I was a bit concerned when Nike sent the marketing goodies on their Pegasus 41 launch to a good number of shoe reviewers, I was wondering if that would help them keep the reviews unbiased? 😅The fact that you always get the shoes 100% out of your pocket is something to be admired given the gravity of your influence, Ben. You are definitely my go to channel when it comes to shoe selection!
Many, many years ago, Nike used to be my go-to brand for running shoes. Perfect fit, great performing shoes. That's all gone at this point more or less, they're a bit if a mess. I'm now on Asics primarily.
@io-rj6sk currently on the Cumulus 26 and the Superblast 2. Cumulus is supercomfy, the upper is amazing, but it's not particularly light nor for fast running. Great for daily mileage and to spare my legs. The Superblast 2 is more responsive and fun and caters more towards faster paces as well, a more all-round shoe, but not quite as comfortable on my feet (upper in particular). I have also tested the Metaspeed Sky Paris, which I would love as a race/session shoe, but can't really motivate the investment right now. Just my take of course 🙂
@io-rj6sk both shoes have good cushioning, but I think Novablast is more geared towards tempo runs and slightly shorter distances. I remember the fit was not great on my feet with a bit of heel slipping when I tried it on in a store. But people love the Novablast.
I bought the Vomero 17 because of your past video on them. I love them. I saw these on the Nike app just the other day. On my second pair of turbo next nature. Might need a pair of these in the coming months. Keep up the great work, Ben!
Thank you for comparing the sizing to the regular Peg. I need something a smidge bigger than the normal Peg but the next size up isn’t quite right. This sounds about right.
I'm abandoning the max stack craze sold my SB2 recently and going for more ground feel and low/moderate cushioning. This shoe is definitely on my radar seems great for the treadmill too which I need during the winter months. Thanks Ben.
Yep great shoe, not perfect but non are. breath of fresh air from all the super stacked midsoles, better foam than the Mach 6 and rebel v4 slightly less feel though but kind of a stealth speed. Great smooth I found it feels like 6-7mm drop not 10. A win for me.
I love peg turbo they're so good . I done 1 run today and I now they have everything what I want. Plenty of space for toe. responsive, nice ground feeling , 10mm drop.Back to old school running shoes. I just had to get a half size smaller.
Regarding sizing down: I bought a pair in size 10 and size 9.5. I ran in 10 on my left foot and 9.5 on my right foot. I have a tight thumb's width in the toebox from my big toe in regular Pegasus 39s. Sizing down to 9.5 had my right side's toes feeling sore at the end after 15K and with all paces tested in them. My sizing advice is to only size down if you already have more than a thumb's width in a pair of regular Pegasus, or use 10 in Asics or Adidas. For Nike runners, don't size down - just use cushioned socks (Balega Blister Resist and Hidden Comfort are good examples) and your regular size will both fit well and not leave your toes exposed to pathologies you do not want part in. Cramped toes in running shoes do nasty things to your feet over time. In very thin socks, the Size 9.5 still had my toes gracing the front of the shoe while the Size 10 clearly felt too large. Cushioned socks have been the perfect solution. Thanks for the review.
My favorite pair ever was the Pegasus Turbo so I am so excited to get these. They just fit my shoes and I love the Zoom X foam. I hated how they went react for the future pegasus line afterwards.
I was trying to wait for this review before pulling the trigger...couldn't wait and got a pair yesterday. When trying them on the toe box felt wider than what I remembered. I'm going to try them on a run later today. Hope they are good. 🤞🏾
They felt like peg turbos of old. I usually add a cushion insole but I've got two short runs on them with the stock insole and I like how they feel fast and simple compared to my outgoing shoes.
I've still got a pair of Turbo 2's with not much running mileage on them, when I first got them I couldn't believe how much quicker I could run in them. I bought them for £119.96 in September 2020 on offer(just checked my orders). If I run in them now I feel like I'm running barefoot and they give nothing in return especially compared to my Vaporflys. On that subject I bought a pair of Vaporfly 3's in September 23, I did a few training runs in them and felt they weren't as good as the 2's and weren't going to be very durable for the £235 I paid for them but I decided to put a few miles on them just everyday runs before sending them back. At some point I realised actually these are the best shoes I ever had for all my running, I just kept going in them, they have well over 1000km's on them and they still get an outing occasionally. I used them for all my training runs for Manchester marathon last April but wore a brand new pair for the marathon where I got a 6 minute PB and a GFA time for London. I'm mostly running in Vaporfly 2's right now due to buying a lot heavily discounted at some point but the 3's are so much better, I ran a HM at the weekend in the 3's and they felt so good. My personal opinion is do your running in the same type of shoes, I mean if you are going to wear plated shoes in a race train in plated shoes because they make you run differently, I'm very superstitious and think swapping between Invincibles and plated shoes caused me to get injured last year. It is expensive running in super shoes all the time but I look out for offers, Sportshoes 15% discounts or 10% club discount is a fair saving on them and in my case (touchwood) has helped me so much.
