    We live in a reefer semi-trailer house (ours is parked, not taking it on the road) but we chose it for many of the reason you point out here. Fantastic expert info here though which I find fills in a lot of gaps of knowledge about how these things are built, so thanks! Good luck with your build. If anyone is interested in how we fit our house out, check out Big Tiny Adventure!

    No external view of the start up. We have three 3516's, 1.4MW and two 3512's, 1.2MW in Antarctica to power McMurdo station and they really blow out some smoke on start up. Derated due to less dense air and the low gel point "AN-8" fuel has less BTUs. Was curious if these were any better. But any 3500 series video I see, they all smoke on startup and when block loaded. But great engines! Used to work on EMD two stokes, the 567s put out 2MW, 645s put out 2.5MW and the V20 710s were 3.5MW / 5,000HP. Yes, they are train engines and sounded like trains. I have some videos on my channel of the Cats and EMDs. Also used to maintain portable 2MW trailers, like shown here. But had Cummins QSX or QX whatever in them, not a fan of those. The Cats are much better but the EMDs can't be beat. Unfortunately two strokes and emissions don't cooperate to well though.

    I used FORScan to modify the PCM value on my 2023 and 2024 Ford F550, and successfully permanently turned off the idling function for up to 30 minutes. The vehicle can now idle until the fuel tank is exhausted.

    I find it weird that powerlock still hasn't taken off in the US. Where I live camlock has been obselete for years.

    • @dalesql2969
      @dalesql2969 3 дні тому

      Powerlock panel is way more expensive than camlock connectors. There are a few venues in my city that have them, but not many. we also have had the mechanical interlocks fail from time to time, which gets very spendy to have them repaired. The other disadvantage is if I need to run longer than one length of cable, I lose the interlock anyway. I got zapped one time by heavy power run, but the powerlock does not save me from the cable rental company had a color blind tech made up cables with red on one end and green on the other. So the casing of the power distro was energized. Lucky for me that the ground was dry and I only got lightly zapped.

    I was always partial to the XLT trim - it had what I wanted, but too much more crap that I did not want. But I bought a used 2015 F-350 XL last month. Manual windows, locks, and mirrors. It has A/C, but no cruise control (yet). And the key is just that - a key! No $800 FOB crap. I think I am an XL convert, but I would take the power option if the truck had it.

    It shouldn't be there in the first place.There should be an option to turn it off.My crews have to use a samblaster, which is linked to the accessory features in the truck every thirty minutes.The truck stalls like there should be an option to shut this off

    The new 2023 and 2024 line has even dropped the King Ranch down to a Lariat level. The King Ranch does not get LED taillights or headlights either! So now there are really "3" different trim levels. XL, XLT -> Level 1 Lariat, King Ranch -> Level 2 Platinum, Limited -> Level 3 My previous truck was a 2021 King Ranch and it had LED lights as well. However, I am thrilled to hear that the new 2024 King Ranch has halogens instead. WHAT did you say? Yes, that's right, I'm glad it does, and here's why: Last year before a long haul to Florida in February, my 2021 King Ranch's LED front turn signals decided to get fried for whatever reason. I figured, hey, I'll just call in and get a replacement bulb or part, no problem, right? Well, to my surprise, those LED headlights don't have replaceable bulbs or parts.. it's... one... big.. module. And that headlight module costs a whopping $3K each, and I needed TWO! Luckily, it was still under warranty and Ford covered it.. but holy hell.. never again. With my new 2024 KR, if a bulb goes out, I just replace the darn $15 bulb. Honestly, I think dropped the King Ranch to halogens on purpose for this reason. They know people who buy a KR or lower trims want to work on their trucks, and they don't want to pay $3k per light when something like your turn signal dies. The Platinum and Limited attract a different type of person.

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems 24 дні тому

      I agree -- Ford is has lost me with these trim levels -- basically forcing us into the higher levels to get the basic features we need -- this may push me to another brand. They are also removing the exterior keypad -- I think this is HUGE mistake -- thanks for watching and I appreciate your comments --

    The car will make the regeneration with this system? Or is not necessary because of raising RPM

    • @ParkerSystems

    Hi! I enjoyed your video. Wondering whether it is possible to keep the refrigerating functions of the trailer as air cooling for the tiny home and come up with a solution for heating only? With thanks

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems Місяць тому

      I guess you could. -- but those systems are extremely noisy and are 10-15 tons -- you dont need anywhere that capacity -- I dont believe that would be a practical solution -- we do mini splits on our builds - - I believe that would be the move -- thanks for watching

    Is there much side to side movement in the trailer walls? Or once the interior walls are in does in stiffen it up pretty well?

    • @ParkerSystems
      @ParkerSystems Місяць тому

      I converted the first trailer more than 15 years ago -- I have only utilized great dane trailers -- I would guess this trailer has done more than 50,000 miles and I have not ever had an issue with movement in the sidewalls or the floor -- This trailer was constructed by screwing 1/2 plywood to all the walls and building walls as standard 2x4 walls with plywood and no sheetrock -- I even raised a floor above the slatted reefer floor using advantec tongue and groove and have real tile laid over a underlayment board -- no cracking or sperationi issues in 15 years -- thanks for watching
