Bacause it costs way too much money to run, and fewer people are watching it because its woke as hell
Take tvnz for eg, they paid NZD2 million to the last joker running the show citing inline with the corporate world and performance bonuses, but for a public servant to get that? Hahaa! Anyone remember the questions whether judy bailey was worth a mill? Same with these jokers. Prepared to do anything to keep their good wicket. Sell anyone out

Agreed, the problem is people don't trust the truth!!!! That you pretend to portray. I haven't had the tv connected to the public service for a decade, the only program i watch is vountry calender at my daughter's BECAUSE, its often really inspirational, showing real people and nature in sincronity, not some garbage, faux dramatic creation, with plastic people in contrived sutuations. No wonder is coming to an end, Warner Bros couldn't care less about anything but maximising the bottom line.

Nobody wants to advertise with them, why, it's partially to do with them not adapting to digital and the other part is folks don't want to watch biased news BS anymore, advertisers move away because they don't see it as viable to advertise as a result, buh bye TV3.
Hopefully we will get an unbiased news team,who will call the country by its correct name and not keep throwing in random Maori sentences which hardly anybody knows what they are talking about and not keep giving us their personal opinions on politics.
You could also have presented the news from a politically neutral standpoint, but basically, we got all of the hate and wokeness from the presenters built in to the stories. "Go woke - Go broke!" Often said, you all ignore it. And now..........................! The writing was on the wall that when your Labour slush-fund kitty was exhausted, your departed viewers would make an impact via advertisers realising that you'd pushed the viewers away. It is entirely YOUR fault that the advertisers aren't spending for an audience that, in the main, disappeared quite some time ago! We can only hope that the now out-of-work woke presenters don't gain traction in the still-viable parts of the industry and infest them into oblivion, too!

Seriously I think the whole NZ TV is rubbish.im sure its owned by Australia isnt it. I dont even bother watching reruns of reruns. Since the smart TV can pick up international TV stations i will browse those instead. Its interesting to see what the rest of the world is watching 😅😅

I fully agree with those saying Newshub dropped the ball and forgot its audience, peddling lies and government propaganda. But I'd add some operational matters - Newshub is grossly bloated and must be a cost accountant's nightmare. How many presenters do they employ? Two main presenters each night to begin with, and then sports and weather. How much do these people earn? Check out Japan and Australia by contrast. In Japan, you're lucky to get more than two presenters and they do everything. The weather is often a graphic on a board and the weather patterns indicated with a hand-held pointer. No fancy tech from the most tech savvy nation on Earth. And in Australia, it is much the same, and the news takes 30 minutes. The other thing with Newshub, there are no honest debates and important social and political issues are never balanced when being reported. If there is more than one side, it is left wing and more left wing, as if they are the only viable options. The audience are told what to think, claims of election interference are called 'untrue' and counter scientific statements are 'false'. However, the people making these categorical statements in the form of Newshub staff are unqualified to make these declaratory statements of 'fact'. So, Newshub dug its own grave. There is no-one sane and unbiased in New Zealand sorry to see it go.

I thought TVNZ were way more biased and suspected ( obviously I was wrong) Newshub would be okay. The week prior to voting was a disgrace from TVNZ , but Newshub were at least giving a more balanced viewpoint. The TVNZ screen time given to the left wing parties was over 80% on the Wed night before voting. Advertisers would have seen this and made decisions which are no doubt still likely to hurt TVNZ. I feel sorry for Newshub people. At least they tried to be "balanced".

I Dont watch TV anymore since 2019, a little bit of NRL is the only sport I watch, invest in your health, turn off the TV and go to the gym lol

NZ feels like the poorest first world country that keeps trying to play catchup but always late to the party. There's a lack of slick modern engaging content. I wanna see some intense sports/news debate shows that people will be talking about online and interesting fresh personalities. Content that will draw in people online from overseas. We're just so behind since there's no money. This is where we hope some rich billionaires fund some content for us. I feel like there also needs to be a changing of the guard in executives - build an audience following and grow the youtube channels properly. Would be cool to see like a big 3 or 4' free TV news networks in NZ - kinda like ABC/FOX/CBS/NBC. We're just too poor to do any of that and the country itself is just lacking infrastructure everywhere to play catchup.
