  • Hey guys, in this hair dye tutorial, I will show you how to color your hair at home using drugstore box dye kits. These kits are actually very easy to use and I'll also share some tips and tricks for brunettes. ♥
    The hair dye color I used: L'Oreal Casting Creme 503 Golden Chocolate
    ♥ Visit my blog for more pics and tips: www.justbebexo.com/hair-dye-ti...
    This video will cover the following:
    1. How to prepare before coloring.
    2. Tools you need before, during, and after coloring.
    3. How to apply haircolor step-by-step.
    4. Tips to avoid haircolor disaster.
    5. How to choose your color.
    My hair coloring tips work best for dark hair or brunettes like myself. When choosing a hair color, go with two shades lighter or darker than your current hair color. At-home hair dye is perfect if you're doing a single process or one color. If you want to add highlights, ombres, or go from black to blonde. Seek a professional hair color technician. I don't want to be held responsible for any mishaps. lol
    Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll address it in my future root touch-up video where I show you how to go from back hair to brown hair. I just need my hair to grow out a bit more for that video.
    *** If you decide to recreate these hairstyles, hashtag #Bebexo and tag me on instagram (@neebebe) so I can see your creations and feature your posts on my social media platforms. ^_^

    I always get my hair dyed at home, but I've never tried sectioning my hair into smaller sections like you! I think sectioning hair into four smaller sections to make it easy to work with is the greatest tip in this video :) And I think using the mixing bowl and brush also makes the whole process easier.

Right now im not sure if your tutorial was really really helpful, or maybe i completely messed her hair up, because of how easy that whole process was. I mean it didnt take time at all. compared to my previous attempt on coloring her hair. I hope this works. Thanks a lot for the tips and techniques. Do not start at the hairline! If you have virgin hair start at the bottoms and leave about 1-2 inches of roots, then put dye on the roots. So basically leave the dye on roots for half the time compared to the rest. You will get bright roots if you don't!

    Hi Née, I just wanted to thank you so much for your video! I faced the maiden voyage of dying my hair last night (to cover up the white hairs I now have 😏) and your tutorial was a huge blessing! You explain everything so well- step by step. The only tip I would add is to put on a long sleeved smock or bottom up shirt. Getting black hair dye on my arms was not good. Lol!

    Great tip, dividing your hair in four parts. I only dye my roots and my hair is a little bit shorter than yours but it is very difficult to dye the roots in your neck when you have all that hanging over it . So this will certainly help. Thanks! I usually use the Manic Panic dyes to achieve my red hair ( no bleach so it blends with my natural brown hair to create a nice dark red. ) but it doesn't last as I long as I hoped for so I turned to this l'oreal semi permenant. I choice the redish tint auburn.
    Hope it goes well :D

    1) Does semi-permanent dye last as long on blondes as it says on the package and if not how many times longer does it last?
    2) What are the best and the worst brands of hair dye?
    3) Is your hair damaged after doing semi-permanent dye?

    I'm a total advocate for home-kit dyeing when you're not making a dramatic change! I have naturally dark brown hair and I find it doesn't suit me because of my skin tone, so I've been dyeing it a dark red every six months or so (or just whenever I need a bit more red again) for the past three years and it works a treat! It comes out quite bright for the first week or so, but after I wash it a couple of times it fades to a lovely reddy-brown! I have, however, tried to do my own ombre in the past and it has NOT worked in my favour, so I feel like unless you're confident in your own skills, go to a professional!

    Also, plastic bags are actually not supposed to be used with chemical dyes (Only with herbal dyes like henna.), they can actually be dangerous by increasing the risk of allergic reaction (as the chemicals are trapped there close to your scalp)!!
    Oh, and Casting Creme gloss is often permanent and not semi-permanent, as it seems in your case since you have roots (unless you used another dye before) :)

    OMG How do you do this so perfectly? My hair is down to my waist and I need 2 towels around me and towels all over the floor - and I still manage to get the dye everywhere :( I need to try the mixing bowl method, too. Would a plain plastic bowl and, say, a paint brush work as well? I don't have any beauty supply stores around where I live, so what would a good alternative be? :(

      I have found a L'Oréal permanent hair dye that is meant for darker hair, my friend has already tried it (she has dark brown hair) and it leaves a beautiful purple shine onto it, it's kind of subtle but still beautiful, maybe you can try that

    • @guyfawkes6

      They have midnight splat. It’s meant to go on darker hair. It gave my hair a nice blue tint. But be super careful if you use it, because it will stain like hell. I read that before I tried it so I rinsed my hair directly above the drain and I had no issues with it staining the tub!

    You're not supposed to brush through color product and if you roll the hair up then it will be uneven.

    • @mickylalambert5425
      @mickylalambert5425 7 років тому +9

      Actually your supposed to use a brush to apply hairdye as they do in professional salons.. using just hands can increase risk of patchyness and uneven colour

    • @nicolen7284
      @nicolen7284 7 років тому +7

      Mickyla Lambert She's right. You can use the brush to apply but afterwards youre not supposed to brush the hair dye, that would only brush away the product. And to roll your hair up would make it uneven, the hair should be left down.

    Thank you! I do not always have time to sit in a salon when I am busy with exams! I never thought to use the brush to apply dye, I always just rubbed it in with my hands... always seemed to miss spots! I feel like this is going to ensure that when I have to use a box (started going grey at 28) that I will be able to get to everything :)

      There's actually a ton of box hair dyes that will lighten your hair and they're made for darker hair. Like if you wanted to go from dark brown to light brown there's box dyes for that and it has little peroxide in the mixture.

    • @outtahere3902
      @outtahere3902 3 роки тому +1

      well the woman in the video wants to *touch up her roots* since her natural roots are growing out so it would make sense to start with the roots first in this case. But if someone were to start off wanting tp dye their whole head, and if they have virgin hair- to prevent "hot roots" yes starting from the ends and working up towards the roots is how it should be done :) hope that helps.

    WARNING to ANYONE TRYING THIS BRAND FOR THE FIRST TIME. They have put the COLORANT in the same tube that is ALWAYS used for the CONDITIONER in several other brands I have used such as John Frieda and Perfect 10 by Clairol. Having colored my hair myself for decades I made the mistake because I didn't take the time to READ - I just in a rush - as the contents in the box appeared IDENTICAL to the other brands I have used. Yes, it is my own fault so no need to trash me here and call me an idiot!! LOL!. I will buy another one as I wouldn't be entitled to claim a refund nor would I even request one but just in case anyone else, like me, who has never tried this particular brand before - BEWARE.

    As a hairstylist, yes we don't like box color but we love the color corrections we do whenever they attempt to color their hair and it comes uneven. As you can see here her (roots) new growth came out darker than the rest of the hair. The back is darker and the front top part is lighter. This is do to the plastic bag and the hair been all squeeze together not giving it the color air to process. You're welcome!!!
