    Great video! Rule 11: when you miss your putt, keep looking at your ball's trajectory as it passes the hole. It's litterally giving you the read of your next putt. Often we're disappointed and will look away spontaneously.

    Good stuff. I recommend having 25-50-75-100 stock shots. They make it much easier to pick conservative targets off the tee & avoid greenside hazards...while still having a chance at par or easy bogey on tough holes. They are also handy for making birdies on par 5's for better players.

    This is a great video.
    I have been playing just over 18 months and joined a club at the start of the year, with an 18.2 h’cap.
    Unfortunately chasing pins and not using any of the tips you have spoken about I’m now playing of 23.
    I will use this video to hopefully focus on the correct things which will hopefully help me to push my handicap in the right direction.
    Great video and great advice.

      @@JonPerkinsGolf ….i have subscribed to your channel, as this is exactly the kind of channel that all amateur golfers need.
      Helpful advice that will actually help an amateur golfer improve.
      To many golf channels offer advice which only leads to confusion on the course, especially around the swing.
      Keep up the great work.

    Hole strategy is under-developed, & you addressed this nicely!

    Great insight. The course looked fun. It had some nicely laid out holes. Maybe one too many par 3's for my taste.

    The tip i never here any youtubers talking about is aiming to give yourself an uphill putt, rather than a downhill putt. I heard tiger woods say it in an interview and its seriously effective.

    • @tedzink4574
      @tedzink4574 3 місяці тому +1

      One reason why you may hot hear much about leaving an uphill putt is that the vast majority of golfers may not have a solid grasp of their distances and they'll typically hit it short of that uphill putt distance anyway, thus leaving themselves WAY shorter than the green. Many course management preachers suggest going for back of the green distance, coming up a bit short, ultimately having that uphill putt.

    • @ajalikhanz
      @ajalikhanz 4 дні тому

      It is but amateurs aren’t good enough to do that and they’ll likely have an uphill putt because stats say they’re generally short of the pin

    Hi Jon. Antill Park was my home course in my 20's. Good to see it again. You also played Leura Golf Club which I went to two years ago. Are you planning somewhere else soon?

      @JonPerkinsGolf  3 місяці тому

      Hey, glad you enjoyed it! I try to play a few different courses if I can, and mix in some interesting country tracks. It's always a bit up in the air as to when I can fit in filming and where. Love trying to find new courses though.

    Great video Jon with some very good ideas that us hackers should think about. Is there an Australian site to purchase the Shotscope V5. The UK one linked doesn't seem to deliver to Aus. Cheers.

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks mate, appreciate that. I double checked with ShotScope and the link should go to their site and re-direct to Golf Box for Aus sales. Apparently all of their sales in Australia are via Golf Box. Hope that helps and thanks for watching along!

    Great video! Rule 7 really made a huge difference for me, completely changing my scores. It's crazy how many players don’t realize that an extra putt can hurt your game just as much as chunking a shot 30 feet.
    I recently shared a video with 5 easy mental tips that helped me go from a 15hcp to a 7hcp in 2 months(!!) some years ago.
    Here is the video: ua-cam.com/video/5VNSixykH9Q/v-deo.html
    I'll be posting more videos soon (already tomorrow), all made with the same pro who gave me these game-changing tips.

    Great vids... But don't understand your first tip... Hovering the club removes tension? It adds tension has you have to keep the club up in the air... I find the opposite works where I place the driver down the ground and feel arms and body relax before embarking on my swing..?

    Hi Jon
    How do you find the shotscope ranger finder, no problems locking onto pin etc ?

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi. I'm very happy with mine, locks on straight away and very easily. In general no rangefinders seem to like foggy days, but perfect the rest of the time.

    I'm a 0.2 handicap
    Here my tips...
    1. If you can break 90, don't use a driver ever... If you are near the green, putt, don't play a normal shot
    On a tee, tee up the side where trouble is and hit away from it

    About 4:50 into the video you mention a ‘utility iron’. What exactly is that?

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  3 місяці тому

      Hi Henrik, it's a sort of cross between a hybrid and a driving iron. I found it online from a company called Caley and love it. There's a video on my channel if you do want to know more about it: ua-cam.com/video/Iw_ZNOn0fnM/v-deo.html

    I hit my driver 215 . How do you hit your so far ? What am I missing. I am 6’4” 255.
    And when I feel like I smoke it … it goes 220. So I need to switch to a regular flex or what ???

    • @JonPerkinsGolf
      @JonPerkinsGolf  3 місяці тому +1

      Quite hard to unpack that online. Sounds like you're probably not far from great results though, maybe worth seeing and asking a local pro?

    • @3n2a2
      @3n2a2 2 місяці тому

      Pro could help...or an experienced good player. Some basic numbers will tell you a lot. What is your clubhead speed? If under 100mph with your build, you probably have a lot of tension in the arms and wrists. If over 100, you have a strike problem and would benefit from impact tape, videoing your path for pro help (Google Swingtweaks), and getting launch numbers.
      Good luck...you definitely have 300+ potential with less effort than the current 215.
