Yo! Thomas here, weighed myself this morning 171.2 lbs. I know I look well over 6’, but I’m barely 6’ with Alphaflys on I’m 6’1”. Also, stack height on the shoe is 35 mm in the forefoot, 25 mm in the heel (10 mm drop).
A shoe is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Sure, the less popular colors will end up at the outlets quickly, and the rest will follow if/when the next version comes out. As with any other Nike shoe.
@@iGo0gIe it’s no better than a Hoka Mach 6, which is $40 less. The NB SC Trainer v3, Mizuno Neo Vista are way more dynamic shoes for the same money and the SuperBlast is only $20. The only thing the shoe has going for it is that it looks cool af.
@@A_SEGA_Dremcast meh not everyone want a high stack trainer with a plate. This is a good option for a more traditional feel with modern foams. I don’t think it’s unreunreasonably priced for what it offers, to each their own though
and Adidas, well a lot brands... because they are made by fashion people not technicians ;( they took the heel elevation from sneakers and think "uh squeashy heel!"

The peg turbo was one of the first trainers In that Color was on of the first trainer’s I owned when I first started running as a freshman in HS. So Some serious nostalgia associated with this one!
Imagine the Nike team thinking they did something reintroducing a shoe that was popular a few years ago at this point… while the market has substantially evolved since then. It’s sad to see the lack of innovation from them.
@@sneakpick129that’s a fair point, but it’s not a “retro” like those, this is supposed to be an updated/modernized model. They don’t have a massive catalogue in true performance running like they do their casual shoes, so I don’t think it’s a 1:1 comparison though. They’re missing modernity compared to their competitors, hence their recent valuation issues.
Having just got mine only 2 runs in, so very early first impressions that may or may not change. it’s not far off my aged Vaporfly for performance impressed me! Shocked. Even considering the vaporfly 3 now which I chose the adios pro 3 over it instead ( great shoe) agree re the forefoot does feel thin and low to the ground but it’s still protective enough for me so far 88kg 195lb runner, gonna do my 10 miler in it tomorrow and see how it feels there. I was honestly expecting to be disappointed but so far no, there’s an odd nothing feel to it, but I seem to be able to hold pace almost effortlessly. The last peg I used is the 39 and found it brick like and quite exhausting to run in. So haven’t really rated nike performance other than vaporfly alpha fly and did like the peg 36. Rest including invincible= meh
I put the Pebax insert (from the Tracksmith Elliot) into the new Nike Free Run RN (which feels oversized). I like the flexibility and it's my everyday shoe. The new Pegasus Plus sounds similar. I am also going to try the Rebel V4.
Even though the drop might measure at 10 mm that doesn’t mean it will feel like 10 mm during a run. Some shoes with really soft foams will effectively have a lower drop under load (while running).
I actually missed out on the Streakfly so this shoe is my chance to get a feel how ZoomX feels like without a plate and with a lower stack than the VF and AF. My first run in them was so much fun. Specs say it has a 10mm drop but it did not feel like it to be honest. Comfortable upper with responsive cushioning. Great shoe in my opinion.
Thank you for reiterating my response to your first thoughts video. I pretty much said everyone else has eclipsed Nike, and for $180, there are much better shoes for less money. I started running using the Nike Winflo 5, then went to the Peg 35, then Peg 36, then Epic React Flyknit 2. I loved Nike shoes until I ran in the Novablast. That’s when everything changed. I never got to run in the Pegasus Turbo because I bought into the first Endorphin Speed, which changed the game. I find it hard to justify Nike’s pricing for what you’re getting with any of their daily trainers. I will say this. I am mildly excited for the Zoom Fly 6. That actually looks somewhat promising.
@@moondog7654 very thin stack of zoomx (which doesn't last very long in terms of consistency and longevity) isn't enough to justify a $40 premium over other shoes with similar/better performance.
@@moondog7654Brooks has said DNA Flash 2 is a supercritical EVA-TPE blend. Plus you can’t necessarily knock EVA now that Mizuno dropped Enerzy NXT which is in their Neo Vista that many early reviewers were so impressed by they thought it was a PEBA foam until Mizuno revealed it was a pure EVA foam.
You're not kidding, nearly every competitor from Brooks, New Balance, Saucony, ASICS, Hoka, and even Adidas are leapfrogging Nike when it comes to making great trainers and tempo shoes in recent years.