I have had a couple runs in the Peg+ so far. The traction in rain is really good, i dont love 10mm drops but my main issue is that pricetag. I had to buy in in CAD so with fees and taxes it came out at $263. There are opther options for less than can do more. They are growing on me so time will tell.
Good review. The price is a bit high for what it is I think, I loved the original version so I'll look forward to maybe picking them up once the price drops.
the turbo 1 was the one i was running my first marathon, so i have very good memories but as you said. it´s 2024 and i actually wear almost exclusively norda 001/002 for every kind of running. maybe i should try to go back to normal shoes again. the white beige one looks interesting 😀
This Pegaus Plus is definitely better than the Pegaus 41. It's lighter and more responsive. I would have prefer the cushioning to be more plush. It feels a little firm considering it's a full ZoomX midsole. The grey/pink is the nicest. It's a tad too expensive. I would have rather go for the Invincible 3 which is more responsive and plush.
Problem is, is it worth the extra money versus the Adidas Adizero SL2? It may be me, but I compare the SL2 to the original Pegasus Turbo. I guess I need to get my hands on the Pegasus Plus to try it out, but as you’re speaking about the running experience and its use scenario, I can’t help but think of the Brooks Hyperion Max v1 as well. Premium race day foam, no plate, lightweight, quick and easy turnover, and you can pick up the Brooks for dirt cheap right now. I’m sure it’s a brilliant shoe, but the price is what kills it for me.
The Peg 41 is insultingly bad. Do not go there people. Nike need a complete refresh for the 42, so people don’t feel a need to splash on this for their daily workhorse. As it stands, this is the one to buy if you MUST buy Nike! But you can legitimately say that every other running shoe brand has a shoe around this price point that would be a better choice. I've just ordered peg 41 & this peg plus, was going to compare how both felt when i get back to running nexr week after 8 weeks out with a MTSS or minor stress fracture. interested to hear your thoughts if i should be sacking both pairs off and looking at a different shoe?

I look forward to the day Nike releases an actual peagsus with both the zoomx and air zoom technology, kind of like the alphafly but without the plate.
@eamon1648 nah, those are a strange Nike Running tech hybrid monstrosity. My suspicion is they will end up as predominantly a lifestyle sneaker. Those have a full length, sculpted Air ZOOM unit. Immediately under foot you have ZoomX, and beneath the Air you have ReactX foam. I don't see those being practical training shoes.
@@benjaminzaoui9683 I agree they're probably poo to run in. But I suspect there's a reason they don't have anything that is just zoonX with zoom air. The zoomX likely needs some react or a plate to have any sort of rigidity and stability and give a decent ride. There's a reason I haven't bought Nikes in years haha. It's pretty clear the zoomX is only good for one thing
I hoped you'd do more comparison with other models. In my case, I don't buy that running hype that all these brands influenced on us all for obvious reasons. I like fast-paced walking and am thinking about this model and Vomero. I would love to hear the comparison.
I've now had FIVE pairs of turbo 2s, tried to replace with a combo of streakfly+invincible 2s, but I'm holding out hope these can bring back a single fast but strong all round shoe. The key to the turbos was the 2 layer combo of zoomx and react, because it made them a lot more robust than say the streakfly with just zoomx and low profile, so I'd get 1000km out of each pair and they still felt pretty good. Everything from speed work on the track to Sunday HM plods. I'll keep searching ebay I think

I dont get to understand... You say these are not very soft running feel shoe, however the midsole is just zoomx which is considered to be a very soft foam... Is this zoomx the same as the original zoomx? Thank u
Great review. I’ll go and try the plus on for size. Besides the Vapor and Alpha Nike haven’t suited me. I Find the ASICS range better! I couldn’t wear the sky Paris either. In the super shoe range I’m Nike in training all ASICS. Just what my feet like 😂 I’m happy to give Pegasus turbo a try. Thanks Ben 🙏🏻
Why are these so bloody heavy?! The Turbo 2 was about 250g in my size (same as you Ben) and these are 313g, which is only 10g less than the very plush Vomero 17. I can't understand where the weight is coming from and why Nike are so bad at making light shoes now. To me it looks like the upper has way too much material. I really like the Vomero but on hot days my feet get quite sweaty in them due to the thick upper. Peg turbo 2 were perfect because the upper was so thin/breathable. I don't know about you, but I've never had cold feet on a run (that's what socks are for!)
