond. They are incredible in the studio but absolutely unbelievable live.
I saw them in Detroit the other night, I have seen a ton of shows in my lifetime, and without a doubt the best ever. Absolute perfect attention to detail at every level of an artistic performance.

It’s so refreshing to see that there is still some musicians out there who actually care about the music and not the money. Quality of live performances is outstanding and puts music at the forefront of the show. Stay safe everyone
Not sure I agree with they don't do it for the money. TOOL charges more money for their tickets than any other band I've ever seen. Three times the ticket prices as bands like Rush (when they were still playing), Government Mule, Black Country Communion, Joe Bonamassa, etc. They definitely do it for the money. They're absolutely the best but their ticket prices are shameful.
@@bknerien Not a single band you listed is remotely in the same caliber as TOOL other than Rush, and they're not relevant in the slightest at this point. Regardless, their ticket pricing is in line with any other big name act, and they sell out constantly.
@@cbeck5222 you're showing your amazing musical range when you state that other artists like Warren Haynes, Joe Bonamassa, Glenn Hughes, etc aren't relevant. Coronado: Awesome! I've seen Tool 14 times as well. To hear Undertow, live specifically when there was only 500 people or so in the club, was absolutely amazing. Maynard was a MUCH different performer/vocalist then. I WISH the newer fans could have seen Tool in 1992.
I was there with you Bill!!!! Totally agree. 2nd time for me. Absolutely spectacular to the ears and eyes!!!!! The most I’ve ever spent on a ticket but worth every penny. Just an amazing group of musicians. Looking forward to next time 🤘🤘🤘🤘
Ah wow, great footage, instantly transported back to seeing this live back in May. Best show of my life, unlikely to be beaten. 4 rows from the front, caught a pick from Justin. Just perfection throughout.
Not if you're Siamese. Then you'd be sharing a lens. And also a butthole. How do Siamese people decide who's wiping the ass? "Hey I wiped yesterday! This isn't fair!" What if someone has to poop and the other person just doesn't feel like it? "Can we go poop now?" "No".

@@nothinghead123 for sure. I tried singing along to it and I simply can’t do it with the time signature lol. I don’t know how they don’t fuck it up mid song with the timing differences among the 4 of them. This song is definitely genius! :)
Best song about aging. …This whole album is. What an awesome journey. What amazes me is how genius TOOL is, and yet, this is just one part of their lives. All these guys have so many other cool gigs going on. Maynard said it best , “We take our music seriously, but not ourselves.”

Seeing them live was one of the greatest experiences of my life
Indeed. Couldn't agree more. My brilliant daughter, Bronwyn got me a ticket to see them in Toronto recently. Sadly, I have a brain injury that massively affects my memory.... so I can't remember the experience. 😢 I've been into Tool for as long as I can remember.... and admittedly, my long term memory is much better, so it's been a long time.
holy shit...the sound quality on this is astounding......
Transcendent experience? Sounds like a Tool concert!
They’re reall quite something live huh! 😁👍🏻
wow man you're an ideal father. And did your daughter like the first concert?
Like Shpongle.
Lame
and the band hates fans that post videos. Their take is that the TOOL show is a live experience that people pay a lot and travel far for, so it shouldn't be posted, if you want to experience it you need to go to a show. Adam said this to me personally....

So pumped!!

Same. I was absolutely dumbfounded. Picking my jaw off the floor several times throughout. Can NOT wait to see them again.
Me: At least have the Goddamned decency to adjust your screen brightness to it's lowest setting. 😠

I have been a fan since 93 and a deep fan since 2001. I saw them in Tampa at the same show as you for the first time ever. I was telling my wife at the show there was only one other concert that I saw that meant so much to me. It was the Wall concert in Berlin 1990.

@@packimann those Maynard screams he did all those years basically burned his vocal cords.
You know that's what the song's about, right?
