Does everyone need to go to university?

  • The term 'Mickey Mouse degree' is a fairly broad, non-specific term, but is generally thought to be a knock against universities which run courses which are less rigorous, from an academic point of view, while still offering people an opportunity to have the broader university experience. Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's perspective was that these are a 'rip off', and don't make sense economically for the students taking them or the taxpayers who cover the tuition fees at the point of entry. Thank you to Will for his contribution this week.
'Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced a crackdown on so-called 'Mickey Mouse degrees' this week, saying that many universities are creating degrees that have very limited real-world application. Should the government continue to allow these courses to be taught?'

Sunak trying to woo his Daily Mail readers, who will vote for him anyway, so he needn't be so egregiously offensive. I agree with everything Will said.

Minimum age should be twenty one, young minds are easily manipulated and indoctrinated as we are seeing.
