To be fair, Stan Lee didn't create Deadpool, but the sentiment is 1000% right, Marvel broke out from DC's shadow specifically because they took the unsafe route and made their characters flawed and human, rather than perfect paragons of justice every time; even the stereotype of wanting a 'gen z' sidekick dates back to the mentality that inspired Robin and Speedy for Batman and Green Arrow respectively. Imagine learning that Spider-man was a selfish 'gen z' kid of the day who resented everyone and used his money for fame and publicity. Deadpool is everything that made Marvel exceptional and Disney is taking it and sucking the souls out like a dementor. Even the Fantastic Four was exceptional for being a bunch of overzealous scientists, and what having their powers mean for them - particularly their friend who became the Thing who just did a friend a favor (seriously the Thing was awesome in the old school stories). If Stan Lee were alive still, he'd be batting for him every step of the way against Bob Iger; like, to me, Diversity, Equality and Inclusion is important, but that's always been important for Marvel in the comics; what this is isn't inclusion, it's exclusion and deconstruction - and probably blackmail. As far as I'm concerned, they're crucifying Marvel Jesus. DEI is not about diversity, equality, or inclusion, it's about power and ego, nothing more.

I want to get it, for that struggle to 'click' rather than just be told why I'm evil for not being LGBTQ+ myself. Subtlety and subtext can go a long way. Not to mention feeling excluded can drive a lot of people to deny what their own actual sexuality is just to fit in, causing the exact same problem from the other direction. What I want is substance. I bet Ryan and Hugh read the comics to learn their characters; pretty sure most of the other MCU cast just went with what the writers cranked out. Even earlier, they bought Star Wars, killed off almost everyone to start it again with all new people. The most sudden and violent way rather than just ageing them out and having it be later or something that fans could tolerate and understand and would make sense. The bought Marvel and killed off Gamorra, Black Widow, Iron Man, forcibly retired Cap, killed off half the universe then brought them back to have many die again. All so they could start it over with their own new people. Disney has been screwing things up for everyone when they started buying the big franchises just to change them, and when they started with the "real life" reboots rather than taking an accepted method of introducing cultures by telling the old stories of those cultures. They want inclusion and representation, that's what you do. Share the cultures with those cultures starring in the appropriate way. Not taking their own old stuff and changing it horribly so that it dishonors the original stories (that weren't Disney anyway, they were mostly really old European horror stories that they changed dramatically to make them all friendly and sweet rather than the horror stories parents told their kids to keep them in line). Too many other studios and even tv shows are forcing all of this junk as well and it's not good, it's not entertaining, they're just shoving bs down our throats and we hate them all for it.

Sadly it won't work. The grand majority hates the approach Disney is going for on every movie, but a grand part of that majority still watches because either some have faith this one movie will me different (know some people that are like this) or because "OH MY GOD ITS SPIDER MAN" type stuff. What they don't realize is that all of us were always wanting a superhero movie that would keep the same actor as the superhero throughout the whole damn movie series. Every time we turned around we were getting a new Batman or a new Superman. I’m Gen z and a homosexual and my personal opinion is that they shouldn’t make it gay. First of all, if people want to see the characters as homosexual, they can simply read fanfictions or the comics. I believe Loki has been bisexual and genderfluid in the comics since 2014 and people mentioned that Deadpool was pansexual but I can’t find the sources for Deadpool. Secondly, they don’t have the right fan base. The fans aren’t there for romance. The fans want to see a silly movie with fighting, comedy and a decent amount of gore. Third, the writers are terrible at romance. The straight romances aren’t that bad since they’re kind of just there and aren’t part of the plot, easily ignorable, but for homosexual relationships the writers would use it just to get more attention. They would focus on it, and it would be awkward and unnatural. I had another point but I forgot it while writing the third so I’m ending it here lol.

Companies have been listening to a loud minority, and as a result, my forms of entertainment and escapism have been jeopardized by forced DEI propaganda in recent years. As a Filipino-Canadian, I loved that Ned was Filipino in Tom Holland's Spiderman, but at the end of the day, it wouldn't matter if he was a boring character simply thrown in for "diversity" like many other characters these days or if the story just sucked (Thankfully Ned was funny and the movies were good). You don't need to force project other races or identities into a story. Just write a good story, and if there are diverse characters, good. But don't make that a priority.

Even earlier, they bought Star Wars, killed off almost everyone to start it again with all new people. The most sudden and violent way rather than just ageing them out and having it be later or something that fans could tolerate and understand and would make sense. The bought Marvel and killed off Gamorra, Black Widow, Iron Man, forcibly retired Cap, killed off half the universe then brought them back to have many die again. All so they could start it over with their own new people. Disney has been screwing things up for everyone when they started buying the big franchises just to change them, and when they started with the "real life" reboots rather than taking an accepted method of introducing cultures by telling the old stories of those cultures. They want inclusion and representation, that's what you do. Share the cultures with those cultures starring in the appropriate way. Not taking their own old stuff and changing it horribly so that it dishonors the original stories (that weren't Disney anyway, they were mostly really old European horror stories that they changed dramatically to make them all friendly and sweet rather than the horror stories parents told their kids to keep them in line). Too many other studios and even tv shows are forcing all of this junk as well and it's not good, it's not entertaining, they're just shoving bs down our throats and we hate them all for it.

What they don't realize is that all of us were always wanting a superhero movie that would keep the same actor as the superhero throughout the whole damn movie series. Every time we turned around we were getting a new Batman or a new Superman. Ryan being the original Deadpool from the point they screwed him up in the first appearance all the way to the third Deadpool movie make Deadpool relatable and keeps his likability at almost 100%. I’m Gen z and a homosexual and my personal opinion is that they shouldn’t make it gay.
First of all, if people want to see the characters as homosexual, they can simply read fanfictions or the comics. I believe Loki has been bisexual and genderfluid in the comics since 2014 and people mentioned that Deadpool was pansexual but I can’t find the sources for Deadpool.
Secondly, they don’t have the right fan base. The fans aren’t there for romance. The fans want to see a silly movie with fighting, comedy and a decent amount of gore.
Third, the writers are terrible at romance. The straight romances aren’t that bad since they’re kind of just there and aren’t part of the plot, easily ignorable, but for homosexual relationships the writers would use it just to get more attention. They would focus on it, and it would be awkward and unnatural.

Companies have been listening to a loud minority, and as a result, my forms of entertainment and escapism have been jeopardized by forced DEI propaganda in recent years. As a Filipino-Canadian, I loved that Ned was Filipino in Tom Holland's Spiderman, but at the end of the day, it wouldn't matter if he was a boring character simply thrown in for "diversity" like many other characters these days or if the story just sucked (Thankfully Ned was funny and the movies were good). You don't need to force project other races or identities into a story. Just write a good story, and if there are diverse characters, good. But don't make that a priority.