Just bought some Vomero 17s, which seem to have a very similar remit to the Pegasus Plus. Which do you think are better? And more importantly, when are Nike going to release the Invicibles 4, with the heel slip issue sorted?
I bought a pair in the white/black/sail colorway and really like them. Great at a wide range of speeds, plus the racing stripe and wings automatically make you faster right?
bought the pegasus 39 view months ago, first i had some achilles problems wich lead to knee problems, but only in this shoe, idk why, i threw them into the bin^^ that does not mean they are bad shoes tho xD i actually liked the look of them, but yeah, it is how it is right ^^
They are rubbing my left big toe but at the side not the top so it’s not because of the stripe I think it’s the reinforcement around the toe box. Shame as I really wanted these. I’ve been recently using some OG 35 turbos in the gym on the treadmill -
i think it really depends of what you like ... i did one 14 km with them and hated those ... too hard on the ground, too wide on the foot, i'd definitely pick the infinity run 4 instead
@@ATREU850Nike shoes are not more expensive at all compared to competitors. Invincible 3 fell apart after 3 months. Got a replacement and it fell apart again after 4 months. They make great racing shoes (Alphafly, Vaporfly) because it doesn’t have to last. Daily trainers are far subpar compared to competitors.
I have both and think they are both very different shoes. The SL2 is less stable so if you pronate or supinate, be careful. The sl2 is a softer plusher shoe to run in while I think the peg plus is a bit better for speed work. The ground feel of the peg plus makes it a very different beast than the sl2. Must admit I fell in love with the sl2 and I’ve done the majority of my runs in the sl2 since I bought them last month. I never ran in adidas before but the sl2 made me fall in love with the 3 stripes
Would you get this if you have the Vomero? Vomero is a bit unstable and I'm not a fan of the upper but other than that these two seem awfully similar. Out of the Vomero and the Invincible 3 I actually prefer the Invincible, it's just more fun and more stable.
The peg plus is better for speed work, but IMO it’s not great for general running or long runs. I don’t find the Vomero 17 unstable. Peg plus is about the same, or maybe slightly less stable if you over-pronate a lot. IMO, the peg plus is not unstable. Vomero 17 and the Peg Plus will complement each other nicely….but neither shoe does it all.
After buying the Pegasus 40 and it being the worst trainer i've ever had, heavy, clunky, looked like a slipper it put me off ever getting a Pegasus again, its even put me off buying Nike, apart from their carbon plated trainers.
Nike has lost the magic for me. Always true fan, but the last years they have been stuck and seem off. I bought the Vomero 17. Good shoe, but way too bouncy for my taste. So to get the good old feeling back I put on my starter Nikes from 14 years ago. No foam, no extra mock up bs, just lace up and go. I did the 5k almost 2 minutes faster. Felt pure.
I like the shoe, except for the exposed zoom X. I have run it 3 times and i’ve concluded that it’s not a daily trainer. I’ll be using mine for speed interval sessions, i won’t need to buy the Streak Fly now. For general running, the Vomero 17 seems better!
How would you rate it for supinators. I have been having ankle problems with rolling lateral , had issues with the machine 5 hoka, and I tend to like a bit more cushioning at the bottom back of the shoe. Eg I have resorted to basketball shoes for shorter runs for the lateral stability also been looking at the Hyperion max 2.
All they had to do was release a shoe that was basically identical to the Turbo 2 and call it the Turbo 3. That's all they had to do. I had a pair that were still pretty fresh until about a year ago, and they were still indisputably amazing. I don't buy this idea that because technology's moved on a shoe that was incredible 4 years ago is now romanticised and actually wasn't that incredible.
Spot on. There are several examples of manufacturers who have messed up a great shoe with their next iteration. This is just a return to what they did well with a modern foam.