The Peg 35 was the last decent normal Peg. The OG Turbo was awesome but since 2020 many other brands have done exactly what you said in the vid, they’ve leap frogged Nike in the various categories of shoes. We now have so much choice it’s almost insulting that Nike are just relying on people buying the daily stuff because that’s what they’ve always done in years gone by. Puma have nailed bang for buck in the last couple of years, in my humble opinion of course
I'm with Robbe on this one. Hate the racing stripe, looks like a bowling shoe. Imo, would have worked better offset, printed or woven, without the extra material (i.e. not centered). Or just have it on the sole.
I was running in the first Peg Turbo, and concerning fatigue, I had the same problem then. It was fun for a 10k run ( even though a bit soft for raceday ), and I thought itll be a great half marathon shoe, but my legs and feet were getting tired over that distance, more then in other comparable shows. So in those days I went back to Adidas Boston and even Asics DS Trainer.
That's the issue with Nike! Aside from the racing shoes, they're designing every shoe to have one foot in Lifestyle, rather than just making great training shoes.
Still love to run in my Peg Turbo V1’s and V2’s but I really expected more of V3. A discounted Ultrafly could be a better pick right now. Seems to be best to wait for Peg Premium.
Completely agree with Robbie's last points, and have felt the same for some time. Love my Vaporfly 3s, but literally nothing else Nike does interests me. I'd have bought these straight off, based on looks alone, but they just sound "meh". Almost every other manufacturer is doing what they do, but better, which saddens me.

Umm bring back the Turbo seemingly everybody was saying. It was great and IMHO it was. I took mine up to marathon distance in training plus faster shorter stuff and everything in between. So they did - sort of if Plus = Turbo. Now the message here is sorry why did you bring back the Turbo - we actually need a shoe with more foam and less drop as this is only good for 6 miles, maybe a plate too and then we could have called it super like other brands ? Anyway I miss my Turbos and got to admit might be considered a Nike fan boy so feel have to try it whatever.
Nobody actually thinks the Nature was the Peg Turbo 3, just like nobody thinks the Alphafly Nature was the Alphafly 2. They were a way for Nike to get people to buy shoes made of literal scraps of leftover ZoomX on the cutting room floor.
Do you think if they put a nylon plate in, it would be a similar shoe to the Endorphin Speed and eliminate the squishyness? That is the type of shoe bracket the turbo should be in.

Ahh, the OG Turbos. Gotta say, they do have that sexy heritage looks like the turbo 1s. I had the 1s,2s and gyakusou versions. Pounded out the 1s. By the time the 2s rolled around, I liked them but by then I had a a pair of Mach 4s and endorphin speed 1s so the 2s, while good, always took a backseat. The gyakusous had such amazing looks but terrible lockdown that they almost instantly became lifestyle shoes for me. I feared this for the 3s or plus or whatever. C’mon Nike! We want to love you!
The original Pegasus Turbo, the v2, the nature versions and these seems that are too much squish and collapse with the ground like an Invincible. It's a problem on long or mid distance runs.
If the logo on the tongue has the ability for the laces to go through it should u? Is that what it’s there for? Some of running shoes have a logo that is completely stitched so nothing can go underneath it some don’t have a logo at all and some have a logo that the laces can go through .. I’m confused
Agree with Thomas comparing Peg 41 with Peg 40, rhe Peg 41 has a thin forefoot feel especially on toe off, you really feel the ground too close to your foot. Sad to say its also observed on Peg Plus. I also agree that there are other far superior trainers in the market now than Peg Plus, yep Nike released this 4 yrs too late.
I bought the invincible 3s on sale and i want to like them, but ive been having so many issues with heel slippage only in my right foot. I have a blister on the ball of my foot. I did the runners knot and that didn’t help much. Any issues with heel slippage on these?
@@SKILLZ707 i tried runners knot and the thickest pair of feeture socks i own but i can’t run anything longer than a 5k in them… have you tried any of those socks with grip by chance? Thinking of buying a pair of those lol
I think the price is way too high. You may as well just get a Streakfly on sale now before they put a plate in them. I still have two brand new pairs of the Peg Turbo OG, but I'll pick up one pair of these just to see how they are.
Yeah it’s a bummer watching Nike struggle in that category. I’m a fan of their lifestyle shoes but running outside of their top two shoes has been average.

