Not only is the character female, but the actress playing that role is also a non-binary person. So, the so called "diversity card" is completely covered without anyone even noticing it. Tatiana literally has no winning argument against this
Normal people don’t have a problem with strong female characters. We have problems with poorly written and annoying characters, and some of us have an extra problem with characters that feel like agendas.
Yes because with a male character you can do pretty much whatever you wish but if you do the same to a female character the feminist will throw a tantrum
I don't know if Tatiana Maslany will ever move on. And I don't know why she is more concerned about more female characters getting featured, instead of calling out writers for making bad stuff that ruins female Marvel characters.
idk about how other people think but as a kid since the first time i saw she hulk, she seemed like a nice aunty that's actually funny type of character, but sheesh this one is just sexism masked as empowerment
As a woman, I really loved Deadpool and Wolverine. Literally the main antagonist was a strong female character. I feel like movies and shows are losing the whole definition of "strong female characters". The main antagonist in Deadpool wasn't strong because she was literally the strongest character in existence, but because she had DEPTH to her character! She felt resentment towards her brother, while at the same time craving that relationship she could have had with him, and her motives were because she also felt inferiority towards him. THAT is what makes a female character strong. They have flaws and desires and motives and they consistently make mistakes or choices because of their feelings inside. She-Hulk might have been a strong female character, but that show is too busy trying to portray a “strong independent woman who doesn’t need a man”. Strong female characters aren't trying to portray themselves as being strong, they just ARE strong. The problem is they MAKE IT about being a woman. Cassandra is a strong character who HAPPENS to be a woman. She-Hulk is a WOMAN who happens to be a superhero.
Actually she is 1 of those "they" people. I got no problem with that, it just seems like every person alive now seems to require we treat them as multiple humans when they are not. It's gone from genuinely a few people feeling that way, to like 95%of people and its just a lot. Idc if you identify as a parrot, you're still only 1 parrot

Don’t worry guys! She’s just jealous that Ryan, Hugh, and Shawn had the guts to do what it takes to get a movie we all wanted. And it’s rated r which is saying something!
More than that: She's bitter and spiteful that Reynolds had all of her obnoxious scenes cut from the movie after test audiences hated them. See, in addition to being a successful actor, Reynolds is also a sound businessman. He knows that in order for a business venture to be successful, it must be something that the customer wants or needs, NOT what they actively dislike. Reynolds knew that if her scenes were included, they would have completely sunk the movie. So, he did what was needed to ensure the movie would be successful, and Maslany responded by throwing temper tantrums like the spoiled brat she is, and tried to gain sympathy by claiming that it was about precious "Feminine empowerment," when it was REALLY just her personally being angry that she didn't get her way.
2:02 Showcase strong female characters? I’m just gonna take a guess she say the film with her eyes closed because aside from Cassandra, we got Jennifer Garner back as Elektra and Dafne Keen back as X-23 two strong female characters getting the spotlight once again after Fox was overtaken by the mouse.

Simple, a twerking scene that wasnt needed+bad series = Shit. Deadpool being Marvel Jesus and doing the MCU justice is what restored my hope for the MCU.
What really pisses me off is that she doesn't realize that Deadpool dancing while he's murdering goons is such a Deadpool thing to do. Meanwhile, she's twerking because god knows what for.
Wasn't that twerking scene an end credit thing? Or a deleted scene? I never watched the show cause I never cared about She-Hulk, but it's literally the only thing people bring up. Nothing about the writing or the acting or any of that. Not gonna sit here and defend the show, but I like more constructive criticism than "ew, lady does dance" when, from I've read from others, that is the sort of character She-Hulk is (that being silly and impulsive opposite of Hulk's serious and destructive).

Now that you mention it, there were actually a lot of strong female characters, but i didnt groan like with that cringe scene in Endgame where they were all "oh yeah the women of marvel yeah lets walk in slow motion so they get a good look at us and cheer" moment, i dont even have anything against female protagonist just dont focus the movie on "oh yeah btw did we mention the protagonist is FEMALE??!??! Here lets make it abundantly clear every 15-30 seconds during the course of the entire movie, hey wait a second what do you mean the movie did badly?"
Significant female characters in _Deadpool and Wolverine:_ Vanessa, NTW, Yukio, Cassandra Nova, Dogpool (yes), Elektra, X-23, Lady Deadpool, and the black TVA lady. Tatiana Midslany doesn't know what she's talking about. Like you said, she's salty af.
It's not that she doesn't know what she's talking about, it's that she's being disingenuous and lying about the true basis behind her complaints: She really doesn't care at all about "Positive female representation" or any of that crap (If she did, as you said, she'd have been happy over the many strong female characters that already were in the movie); She only cares about her own ego, career and bank account. At the core, she's just bitter and spiteful about the fact that her obnoxious scenes were rightfully cut from the movie after test audiences understandably hated them. This hindered her chances to play She- Hulk in future films (And thus make big bucks in the process), so she's throwing temper tantrums like the spoiled little brat that she is, and is superficially claiming that she's sad about "The lack of female empowerment" as a cynical ploy to try and get more people to side with her.
When I heard she was fired from marvel I was overjoyed. Let's replace the other actresses next with actual good actresses like wonder woman's actress!!!