I have a few dead stock pairs of the turbo 2, even found a new pair of the orginal turbo 1s for a good price and the comfort level felt average to what is available today. However, I do enjoy testing out all the best tech from most brands. It was the turbos that started that love, but being honest the turbos do need an overhaul. What I did find amusing though was the relaunch of the turbos a few years ago, which people didn't like, I thought were actually great, especially for casual wearing, if you were on your feet all day, the shoes were the right amount of stiff to not make your feet feel fatigued at the end of the day. So hopefully these shoes live up to the legacy, as they're definitely shoes I want to do well.
I want a durable shoe for daily use and a fast shoe for speed racing same time . Can somebody help me? I don't have a budget, any price is ok but I don't want to buy two shoes, I want only one pair of shoes.
Agree with the novablast superblast suggestion. In my experience (novablast 4 and superblast 1, don’t know the superblast 2 yet) the novablast offers a bit more support on the inside of the foot, or maybe has a bit firmer sole all around but still gives enough return energy. so if you prefer that, maybe the novablast is a better choice. But that’s my experience, taking into account that I am not a very fast runner. (51 minutes 10k pb) But to be honest, I really love the superblast 😊, it makes me happy to run in them. And that is also worth something….
Neo Vista they are in different category. Hill counter is very flexible not for everyone. But shoes are 🔥 I loved. I have neo Vista for recovery and long run. Puma Deviate 3 tempo, peg turbo daily trainer.
Here that shoe is 200€ which is too much but honestly the regular Pegasus 41 is way more overpriced. It costs 155€. Pegasus used to be 129€ a couple of years ago and many big retailers had campaigns where it was 79.90€. It used to be a very popular shoe but now shoes like Hoka Clifton have taken its place. Pegasus is just too expensive for a shoe that offers nothing special.

In the super shoe range I’m Nike in training all ASICS. Just what my feet like 😂 I’m happy to give Pegasus turbo a try. Thanks Ben 🙏🏻
Love the go faster stripe😁
I bought a pair, didn't like them at all so i sent them back.
Nike are not showing negative reviews on their website.
Love my VF3 but the invincible 3 ruined my romance with Nike! I may give the plus version of this a try!
I don't know about you, but I've never had cold feet on a run (that's what socks are for!)
the plus moniker suggets its pretty much a hybrid max cushion hense the heavier weight
I’ve been happy with my Nike running shoes but they have to do something about their high prices
Just bought some Vomero 17s, which seem to have a very similar remit to the Pegasus Plus. Which do you think are better? And more importantly, when are Nike going to release the Invicibles 4, with the heel slip issue sorted?
This could've been an all time rant video from Ben if the shoe carried the React foam 😂
Good sock combo - what are they Ben?
Soar www.soarrunning.com/collections/socks but they don't seem to have that colour currently.
If you’re after a laugh, slow the video down.
Ben sounds like he’s pissed out of his head! 😂
Absolutely beautiful!
I bought a pair in the white/black/sail colorway and really like them. Great at a wide range of speeds, plus the racing stripe and wings automatically make you faster right?
How to compare with the Saucony endorphin speed 3? for daily training?
bought the pegasus 39 view months ago, first i had some achilles problems wich lead to knee problems, but only in this shoe, idk why, i threw them into the bin^^ that does not mean they are bad shoes tho xD i actually liked the look of them, but yeah, it is how it is right ^^
They are rubbing my left big toe but at the side not the top so it’s not because of the stripe I think it’s the reinforcement around the toe box. Shame as I really wanted these. I’ve been recently using some OG 35 turbos in the gym on the treadmill -
I think we need to know where the matching socks come from 😊
Look like cep compression socks to me (but could be wrong) I have a black pair.
Soar www.soarrunning.com/collections/socks but they don't seem to have that colour currently.
It seems Nike has finally released a not s*it shoe for a change! Thank god it isn't a 40mm plus behemoth that everyone is releasing nowadays.
It ain't great
i think it really depends of what you like ... i did one 14 km with them and hated those ... too hard on the ground, too wide on the foot, i'd definitely pick the infinity run 4 instead
Nike has released nothing but GREAT shoes sounds like you just cant afford them 😂
@@ATREU850Nike shoes are not more expensive at all compared to competitors. Invincible 3 fell apart after 3 months. Got a replacement and it fell apart again after 4 months. They make great racing shoes (Alphafly, Vaporfly) because it doesn’t have to last. Daily trainers are far subpar compared to competitors.
