If you've got the "not enough space on USB" problem, that's because a single file in the win install is larger than 4g, which conflicts with the mac fat settings. It looks working perfectly but the problem is what it takes about 5 minutes to load up sign-in screen. I’m not sure if everyone is also waiting this long. Please tell me how long everyone waits for it!
Got it to work on my 2010 MacBook with El Capitan (BootCamp 6.0). If anyone gets stuck "copying windows files" in bootcamp, just let it work for about an hour. Took forever on mine. I'm pretty sure it will work on Sierra as well, you just have to download BootCamp 6.0
Spence the first 3 quarters were fast (5mins), but now I’m stuck at 75%. I use bootcamp 6.0 same as y’all. I haven’t waited for an hour, but I’m worried because why was it fast and now stuck at 76%?
Thanks A Bunch for this!!!! I am trying to install Windows 8.1 on my MacBook Pro early 2011. I did everything in the video (great video by the way), and when I get to the install windows screen upon boot from EFI (USB), when I get to the point where it says where to you want to install Windows, I get an error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks." Tried the diskpart and list disk in the command prompt (when hitting shift F10 from install screen), and that doesn't work for me. Don't know what else to do....
The problem is discussed in other forums. I don't know if I am allowed to post direct links to articles. Please search two articles: ""Windows detects GPT disk as MBR in EFI boot" and "I found and installed a OS X command line utility 'gdisk' which changed the hybrid MBR data to allow Windows to install properly"
Restart and hold option (if you have a Microsoft keyboard its the left Alt), then try manually selecting the EFI boot option (disconnect any other bootable installers to make sure it's the right one). If that doesn't work, you should probably go back to macos (by doing the same thing but selecting your macos volume) and retry creating the media. I also had this problem, but I think it's because when Bootcamp restarts its unable to find your media automatically.

I have a 6.1 bootcamp. Macbookpro8,1 I changed a few things different from guide. 'prewindows10onlymodels' I deleted the "pre" and added my model here. Then it told me I couldn't use win10, so I went and found all mentions of my model (4 total) and deleted it from 'supporedNonWin10Models' (I copied that, if it's meant to be supported... Apple typoed not me) so there are only 3 mentions of my 8,1 model... All the ones I added. And then it started making the install usb with the win10.

If you already have a win 10 USB, you can just start installing it without creating a Win 10 USB, you just need to remove "Pre" from USB in the bootcamp files.
Hi. I'm running a 21.5-inch, Mid-2011 iMac. When my Mac was installing Windows 10, this came up: “No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key". I did a bit of research, and found the "Hold option strategy", I'm sure you know what I mean by that. After that, I selected my USB with Windows named "EFI Boot". After that, the Windows Starter opened up, with a blue screen in the background. I selected my language, and time and currency format, and clicked next. After that, I was left with "Install now". After a while, a window popped up, saying "Activate Windows". I typed in the product key that you left in the description. I went through the installation progress till I got to 2 boxes. The first one said this: "Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications" The second one said this: "Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)" When I clicked Upgrade, a window came up named Compatibility Report, with a text box underneath it that said: "The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using Windows installation media. If a copy of Windows is already installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After Windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run Windows Setup." This window gives me no option but to restart the setup process. If I was to click Custom, a window would come up named "Where do you want to install Windows?". Underneath is a box that shows all of my drives. Drive 0 Partition 1 Drive 0 Partition 2 Drive 0 Partition 3 Drive 0 Partition 4 On each of these drives, an annotation comes up saying "Windows can't be installed on Drive 0 Partation 1", "Drive 0 Partation 2", "3" and "4". If I click on the annotation, it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.". From there, I have no option but to restart the setup process, once again. I have tried another way however, but this one does not work. Back on the "Activate Windows" window, there is an annotation that says "I don't have a product key". If I click it, a window pops up saying "Select the operating system you want to install" which in this case, I chose "Windows 10 Pro". If I click next, I accept the Terms and Conditions and the "Which type of installation do you want?" window pops up, again. If I click either of them, the same thing happens. I truly have hit a brick wall here. Do any of you guys know how to fix this?
It tells me Windows can’t be installed on my partition drive because selected drive has an MBR partition table. Windows can only be installed to GPT disks. I’m installing windows 8
If the 'Create a Windows 7 or later' setting STILL doesn't work after the steps listed in this video, remove your model listed under 'SupporedNonWin10Models' array. Doing this made it work for me on my MBP Late 2011 model running High Sierra. Unsure why Apple didn't spell 'supported' correct or because they ran out of characters on the tag.

Ive spent part of 5 hours trying to get this working today. You can install Windows 7 fine using the previous video but you have to create a bootable DVD as the machine just won't recognise a bootable USB despite what the videos shows. And you can't make a bootable Win10 DVD as the ISOs are too big.
This video shows how to make bootable DVD, but says it has to be made on the native drive of the computer you are going to install Windows 10 on. I have a 2011 iMac 27in with a built in drive. I followed instructions from this video and created a Windows 10 ISO DVD. ua-cam.com/video/KJThhtD6ycs/v-deo.html

I also use MacBookPro early 2009, and tried to clean install Windows10 directly to partition disk. It looks working perfectly but the problem is what it takes about 5 minutes to load up sign-in screen.
I’m not sure if everyone is also waiting this long.
Please tell me how long everyone waits for it!
No is takes 20 to 30 secs to load but is u had installed all the drivers their boot camp you should have no problems 😉
Did you wait it out? Mine was the same way, with the first 75% taking 5 min and the rest taking an hour.
If you see bootcamp drive, Format bootcamp drive and install on that,
The problem is discussed in other forums. I don't know if I am allowed to post direct links to articles. Please search two articles: ""Windows detects GPT disk as MBR in EFI boot" and "I found and installed a OS X command line utility 'gdisk' which changed the hybrid MBR data to allow Windows to install properly"

hope it can work for you
Restart and hold option (if you have a Microsoft keyboard its the left Alt), then try manually selecting the EFI boot option (disconnect any other bootable installers to make sure it's the right one). If that doesn't work, you should probably go back to macos (by doing the same thing but selecting your macos volume) and retry creating the media. I also had this problem, but I think it's because when Bootcamp restarts its unable to find your media automatically.
Thanks bro you really made this easy. Wish I had saw your video first. I watched a different video on how to do this and it was hella confusing. Keep up the good work!

Hi. I'm running a 21.5-inch, Mid-2011 iMac. When my Mac was installing Windows 10, this came up:
“No bootable device - insert boot disk and press any key".
The first one said this:
"Upgrade: Install Windows and keep files, settings, and applications"
The second one said this:
"Custom: Install Windows only (advanced)"
When I clicked Upgrade, a window came up named Compatibility Report, with a text box underneath it that said:
"The upgrade option isn't available if you start your computer using Windows installation media. If a copy of Windows is already installed on this computer and you want to upgrade, remove the installation media and restart your computer. After Windows has started normally, insert the installation media and run Windows Setup."
This window gives me no option but to restart the setup process.
If I was to click Custom, a window would come up named "Where do you want to install Windows?". Underneath is a box that shows all of my drives.
Drive 0 Partition 1
Drive 0 Partition 2
Drive 0 Partition 3
Drive 0 Partition 4
On each of these drives, an annotation comes up saying "Windows can't be installed on Drive 0 Partation 1", "Drive 0 Partation 2", "3" and "4".