The original Peg Turbo was a fantastic shoe... only the Endorphin Speed / 2 comes close. Shame they ruined the Peg Turbo with the awful ill fitting version 2! Love the look of this praying it comes close to the OG
This shoe honestly doesn't make much sense; as it is there's not much real difference between it and the invincible in terms of materials. I thought nike was going to try to make their own "super trainer" with this - and was hoping for the iconic zoom air cushion plus a slightly thinner midsole of zoom x, thicker more durable outsole, making this basically like a alphafly lite minus the plate. But alas it was not meant to be, they even took out the zoom air units.
This and the invincible fit the description of a super trainer. I think the Pegasus premium which is coming out next year will be that vibe that you’re looking for, it will be $225 though.
Loving the look but so many better shoes to spend my cash on. I was always a fan of Nike, but man are they falling way behind with their running shoes!!
Hi guys - thanks for update. Have question on sizing. In nike streakfly i have 10.5 size and feels good. In nike alphafly 3 the 10.5 little tight. In nike Next % 2 have 11.0. In adidas adizero sl2 have 11.0. Very old Pegasus turbo 2 from 2020 was 10.5. What size for new Pegasus plus - any guess? You mention much like streakfly so maybe stay at 10.5 to keep the plus lighter than if go with 11.0?
Nike sat on their laurels, coasting with the foot off the accelerator for over half a decade. They prioritized profits for investors and producing new colorways for old models for the re-sale market. They got lazy and complacent. Now they're paying for it as all of the other brands have shot past them.
The problem with Nike is the poor quality. Invincible run 1 , the sole detached, I had to glue them back, the rubber is just falling apart. Nike Inv 3, the rubber is also coming of the sole of the shoe when I wash them 😤. All my old Asics, Adidas have the sole intact even if the upper is beat.
Nike sales are down cause they have become lazy and lost their innovative edge. The only thing they can come up with is a new colourway... hang on a sec... this is the same color. Im gonna guess this is going to be another shoe to sit on shelves.
Your daily trainer shouldn’t feel like a super shoe. You are not developing the muscles and tendons in your feet when you wear those racy shoes everyday. Many pros are going back to old school shoes like the structure and Pegs for daily. What’s the point of a super shoe on race day when you feel it every day?
So.. too expensive. Not too wide. Bad fit. Too high drop. Shit build quality. Way below the competition in terms of performance. Shit foam - no zoomx. Am I getting it right?

10mm drop is rough. Nike keeps designing shoes for heel strikers with a huge chunk in the heel in their daily trainers.

I don't know. I train with the Nike Free 3.0 and can't imagine running in such a high drop without ultimately getting injured.

I think that's not different to their other lifestyle shoes namely Nike Air max 2013 and 2017, etc. Some people love this model

True. Dynamic drop exists. Also, nike shoe quality is crap so it might come as a 6mm
ZoomX is not a durable foam therefore it had to be made into a more durable foam (and lose its Vaporfly fun properties) for a training shoe.

The V is heavier, but not bad. The forefoot feels more protected

High stacks have ruined our perception of shoes. 26mm isn’t enough in the forefoot now. And people actually like ridiculous shoes like the NB More 😂
The higher stacks have allowed us to put more miles on our legs. That can be a good trade off if speed isn’t the only thing you’re going for.