@@ATREU850they’ve released so much mid and became content for about 4 years making generic trainers. The only thing saving them is the racers
Would you choose this over the SL2?
I have both and think they are both very different shoes. The SL2 is less stable so if you pronate or supinate, be careful. The sl2 is a softer plusher shoe to run in while I think the peg plus is a bit better for speed work. The ground feel of the peg plus makes it a very different beast than the sl2. Must admit I fell in love with the sl2 and I’ve done the majority of my runs in the sl2 since I bought them last month. I never ran in adidas before but the sl2 made me fall in love with the 3 stripes
@@rikgrafiek3073this is basically me. I never thought id buy anything Adidas! But i am so impressed…
Vomero 17 and the Peg Plus will complement each other nicely….but neither shoe does it all.
not a ben parkes review if it doesnt have honest and or unbiased on the title
@ben which one would you pick between Pegasus plus and vomero 17?
Hi Ben. Where do you get the socks to match the shoes?
Soar www.soarrunning.com/collections/socks but they don't seem to have that colour currently.
Looks very similar to the Vomero 17
Was hoping for a comparison to the Vomero 17
Not at all.
@@PhilMUKYeah with Vomero 17 having no plate and ZoomX it seems like they are close?
Looks NOTHING similar its totally different in every way
The stripe gives me clown/bowling shoe vibes.
Are they good for the weight room?
Would you choose this over the novablast 4?
After buying the Pegasus 40 and it being the worst trainer i've ever had, heavy, clunky, looked like a slipper it put me off ever getting a Pegasus again, its even put me off buying Nike, apart from their carbon plated trainers.
For short & long intervals do you recommend Pegasus Plus or Magic Speed 4?
So would you say it feels like peg 35 turbo?
Nike has lost the magic for me. Always true fan, but the last years they have been stuck and seem off. I bought the Vomero 17. Good shoe, but way too bouncy for my taste. So to get the good old feeling back I put on my starter Nikes from 14 years ago. No foam, no extra mock up bs, just lace up and go. I did the 5k almost 2 minutes faster. Felt pure.
the worlds best runners are breaking records in Nike's best shoes, so they must be quite alright lol.
What's the name and brand of that socks that has the same colour as the shoe.
I like the shoe, except for the exposed zoom X. I have run it 3 times and i’ve concluded that it’s not a daily trainer. I’ll be using mine for speed interval sessions, i won’t need to buy the Streak Fly now.
For general running, the Vomero 17 seems better!
Nike just don't work well with me running.. brooks, new balance and asics.
where to get the matching socks
Soar www.soarrunning.com/collections/socks but they don't seem to have that colour currently.
Could u compare it with puma librerate nitro 2?
It’s a fine looking shoe, the Hoka Mach 6 take some beating. Nike have done a half decent job for where this shoe sits in their shoe tiers.
Ben, Pegasus Plus vs Vomero 17?
In 6-9 months when it might show up for £120 it sounds like it might be worth a look.
I want a durable shoe for daily use and a fast shoe for speed racing same time . Can somebody help me? I don't have a budget, any price is ok but I don't want to buy two shoes, I want only one pair of shoes.
Asics Superblast 2! As alternatives Asics Novablast 4 or Puma Deviate Nitro 3
superblast 2 most popular now. endorphin speed 4 is good too.
Both of those above answers are good. Superblast or Endorphin.
Adidas Boston 12
Did I just see a racing stripe on a shoe?
Maybe similar to adidas adizero sl2?
I miss the hwoeebyyyy intro
Are you related to Mark Goldbridge?
Superblast does not have a plate!
is Pegasus Plus can help me run my 5k and aim sub 20min without carbon plate shoe? (with training ofc)
Neo vista rebel v4 or this shoe??
Rebel
Neo Vista they are in different category. Hill counter is very flexible not for everyone. But shoes are 🔥 I loved.
I have neo Vista for recovery and long run. Puma Deviate 3 tempo, peg turbo daily trainer.
ZoomX doesn't last long. After 100 miles, it will be a walking shoes!
Pegasus plus vs tempo next%?
Does it have a plastic heel counter like the normal Pegasus? Thanks
Thanks for giving the history and confirming the deception with this non sense shoe after the turbo 2, so much deception there…
Here that shoe is 200€ which is too much but honestly the regular Pegasus 41 is way more overpriced.
