Hello! Im trying to download windows 10 on my computer but the "Select Tasks" option is still thee and I can get rid of it. Is there any way to get rid of it or should I get a newer computer?
Normally I don't even sign in to youtube if I don't have to, but here I am to thank you man. Not just it helped me but for being so very specific about every issue on this WIN on MAC stuff. May be worth nothing but you earned my respect. Wish you the best.
Thank you so much!!! FYI: In High Sierra DARequiredROMVersions is now called CFBundleSupportedPlatforms. Everything else in this video worked for High Sierra.
Hilarious that Apple creates this "assistant", and yet everybody is having to hack around it to get it to work. Shameful on Apple's part. Perhaps they should user test their software.
For a warning for anyone who uses this video it should work although some steps are unnecessary and you should absolutely Reenable system integrity once you complete these steps.
OK guys figure out the problem so when you copy the the ROMz what you got to do is copy that and go to the CF bundle supported platforms and just pieced it there and it works
Does not need xcode at all use text editor & add your own string - any way thanks for the tip add your own model below the like this mine is 4,1 MB41 MB4,1 MB means macbook these are older models MBP means macbook pro MBA means macbook air
You’re amazing! UA-cam tutorials never work but this did! However for anyone seeing this you can do it without the tool because it’s hard to download in 2023, just edit it like how he did but put before you put your computer’s model and after. Awesome stuff!
This is awesome, thanks! The part where DARomVersion isn't necessary in my case. I couldn't find it on the .plist but I thought forget about it and tried BootCamp again and it worked!
Thanks a million, have an old 2009 MacBook Pro 13 that I wiped & re installed El Capitan but was having issues installing boot camp windows iso, found your video & even though it took longer as I had to download & install Xcode app the end result was the same & I'm now currently creating a win boot up disk, top man
2009 Macbook Pro here too. Do you remember what version of Xcode you installed? I get warnings from versions 3.0 and 3.2 that they are not compatible with the system...
no need to install xcode or change csrutil to disable :D just drag list into the desktop change open it with texteditor change same things into file and then drag it back again and thats all, p.s. if you dont have DARequiredROMVersions thats no problem, also check in the list file windows 10 option and add there your mac name too
This! Save a lot of time and frustration. I had a terrible day trying to figure this stuff out, don't be me. Also, I had to copy Boot Camp Assistant to the desktop as well because of permission issues I could not get passed in the Utilities folder for whatever reason. On the plus side, you're working on a copy this way. Thanks.
I did not have DARequiredROMVersions. So I added iMac16,2 (my mac) to ExternalInstallOnlyModels and it gave me the option to create my Win 8.1 usb after closing and reopening BootCamp. Hope I helped someone. Note I did not see the option to create a Win 7 USB, it was Win 8 and above.
Ooh gosh, I had been finding this for so long and was led here by your other videos. Thanks so much! My school doesn't support mac and using softwares for Windows...
This worked on my 2011 Macbook Pro 8,1. I had to use gDisk to alter my partition scheme as Windows doesn't play nicely with a hybrid MBR. The process is very easy as it's just a couple lines in Terminal. Also, when finishing the gDisk process, don't be afraid of the message that pops up when you want to save changes. It says it will erase partitions, this doesn't affect your data.
This didn't work for me. For some odd reason, PreESDReduiredModel and PreUEFIModels were not present and PreUSBBootSupportedModels already was listed without the Pre, but listed under it were things like IMI30 and MBA40
I have the same computer Model, did everything..I even added the "DARequiredROMVersions" option, which my bootcamp file did not had. When I open bootcamp I get a message, your startup disk need at least 49GB---I have like 200gb free of storage, then it shows me the two first options enabled, but the third option "install windows" is disabled (grayed-out). Help me..thank you.
Thanks man, I was stopped for weeks and even though I haven't been able to launch it, I've already taken some steps thanks to your video, my osx is Lion 10.7 Mac from 2008 White, it crashed here in csrutil disable
THANK YOU! I did not have DARequiredROMVersions as the comment below me said as well, but closing out and starting BootCamp brought up the option to create an install disk. Its working on doing so right now. Hoping this will finally get Windows 7 on my Mac so I can get rid of slow slow slow slow VirtualBox.
Thanks for the video! I managed to make the first option available, but on the third step it creates the partition, reboot, but displays the messsage "No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press key". Any idea on how to solve it? I didn't have the DARequiredROMversions, so I added it, and also added my model (iMac12,1) to ExternationInstall, USBBootSupported, PreWindows10OnlyModels, as someone did in the comments. Again, thank you very much!
Hi there. I cannot get this to work on Mojave. :( I have tried absolutely everything but still only see the install windows 10 option. I no my MBP model is supported with 7 as i have had it installed before.

When I'm trying to disable csr in recovery mode, I've got this error: "csrutil disable command not found". Any idea how to fix it? I'm using OSX Yosemite 10.10.5.
What i did was I typed csr, then hit tab then got the command then copied it then pasted it into the terminal, i dont know but i had this issue too but for some reason this worked... hope it works for you!

On my late 2010 MacBook Air 11 inch after I select the ISO and destination disk and click continue it says “Windows 8 is not supported on this Mac”, “Boot Camp only supports installing Windows 7 on this Mac. Please insert a USB drive or DVD which contains a full version of Windows 7.” Any advice? My ISO is a Windows 10 ISO.

I’m having an issue when I restart my Mac and hold r and cmd buttons but nothing popped up it just made annoying error noises. So I went to terminal on spot search thing and typed what you typed and it said “failed to modify system integrity configuration. This tool needs to be executed from the Recovery OS.” Someone anyone please help I really wanna use windows 10 on Mac. I noticed when adding the macbok, mine was already listed, put i needed to remove as you said the PRE from USBboot supported models. Do you think I would still need to add the ROMS version? since I am not being able to find that section when using text editor.
I get to the point where it is copying the files and then it stops and gives me an error saying the bootable usb could not be created, there is not enough space on the disk. I used a 32GB usb and set it up as the video says. Please help!

after years your video is still the best solution on the web for this annoying problem
Thanks! The .plist file is just an XML text file that you can edit with TextEdit or any other text editor. No need to mess around with Xcode if you don't already have it. Also, no need to disable system integrity checking for this, since it's not an executable file.
"Boot Camp Assistant 6.1.0, Copyright © 2018" that came with Mojave refused to run for me, saying my 2010 Mac Pro wasn't supported. Yet, I can run the "Boot Camp Assistant 6.1.0, Copyright © 2016" that came with Sierra - under Mojave! Identical version numbers, but different copyright dates and a lot of changed contents.
still helping people in 2023!. Thanks.
