FLOORED that you didn't mention parrying! learning to parry in valheim is one of the #1 skills I always recommend newcomers. It's like dodging but supercharged. Not only do you nullify the enemy's damage, you also stagger them, leaving them open to X2 DAMAGE for the duration of the stagger- which is usually long enough for a weapon's full combo to go off, usually staggering them again if they're still alive. Hilariously this even works on ranged enemies, and parrying an arrow will, in fact, stagger the shooter. Learn to parry anything. You can parry anything if you're brave and/or stupid enough. And especially if you've already got the dodge-roll timing down for the , it's identical to a simple right click to shield-parry!
@@celuria4481I like to imagine parry works on archers because they are so impressive you blocked a flying arrow they are speechless and open to attacks.
One addition to the troll counters, daggers also deal piercing damage, and the Abyssal Razor can be used with its secondary attack is capable of even one-shotting them before beating The Elder. I feel most people probably know this, but for those that don't, figured it's a solid mention!
Yesterday I was in a 8 minute war with 2 wraiths, 1 abomination and 3 oozers, I had no rested, was wet, first time in Swamp on this world with lvl 2 upgraded troll gear, managed to clutch by killing the wraiths with campfires!!!
For the environment tips; When first raiding fuling camps in the plains try to find high ground or points of position where you can bow off some of the fulings without alerting the entire camp. Draw a couple fulings or berserkers towards you first before you run in. Also, pick off shamans first as they can be very annoying. The curve walks and movements to save stamina are such an underrated tip. I use it ALL the time and don't feel like it's talked about enough. Great video man really your attention to detail in such a complex game is very impressive. Wish I had these tips well before my 1k hours lol
LOVE the huntsman bow in the plains. You can really tackle a fuling village with precision! Oh man, the walking movements IMO are the most important tip on this list. Really allows you to conserve stamina. Appreciate the kind words!
The workbench tip for wolves is genius I often try to get high ground when fighting, but now Ill create it myself! some people use the hoe to make high ground too
New player btw, currently finishing up mountain biome: I've managed to pit a stone golem vs the Plains creatures lol, the Lox were especially useful :P
Bonemass can be easily killed with a two-handed hammer Just stand on the nose of the skull that is his spawner and just wack away, the AOE will hit him and knock back any ads he spawns.
amazing and great video and very useful tips esspically this 2:20 it was very useful i didnt know about the exact meaning of very weak and things like that i wish to see a video of most fun things to do in valheim when you want to play but are tired of grinding something like that xD (jusst a small idea)
I've only played this game for 7 months and there's one crucial thing that I have learned and everyone must remember: MOST MOBS CANNOT JUMP. Literally just make any elevation and out of mob's reach and you'll be mostly fine. But you have to have a ranged weapon that can shoot downwards or a melee combo that hits downwards.
movespeed in my experience is super important. The faster you are its easier to avoid damage. The blocking skill is more nuanced as it impacts your ability to block successfully and without being staggered. Maybe I can talk about it more in a future video
Hello Spazzy, i saw on your recent stream that you had organized your base and storage into different types of drops. My base is super well organised in terms of where everything is supposed to be, like portal area, kitchen area, crafting house, dock, etc. But the biggest problem has always been loot and storage management. We often have to go across the base just to look for some missing feathers or scrap that might be in a random chest. We are 4 players usually on the server and we often just dump the "useless" drops in the first empty or almost empty chest we find. I saw that you had "soft drops" and "hard drops". What's the difference and if possible can you make a video on storage and how to effectively store your drops and items?
yeah I could probably do that! I have to give credit to the other players in the community for doing most of the organization but I could absolutely research this and make a video on it!
