I can't believe I just found this. Final Fantasy VI was my second Final Fantasy game, my first being VII. VI holds a special place in my heart, and while VII was good, VI is the one that made me love the series. All the themes, both narratively and musically were just amazing.
The full FFVI soundtrack, with the plushies all over the piano AND cosplaying as Terra... this is undeniably the cream of the crop on UA-cam!! I'd give it a million likes if I could. *o*
I keep coming back to this video periodically. "Hey I want to listen to this one song". Then I stay on for another. "I can only listen to a few, have to go to bed. Have to work tomorrow" Then I proceed to listen to the entire damn thing again. Possibly my favorite soundtrack of all time, even compared to CT.

When I see videos of seniors with dementia singing tunes in languages from their childhoods. I can't help imagine that Final Fantasy, Zelda, etc will come back to me in my 80s It's rare that a franchise's music creates such lasting memories. The amount of talent Square-Enix packed into a 16 bit platform is absurd. They brought Japanese creative culture into a generation of young minds. Borrowing mythological references from cultures throughout history, to build the fantasy world. This collection you've made is a huge accomplishment!
This is great thank you for sharing! My grandmother has Alzheimer’s and whenever I play familiar songs for her, she remembers all the words and sings along. I think you’re right that we will always remember these themes no matter what :)

I know that at some point they become aware of their decline and that coming to terms with that is terrible, but once they've lost all memories, I've always wondered whether that's torture or not. I'm probably very naive, but I always thought not being aware of dying is a blessing in disguise. I'd certainly prefer it to having cancer and knowing I only have a few weeks to live. Am I being too naive?
It truly is remarkable how the Japanese developers took these influences from western (and other parts of the world) classical music, literary works, movies, paintings, folk tales, historic lore and so forth and let them blend with their own culture to create this synergy and perfect symbiosis of art that just slays you emotionally

If you didn't play this as a child or teenager you might not understand just how powerful it was. FF4 and FF6 ran through my psyche like a freight train and I've never been the same. Nothing has ever touched me like that before or since.
I always loved the Magitek Research Facility scene. The gameplay itself, and the score are both great. I can't quite figure what a Piano arrangement might sound like. Guess in a about 40 minutes I get to find out!
You... you arranged it so you placed the pieces roughly in the order you'd encounter them in an actual playthrough of the game! Like... setting aside the brilliance of the performance itself and the amazing skill and dedication to actually play all this, you also arrange it in a way that you'd naturally encounter it as you play through the game. Even to the point of spotting that in this theoretical playthrough, when the party splits, you follow Sabin first, then Locke, then Terra, before everyone gets back together. It's just... my mind is completely blown away by your dedication to this rendition. You know, there was an official piano arrangement of like a dozen pieces? Yours is definitively better, plus it contains virtually every song in the entire game. I stand in awe of your skill and dedication.
I give that to Chrono Cross, but I certainly don't begrudge you your opinion. This game/score was the start of my enthusiastic love of video game music, and that of Nobuo Uematsu. His legacy is an incredible one. He and Johnny Williams (and a few others) wrote the score to my childhood.

This needs to be astutely listened to as the work you've done here is absolutely sublime. Do not sell yourself short for the quality of performance and accomplishment here. This coming from someone that owns the original FF6 OST, is a fellow musician and knows these tracks inside and out and has listened to the OST in its entirety at least twenty times. Absolutely incredibly well done.

I can't put into words how amazing and wonderful this is, but what I can do is say that you have "Searching for Friends" in the proper order. The official soundtrack (even the old Doremi sheet music book) puts "Searching" before "Epitaph", but in the game, "Searching" adds an uplifting feeling to the bittersweet "Epitaph" of Setzer's past, and the game itself gets its first glimmer of hope when the ship rises from the sea with this song ushering it along. It's such a natural progression from "Epitaph" to "Searching for Friends", yet they always put it out of order. I probably sound more daft than Kefka, but thank you :) You did such a beautiful thing here! *EDIT* Also on Spotify, I can play them back to back for the perfect transition from "Epitaph" into "Searching for Friends" :D

No matter if i am happy, sad, empty or euphoric, this music is like a steamroller crushing my heart, afterwards I am left with a sense of pure loss, childish innocense and the most profound sadness, and still I listen to it over and over.

They only had her sprites hair colored green because they wanted to differentiate her within game from the kther blonde characters. Thats why all of her art was blonde or white haired but her sprite hair was green. I've also read that they wanted to make her hair white but then the hard lines didnt look right in the pixelation. But i don't believe that because she's all white in esper mode and still look rad af. The first part is long known fact thought.

You’ve done an incredible job with one of the best soundtracks of all time. This is phenomenal. I also like the decorations. Particularly the pug (tonberry) and Ultros. They only had her sprites hair colored green because they wanted to differentiate her within game from the kther blonde characters. Thats why all of her art was blonde or white haired but her sprite hair was green. I've also read that they wanted to make her hair white but then the hard lines didnt look right in the pixelation. But i don't believe that because she's all white in esper mode and still look rad af. The first part is long known fact thought.
Final Fantasy VI is my favorite game / sound track of all time, this is amazing.

There isn’t a like button large enough for a video of this caliber. I’ve only gotten through the first half, but this is incredible. You’ve done an incredible job with one of the best soundtracks of all time. This is phenomenal. I also like the decorations. Particularly the pug (tonberry) and Ultros. I’ll definitely be coming back to this video to listen to this while I work or just want to think or space out. Cheers.

This soundtrack really takes you on a journey. I'd forgotten how beautiful it was. Kara is playing it to perfection. She's getting the mood right with every song. Astounding work. Absolutely brilliant playing.
