    Another great video! I have been using mine since about the time you created the last video on this. Now I am experimenting with a digital relay timer board on a colleagues truck. It does the same thing for a cheaper board and more precise time settings (though this isn’t necessary). I hope to find its durability and longevity is sufficient as the altronix board. I went all out and bought a soldering station and supplies needed. And even bought a Bench top power supply to test the boards before wiring them and installing them in the truck.

    This is a SUPER good tutorial. I love the eclectic-ness of your channel!!
    I want to figure out how to make ACC mode (ignition on, engine off) stay on longer. I don't really want to burn gas while sitting in the truck reading, listening to the radio or scrolling through the on screen owners manual, etc. My F150 would stay on after I removed the key until I opened the door. (Or 20 minutes)

    We had this same problem with a new gmc pickup set up as a rescue truck, you needed to hold down the start button every time you started it or after 45 minutes on scene it would shut off leaving us with no emergency lights. It took a act of God from gm but the dealer was able to shut off this option.

      Yes. I don’t believe those years turned off. But if you wanted the idle increase and the transmission moving to more oil to help with cooling it will work. The plug is different but the functionality is exactly the same. Go to the body builders for each respective year.

    • @ParkerSystems

      Of course -- the PTO 1 will also prevent engine shutdown as well. I think the PTO1 request will override the PTO2 request -- PTO1 requires the parking brake to be set --

    Your video shows you soldering pin out 3 & 5 but according to the schematics, there is nothing connected to 3 for a gasoline 2023 F250 vehicle? Can you explain?

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  28 днів тому

      Yes -- that is a misprint actually left over from the previous years -- in those years there is a difference between diesel and gas on the some of the pin outs -- but i can assure you for '23 '24 the pins 3 and 5 are the resistor for both gas and diesel

    And say the truck is already upfitted for pto 1 and wires 3/13/17 are already in use. What would the work around be if there is any?

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  7 місяців тому

      If the truck is already fixed to accept pto 1 (that means the resistor network is in place) all that would be required is to apply 12v for the pto 2 functionality. So all would be required is a relay board that uses the trans in park ground and 12v battery power. Which you can get from another location or splice in the existing connection. The resistor is basically in place for you. If you would like comment back if this doesn’t help you and I could provide you a basic schematic. Thanks for watching. David

    Im having the same problem as Adam. Wired up verified 1050 ohms. Using a 2 watt resistor. Engine still shuts off. 2023 6.8L Gas.
    Relay turns on and off properly, i do not hear any change in the engine/trans nor does it prevent the auto shut off.

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  5 місяців тому

      Check and make certain that you used pins 3 and 5 for the resistor network -- 2 watt is fine -- the resistance is good --- since the relay comes on and off properly that means you have the 12 volt supply (upfitter) correct and ground (transmission in park) is correct --- verify that you have 12 volts on common on the relay terminal at all times the truck is running, and verify that the NC terminal on the relay board is connected to the pin 6 ... you could also verify that you have 12 volts on the relay terminal NC when the light on the relay board is on, should be zero when the light is off ... if you still have problems call my office and Ill be happy to give you call -- thanks for watching

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  7 місяців тому

      Verify that you placed your resistor across pins 3 and 5 -- verify that your resistor is 400 ohms to 47,000 ohms --- then make sure that you have 12v going to PTO 2 when the relay energized --- By the relay energizing you have the power and ground correct. -- you then have to make sure that the resistor network is in place -- given that is good make sure you jump 12v to the common terminal of the realy and NC terminal is connected to the PTO2 pin -- thanks for watching -- I hope this helps --
      I assume that you are talking about about a 23/34 truck -- these wire the same for both diesel and gas -- if your utlizing a pre 23 truck you have to wire for gas or diesel (ie there are different pin outs for gas and diesel)

    Isn't the 30 minute cutoff by design, to stop the likes of catalytic convertors getting clogged up?

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems  9 місяців тому +2

      Prehaps. I’m not exactly sure what causes the catalytic converters to clog …. I do not that in our fleet the cats seem to fail around a similar mileage … regardless of the mission of the truck. In the diesel engine world the containments in the oil co tribute to diesel filters clogging. We don’t extend run our trucks because we want to …. We operate out trucks as a traffic control device for crew member safety. We have no choice but for the truck to idle. Prehaps that is what ford was thinking or prehaps pollution…. But that is why we need them to idle.