Jeez, maybe if you actually gave us the comic version of she hulk instead of cramming feminism down the audiences throat, then maybe your show would’ve attained a second season. Plenty of ways to express powerful women without having to announce it with “are you undermining me because I’m a woman? I’m more than capable bla bla bla”. People don’t watch mcu shows and movies for political shit. They watch it to enjoy explosions and fighting. And you wonder why dead pool succeeded 3, lmao

"Focused too much onentertaining fans with pure entertainment" So she says the movie wasn't used for realworld politics and just gave the customers what they want? Thanks for this shining review!
So, when I used to write, my goal was to write a strong female lead character because there just weren't that many at the time. So many writers today (especially in holiday) have no idea what makes a female character strong. They always end up tripping over themselves by making said female better than everyone else or never learning their lesson at the end of the day/story. The status remains the same each time and the character never grows. A lot of shows today just think it's "make her relatable to every girl watching, also make her sassy, also make her super smart, also give her a random vulnerability to exploit, also she NEEDS to be the one to save the day."
After watching the 2003 and 2008 Hulk movies, I just kind of gave up on the idea of a good Hulk movie ever being released. That attitude bled over onto She Hulk, which maybe wasn't exactly fair, but turned out to be accurate.
Since you didn't even finish the first episode, I might as well tell you this. I think that was the best episode from that show oof. Well, that and the last one. And the second to last one. But yeah, the first episode was one of the okay episodes from that show while others were lame.
She's really upset because she filmed two cameos for the new deadpool movie, and they were both cut. Because nobody cares about seeing she Hulk in a deadpool movie unless it was to diss her lol

That's an excellent answer and excellent point. We should stop caring about what gender a character has as long as it is well written and adds value to the story. I'm a big fan of your comment.
Source? I have looked around, and not seen anything about her saying these things anywhere. The closest thing I found was her being pissed about her scenes getting cut.
There doesn’t appear to be any verified reports of Tatiana Maslany (the actress who plays She-Hulk) publicly criticizing Deadpool 3 for lacking female characters. While some online chatter suggests friction between actors or commentary about gender representation in the MCU, there’s no credible source supporting the claim that Maslany has specifically taken issue with Deadpool 3 in this regard. In fact, most recent discussions involving Maslany and Deadpool have been positive, with her expressing interest in a potential crossover between She-Hulk and Deadpool. She has even playfully talked about their shared meta-humor and hinted at how the characters could interact in future MCU projects . It seems that these rumors circulating on UA-cam might be more about gaining views rather than reporting actual news.
3:56 this is why we will never be happy on earth, come on just get over it and move forward if you complained less you’d look and learn from their success and make a good film
3:01 "for appealing to an older audience" if this is true, does she have some problem with her thinking capacity? Marvel has been out for how long? Does she think kids now are gonna break into pieces or does she think R-rated is just for show?

She isn't right, because she never said this. This story is made up.
Thank you; very well thought through and articulated!
Actually she is 1 of those "they" people. I got no problem with that, it just seems like every person alive now seems to require we treat them as multiple humans when they are not.

In fact, most recent discussions involving Maslany and Deadpool have been positive, with her expressing interest in a potential crossover between She-Hulk and Deadpool. "It's called Deadpool and Wolverine, not 'Everyone Gets a Cameo'" - or, as Wolverine said, "Not everyone gets a speech." :)
Does anyone actually have sources to where she said all of this?
1:26 that’s the point of movies and if you want strong female characters then you have to make sure they are well written and have flaws and Deadpool and Wolverine is meant to be violent because that’s how they act in the comics as well as a bonus is sticking to the source material of the comic
Not to mention the main villian was a woman
So, a character that doesn't give a fuck and likes violence should not swear and be rude? Makes perfect sense 🤣
“The film didn’t have any powerful female leads!”
Kassandra Nova and X-23: *Are we a joke to you?*
Don't forget Lady Deadpool.
Elektra as well.
She never watched the movie

Clearly
SOURCES? I bet she didnt say half that shit
Lady Deadpool WAS in the movie though. 2:00
2:46 hell no pls no female future
Same boat with you bro😈😈
This can be taken so out of context 😭
WOW, this chick is clueless and bitter.
None of this is true. Why don't people do the tiniest bit of research before believing everything they see online for face value?
This reminds me of that scene in she-hulk where she says women are better at controlling their anger than men 😂. She's doing a great job at showing it🤣
Hahahah good one
Deadpool 3 succeeded because it was for the fans. She Hulk failed because it was about THE MESSAGE™
i like the part where they showed where this happened
@@tmasswhit10wisigma it’s most likely made up. checked around the only ppl saying this were other youtubers and a reddit post. no twitter screenshots, no news articles, nothing
Male audiences don’t hate Strong female leads, they hate poorly written female leads.
She’s mad because an action movie had action and because Ryan actually researched and represented his character well?