The original Pegasus Turbo, the v2, the nature versions and these seems that are too much squish and collapse with the ground like an Invincible. It's a problem on long or mid distance runs.
If the logo on the tongue has the ability for the laces to go through it should u? Is that what it’s there for? Some of running shoes have a logo that is completely stitched so nothing can go underneath it some don’t have a logo at all and some have a logo that the laces can go through .. I’m confused

Agree with Thomas comparing Peg 41 with Peg 40, rhe Peg 41 has a thin forefoot feel especially on toe off, you really feel the ground too close to your foot. Sad to say its also observed on Peg Plus. I also agree that there are other far superior trainers in the market now than Peg Plus, yep Nike released this 4 yrs too late.
I bought the invincible 3s on sale and i want to like them, but ive been having so many issues with heel slippage only in my right foot. I have a blister on the ball of my foot. I did the runners knot and that didn’t help much. Any issues with heel slippage on these?
Heel slip is a very common problem with these. I use a runners knot and thick socks and it definitely helps
@@SKILLZ707 i tried runners knot and the thickest pair of feeture socks i own but i can’t run anything longer than a 5k in them… have you tried any of those socks with grip by chance? Thinking of buying a pair of those lol

I think the price is way too high. You may as well just get a Streakfly on sale now before they put a plate in them. I still have two brand new pairs of the Peg Turbo OG, but I'll pick up one pair of these just to see how they are.
I had the original peg turbo back then and now Ascis Superblast series ruined running shoes for me. I dont need Nike running shoes anymore

Yeah it’s a bummer watching Nike struggle in that category. I’m a fan of their lifestyle shoes but running outside of their top two shoes has been average.
Nike just knows people are gonna buy it no matter the price. I thought they’d give it the same stack height that new balance gave the Rebel v4

The original Peg Turbo was a fantastic shoe... only the Endorphin Speed / 2 comes close. Shame they ruined the Peg Turbo with the awful ill fitting version 2! Love the look of this praying it comes close to the OG
This shoe honestly doesn't make much sense; as it is there's not much real difference between it and the invincible in terms of materials. I thought nike was going to try to make their own "super trainer" with this - and was hoping for the iconic zoom air cushion plus a slightly thinner midsole of zoom x, thicker more durable outsole, making this basically like a alphafly lite minus the plate. But alas it was not meant to be, they even took out the zoom air units.
This and the invincible fit the description of a super trainer. I think the Pegasus premium which is coming out next year will be that vibe that you’re looking for, it will be $225 though.

Hi guys - thanks for update. Have question on sizing. In nike streakfly i have 10.5 size and feels good. In nike alphafly 3 the 10.5 little tight. In nike Next % 2 have 11.0. In adidas adizero sl2 have 11.0. Very old Pegasus turbo 2 from 2020 was 10.5. What size for new Pegasus plus - any guess? You mention much like streakfly so maybe stay at 10.5 to keep the plus lighter than if go with 11.0?
It’s true to size. I ran in these and there’s plenty of room. You should go your usual 10.5
Nike sat on their laurels, coasting with the foot off the accelerator for over half a decade. They prioritized profits for investors and producing new colorways for old models for the re-sale market. They got lazy and complacent. Now they're paying for it as all of the other brands have shot past them.
Looks good for casual wear but no way as a running shoe, too many better competitors, Mizuno Neo Vista, Saucony Endorphin Speed 4 and Asics Superblast

The problem with Nike is the poor quality. Invincible run 1 , the sole detached, I had to glue them back, the rubber is just falling apart. Nike Inv 3, the rubber is also coming of the sole of the shoe when I wash them 😤. All my old Asics, Adidas have the sole intact even if the upper is beat.
Nike sales are down cause they have become lazy and lost their innovative edge. The only thing they can come up with is a new colourway... hang on a sec... this is the same color. Im gonna guess this is going to be another shoe to sit on shelves.
The first version: upper was not breathable and it was a very unstable shoe

Your daily trainer shouldn’t feel like a super shoe. You are not developing the muscles and tendons in your feet when you wear those racy shoes everyday. Many pros are going back to old school shoes like the structure and Pegs for daily. What’s the point of a super shoe on race day when you feel it every day?
