5.11 Rush backpacks are just amazing and not only for tactical applications.

Just for the record...all these packs have zippers. I, being a prepper from some time ago, know for experience that they are NOT the best choice. Suffer a fall or something that makes the main zipper to get damaged and you're toasted. Experience has taught me to use a toploader and several smaller dry bags inside. And avoid using zippers.

They should just start adding both options for extra security in case one breaks when you're in need

The 5.11 rush 72 is last generation model which is discontinued. The updated version comes with a laptop pocket in the main compartment. The fleece lined glasses pocket is deeper. Also they removed the water draining holes.

OK. Mystery Ranch is Legit. I would love to test & evaluate and give feedback on the Israeli pack. Maxpedition is ok. But the 511 gear is not very good anymore. Use to be decent. But quality has gone way down!

The 5.11 RUSH series should be updated to the RUSH 2 series. There are a few differences between the two with the 2 series being what I call more “urbanized”, some pockets no longer there and a laptop sleeve in the main compartment.

I understand what "top 5" means....i understand what do you mean by "tactical" (that is actually an action...and you are using this word in conjunction with an object here)....what i don't understand is to whom is this video directed to? To ...a civilian for the "looks" while attracting eyes from every corner of the streets? ....To the military guys?...they have theirs issued or acquired in bulk by the services in charge with supplying the gear...so no actual use
On what is this "Top" based on?

Did you skip the first 1:40 of this video? cause they essentially answer all your questions.
but if that wasnt in-depth enough for you ill try to explain "tactical" backpacks to you through my limited knowledge.
"Tactical" essentially just refers to being designed for military combat usage, tactical bags and gear was once largely regulated to military use but over the years former service man and woman have found usage of the gear for none tactical purposes (none warzone purposes) like EDC usage and camping, recreation sport usage like hunting, airsoft and paintball, not to mention gear that was once only seen on battle fields is also now regularly used by professionals in all kinds of fields from paramedics and police officers to scientist and wilderness adventurers, photographers and documentarians.
Nowadays the term "tactical" is thrown on a wide range of products from all kinds of quality standards and one must do some research and have some knowledge and understanding of the industry to avoid purchasing junk that wrongly and dangerously is labelled as being a "tactical" product, which again being rooted in military usage, means that the term invoke a certain level of durability standards that isnt enforced across the industry.
When your in rough environments and unpredictable scenarios "tactical" backpacks are essentially just rugged/durable gear that you know you can trust, highly modular purpose built gear with specific features that can be adapted to a wide range of usages, survival gear that could help you out of tough situations etc etc
The folks that buy such gear can be anyone from a bushcrafter and outdoor enthusiast, to dooms day preppers and zombie movie/show fans, to students and teachers, scouts and cadets and again working professionals in a wide range of fields.
The usage of "tactical" gear by regular civilians has exploded in the past decade, to the point that for many its not at all out of place to see someone in a local coffee shop wearing army fatigues, real tree camos and or carrying a tactical backpack... even within big cities, not just small rural areas.
As the saying goes they dont make things like they use to and for those that like to purchase once and have a product last many many years to a full lifetime, well quality and trusted manufactures of tactical gear just so happen to be making some of the most rugged products still being mass produced today, if you've brought a camp backpack or school backpack in the past decade chances are it didnt last you much more then a few years of regular usage... tactical backpacks take a beating and keep on ticking its not uncommon to get a decade or more use out of a quality built tactical backpack and in a world of disposable products theres a large number of folks old and young that have found appreciation of bespoke and mass produced products built to last a lifetime and potentially be past down through generations (not really backpacks per se but in terms of tactical/survival knives and such gear) rather then trashed and thrashed after a few years of usage, quality tactical and survival gear can last a lifetime if treated and taken care of properly... and sometimes even when the gears used and abused it still can hold up phenomaly well.
This top 5 list like any list is subjective and was based on the opinion of a select few, based on there own research and experiences, needs, and philosophies of usage... that said, it was a respectable list in my opinion for both new or experienced tactical backpack users.

Its really annoying how lazy UA-camrs are getting. Anyone can take "commercials" for a product and mash em' together and call it a day.
