I totally agree with you :). My dad is the strictest person EVER and still at the ripe age of 23 he says something about my hair but I still lighten it💁🏼♀️. I used hair lightening spray over summer and high lift now. So worth it🤣
My tip- If your hair is longer than shoulder length, buy 2 boxes of hair dye. If you don’t end up needing the second box, just use it in a couple months when your hair color has faded. When my hair was chest length, I bought one box of hair dye and it wasn’t enough to do all of my hair. Luckily, my niece was dyeing her hair at the same time, and I used what was left of hers.
I do it this way, too. It is actually easier than any other way I have seen on UA-cam. But this is only my third time doing it myself. It gets easier each time you do it again.

I don't do it this way. First you can only clip your hair up if it's long enough. With shorter hair it's not necessary. I still divide the hair though. I apply the color to the roots first and work it on with my finger so it's well applied. Then I wait the 25 minutes, then apply more color the rest to my hair and leave it on only ten minutes. The older hair has been colored before so you shouldn't leave color on as long. Then I comb it all through. Rinse it and wash the hair twice. I've been coloring my hair for years and this always works for me.
It depends if it's permanent or semi-permanent colour. If it's permanent, it contains bleach and you should do roots at the end of dyeing. If it's just semi-permanent, without bleach, you can start with roots.

Jenna Marie you really needed to color the roots after. When you color the roots first it will be brighter than the rest of your hair because we have a natural heat on our head so it is really recommended to color an inch away from the root up to the tips then later on you can color the roots

Godrej, garnier, loreal are good if you wanna hide greys but if you want noticeable haircolor change try streax i have stubborn black hair but streax does the job.....☺ tried their browns n reds n results r amazing
You actually don't start with your roots ... You need to leave the roots for last. If there is any breakage from leaving it on too long or something it won't break at the root.

If it isn’t working for you and you have dark hair, it’s because you need to bleach your hair first. A color that’s lighter than your hair won’t show.

Godrej, garnier, loreal are good if you wanna hide greys but if you want noticeable haircolor change try streax i have stubborn black hair but streax does the job.....☺ tried their browns n reds n results r amazing

You actually don't start with your roots ... You need to leave the roots for last. If there is any breakage from leaving it on too long or something it won't break at the root.
