I’ve had both drivers. When the G430 first came out I got one, the numbers were great, the distance, forgiveness etc was what I thought as an upgrade to the G425. But after several rounds I put the G425 right back in the bag and never looked back. As a whole and especially when I’m not having my best day with my driver, which honestly isn’t that often because I am good with the big stick, the G425 is a fairway finder. The G430 is no where near the consistent dispersion numbers over all. It seems like you’re very pleased with the 425, I’m betting you’ll see over a couple of rounds it’s the best driver Ping has ever made. The 430’s face is to shallow IMO and can cause problems on poor strikes. Good video though. As am I a huge Ping driver fan!
This is what I’ve been looking for. Just joined the market after my G400 cracked on the hosel. Been trying out the G430’s and debating getting a used G425. Really want that warranty after breaking my driver, so I’m leaning toward the G430 Max.
Just got one coming in the mail. Looking forward to comparing it against the G400 Max, which has nearly 10k MOI and has been so good. I just wish I could get it to launch lower with lower spin. Hopefully the 10k delivers that!
I know that the launch monitor can make a difference, but I don’t strike the ball as well as you, but I averaged 150 ball speed with about the same club head speed as you when I was fit for a 425. Your spin also seems about 300 rpm too high which surprises me that they considered 1.42 smash and 2800 spin 97% optimized. (For the record, I find Foresight reads CHS about 2mph faster than my Mevo plus, so that can surpress smash factor).
Hmm, one thing I know I have in mind is that I've not been practicing as much for various reasons, and I expect I'm not striking it as good as I would like. In the past I've been seeing more like 150 ball speed and think with some range and course time, I'll improve the strike and see a little more from it. Past that, I can only really report what it says. More to come I think :-)
I upgaded my Stealth 2 to G430Max 10K. Perfomance Average +14 yards and +10% FIR, Average + 17 yards, Longest Plus 21 yards. Big miss almost elimiated. I've never felt more like I was cheating and I was a massive TM fanboy and really hated the turbulator things.......
@@JonPerkinsGolf Really does, GIR is improving as hitting less club on every approach and no having to chip out the trees saves shots. I only tried Ping as I hired a set on holiday and they happened to eb G425's that impporessed me enough to try a fitting....
Hey mate, I checked with them and yes anyone can go, and no they wouldn't charge you. The only thing would be as they're the HQ they would send your fitting info to a distributor local to you and you'd need to then purchase any clubs via them, based on the fitting. I've really enjoyed it so far. Getting the spin down a chunk for me is important, and I guess it's averaged across a bunch of shot, so not to say the G425 didn't sometimes go further. But, I'm liking it!!

To be honest, that's lower than it has been at times and it's been an issue for me... Not a perfect swing 😂 but trying to make gains.
