Wait, so that foxbody made 11858 ft/lbs of torque?!?
3921hp at 8385rpm comes out to 2456lbft or 3330Nm.
So that would probably mean wheel torque. 11858 divided by 2456 means that the transmission and differential together must have a gearing of 4.83:1. Usually you do this in one of the higher gears so that seems about right.

I've actually met the guy who owns that Cobra. It's absolutely gorgeous and from what the guy told me, it has 6 gears with 6 gear overdrive (or subgears.) Good to see videos of him still running it. ^^,

I've actually driven a 1948 Ford 8N, and I can say that I would not want to be driving one with anywhere near that much power. It was scary enough doing about 12 mph bone stock, (which was all she had to give) I couldn't imagine how much faster that beast would go. And keep in mind that with these 8Ns, the rear diff is bolted directly to the frame, and while the front "axle" can pivot in the middle, there're no shocks or springs, the only real shock absorbing you've got is a leaf spring between the frame and the seat, making the ride incredibly rough, and not something you'd want with anywhere near 500 hp. It does look like this build might have independent front suspension though, but it also has manual steering, and the stock one I drove had no castor, (Though the built one might) which means that the wheels don't automatically come back to center if you let go of the wheel while accelerating, they just stay where you left them. They also only have rear brakes, and they're unassisted, mechanical drums, so not only do you not have a brake booster to make pressing the brakes easier, you also don't have the benefit of hydraulic brakes like in a car, where the design of the brake system increases the power of the brakes relative to your leg's strength, and this build still has two brake pedals, (One for each side) so I don't think they've changed those. All in all, it's a very sketchy, dangerous thing to drive, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere near it. EDIT: And it has it's exhaust exiting right in your face, instead of behind and below you, so carbon monoxide poisoning is another concern.

Drag cars are built for fast times but if they want their engines to last they need to be iron blocks. You can get special cylinder inserts to get more pressure but you still need enough bolts to hold the header in place. Aluminum blocks are lighter but are weak, this is why they get cylinder inserts.
