I have been involved for many years in corporate training. I have never seen a better presentation as this one. Reason 1, it is pithy, there is nothing in the video that is information you don't need to know. Reason 2, Everything you do need to know is there. Reason 3 it is in logical order. Reason 4, there are no ah's, um's and other sounds that have nothing to do with the presentation. Reason 4 gives you the information you need to know before you begin to listen to someone's presentation that they don't know what they are talking about. The presentation by Mr. Carney hit all the numbers and was a pleasure to listen to before my boot camping my MAC. Thank you
What an excellent tutorial. I was quite intimidated by the whole process but I followed this turorial step by step and within an hour had both windows and OS X on my MacBook Pro! Thanks!

Hey I started follow your tutorial, but i am facing a problem. I created the parition fat format on the usb. i have my window 7 cd in my macbook pro. when i go to bootcampe assistant it keep saying "THE STARTUP DISK CANNOT BE PARTITIONED OR RESTORED TO A SINGLE PARTITION. The startup disk must be formatted as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume or already partitioned by Boot Camp Assistant for installing Windows." I can check the option where it says Download the latest window support from apple. but I cannot check or uncheck where it says install or remove window 7 or later versoin. if you can plz help me out thank you
I'm trying to install from an ISO but get the error *"Can't download the software because of a network problem."* .. I loaded the drivers to a USB but creating an install disk from an ISO erases the content so I'm stuck.. My mac doesn't have a cd-drive..
Bootcamp will not allow you install windows from an ISO. Should be a CD/DVD, otherwise it could be ilegot copy of windows. You need an original Windows CD. If you don't have original, just install the ISO on a CD and make it booteable. This is an other story but it's not that hard. The best way to install Windows if you don't have a CD/DVD bootable. if you only want to use the ISO you have, I highly recommend you to follow this awesome video. thank you so much for making this video, it was very informal and now I can easily put windows 7 on my MacBook Pro. I loved how you explained why you did each step and what it does, that helped a ton, thanks :)

Great video! Cleared up most of my questions, except for a few. So, I will need a Windows 7 install DVD, correct? And at what point in this process do you put the Windows DVD in?
Thank you so much for the clear instructions. I actually had to install windows on a Mac on my first day if work and I was unsure on how to do it. I was confident I did it well though after watching this video. :)
I believe I followed all the steps correctly, I made a bootable flash disk from an iso and I had already download the bootcamp support software awhile ago. I designated space for windows on the bootcamp assistant then it restarted, everything turned out alright until the point it restarted, when it came back to the installation after restarting I had lost mouse and keyboard input and was thus unable to continue the process. I was using a usb mouse and keyboard so I don't know where the problem lay... I have a late 2013 27 inch iMac running OS X El Capitan with Boot Camp 6.0.1. where is my problem? Has anyone ever had success with a late 2013 iMac with OS X El Capitan with Boot Camp 6.0.1? has Windows 7 support been removed from the latest bootcamp?
@9:01 Remember, he mentions that you need the internal optical DVD drive or an external apple drive. I was using an off brand external drive that didn't work. I ended up swapping out the broken internal DVD drive for a new one ($10 on Ebay) and it worked great. This may hopefully save someone some time.
If someone got the following error message in the Boot Camp Assistant: “Please format the USB drive as single FAT partition.”, you need to do this: 1. Open the Terminal application. You can find it by searching Spotlight for "Terminal" (sans quotes). 2. In Terminal, type diskutil list and hit enter. 3. Look at the results and determine the identifier of your target USB drive. It will look like this: /dev/diskX. If you have only one external drive connected, this should be easy to figure out (hint: behind the identifier it says (internal, ...) or (external, ...)). 4. Run the following command to reformat your USB drive: diskutil partitionDisk /dev/diskX 1 MBR fat32 NAME 8G. Replace /dev/diskX with the identifier of your drive which you obtained in the previous step. Replace NAME with the name you want to give the partition (which essentially doesn't matter). Make it all CAPS to avoid problems. Replace 8 in 8G with the number of Gigabytes you want your partition to have. It's easiest to just go with the total size of your USB drive. 5. Wait for it to complete. 6. Verify the output. The end of the command's output should show the formatting of your drive. You should see two DeviceNodes: 0, of type FDisk_partition_scheme, and 1, of type DOS_FAT_32 and with the identifier diskXs1 where X is a digit corresponding to the identifier you found in step 3. It should work now.
Great video :) very helpful but just 2 quick questions.. Can I use an external hard to segment to run windows? and will i be able to get all the performance out of my mac to run windows games?
GREAT tutorial! Just one question. Is there any way to allocate more disk space to windows after installing it or do I have to re-install the whole thing?
really good video. maybe a little question. when you download the windows support in the bootcamp assistence will it also show up in the "downloads" folder in your mac menu?

Well guided video. Just about everything I need to know and understand. Thank you heaps. You're the best!

First rate tutorial, informative and brilliantly presented . Thanks for posting .
I recently added win 7 in imac successfully. Thanks music tech fella you the Man.
If someone got the following error message in the Boot Camp Assistant: “Please format the USB drive as single FAT partition.”, you need to do this:
Thanks i was stuck in the middle of installation... Ur video was very helpful thank q. I request u to do more videos on Mac 😊👍👌👏
MusicTechHelpGuy Thanks for this video dude, really good help. Is it possible to resize the windows partition after windows is installed? Or do you have to uninstall windows and do it all over again?
Very informative video, thanks for that. Good insight on letting me know that I wouldn't be able to use my wireless keyboard initially and to have USB on stand by, that would of tripped me up for sure! :)
Thank you soo much, i faced so many issues while installing windows on Mac now am feeling happy to clear this issue, thank you so much
a PC sales man said he spends a lot of time helping apple customers install windows 7 during windows 7 sales
