Found this in my recommendations. I mainly follow basketball shoes review channels but since you like in Japan too, then I'm subscribing. All the best!
Based on your complains on knee problems, shoes with wider base and firmer foam would work better for you. At 52 now, I avoid the newer shoes as they are taller and squishier. Just bad for knees. A little late, but perhaps you can try the Adios Pro 3. That shoe is bouncy, firm and stable.
@@kmchow98chow15 you’re right. I just turned 42, and to think about a month ago I just learned I was flat-footed from a 3D foot scan ASICS did for me, and they did a running gait analysis of me too. All the math started “mathing” about why I like wide versions of running shoes. And their advice to me was to stick more with “protection” (stability) based shoes. My mind was blown mostly to find out I was flat-footed after thinking I wasn’t all my life. 🤯
Very Nike, Asics, Adidas focused list. There are some great shoes especially in Japan like Mizuno, Puma, Diadora... Would love to see review of the shoes that Japan has and nowhere else in the world. You have a niche there to take advantage of, why review all the same stuff other reviewers also do.
It's not a full counterargument, but it's a counterargument nonetheless. ASICS is a Japanese brand based in Kobe. So, I am taking advantage of Japanese shoes. It's not my problem that they do such a good job making shoes that they have worldwide releases. If I were to review shoes no one else has access to, I don't see how that would benefit most viewers. Sure, it would be entertaining, but if you can't acquire them, how does that help you? My channel is Japan-centric, but it's not solely Japanese everything. I desire other brands, too. How can I rank Japanese stuff if not compared to what their competition is doing? Anyway, I'll tell you what before I go on a tangent. Could you give me a list of Japan-only running shoes? I'll definitely consider picking some up for review. Thank you for the comment.
Hi Marc, thank you for explaining your point of view, I now understand better your choices for reviews. It is pretty easy to acquire Japanese 'only' releases nowadays with shipping forwarder, friends and family that travels for pleasure or work, so I don't think it limits your audience. Perhaps it does drive your channel to offer more unique content. Some shoes that could be worth exploring would be Asics S4, Ekiden colourway releases (Nike), collabs by Puma, Mizuno Sky, Skyrise, Wave range. Maybe even Onitsuka sneakers for the fashion/casual shoes review. It is your channel and I respect you can talk about things that you choose/have interest in. Thank you for bringing your content to us.
@@emrik2s respect. And thank you for commenting again. You see my point of view, and I now see yours too. ASICS S4 (check, but don't expect a review over them like next week-a month minimum. I have to run in them, shoot B-roll, write a review, then make and edit the video. These things take time.) Nike Ekiden colorways, check. I can put that out faster because I would show off all the shoes in B-roll footage I record and give my commentary over them style-wise. Mizuno, I know very little about even though they are a Japanese brand, and my friend works in the legal department for the brand (he's not a runner and knows nothing about their product). I literally know nothing about the Puma collabs. Give me some time to do my due diligence and research on both of these things before I decide to try to buy some for review.
I understand Japan has a different culture and therefore consumer decisions differ from the west. But under no circumstance will I but that the Nike Vomero is one of the best shoes in 2024. To give and explanation is that the sales for the Vomero were of significance. Yes that could be, but that doesn’t mean it’s a great shoe or loved by the consumers. Contrary the Superblast 2 is a loved shoe throughout the world and despite a different marketing strategy to most of Nike’s strategy, the Superblast 2 are always sold out quickly across the globe. However if you say Vomero was my favourite or my mates favourite than fine Incan accept that. Still leaps and bounds different than the actual best shoes of 2024!
@@stephenwouw8624 I don’t need to say “my favorite shoe” or my friend’s favorite because I already thought it was apparent from the get go that this is my list. It’s a ranking of the shoes I ran in on my channel. Unless a viewer donates every running shoe of 2024 to me from every brand, and even if I managed to run in all of them, the list is still subjective with my opinion. What’s there to explain? PS. Do you know anything about food? Eat what you like and leave what you don’t. That’s the end of it.
The Vomero is absolutely one of the best trainers of 2024. It follows Nike's succesful recipe of a dual-density set up with ZoomX atop a firmer, more durable foam (in this case, Cushlon 3.0). It is a universally well-received, highly recommended shoe. It is a better option than the Pegasus, for all kinds of runs. Your comparison to Aasics selling out, who struggle to meet demand with their very limited production (especially as compared to the immense production of Nike), is absurd.
Not joking. I make no bones (or apologies) about what I said. I think it's understood what I meant. All shoes have so-called cushioning, but some a lot more or less than others. These things are firm, and I felt no sink into them. Hurt is not the right word because there was no pain, but after I finished running in these multiple times, I felt like I was building up calluses on my heels because these things were so stiff. I don't think that's even a good or bad thing. Everyone has preferences, so I don't want folk back-talking me because my opinion doesn't agree with theirs, but I don't care for firm shoes. They definitely have their place, and if you like them and want them, I won't argue that with anyone. When people come to this channel, you're coming to hear my opinion, regardless of whether you want to take my word at face value.
Thank you! I would have never known that had you not come here and told me. You really should make a running channel. I'm sure you have much more advice I can learn from you. Sincerely.
