Lot of haters on here. Truth is probably that Rory weakened a bit during the intense pressure of the last 4 holes due to an unstable home life. There is no telling what hoops his married life made him jump through, getting divorced, then reconciling, etc. This can really wear on you, draining you of energy when you need it the most. It is no secret that the most winning golfer of all time, Jack Nicklaus, also had one of the great marriages and families of all time. That foundation is extremely important and cannot be overlooked. Look what happened to Tiger after his split in 2009. Rory needs a little time to sort his life out once and for all, and if he does that, afterwards he will be back stronger than ever, count on it.
I wouldn’t call it a choke.. he was losing the entire duration of the tournament until the last couple of holes. There in which he only took the lead because Bryson had 2 bogeys and Rory had 2 birdies in a row. He wasn’t expected to win. He had a flash where he was in the lead that’s it. No choke, Bryson was just better and more consistent.
Missing 2 putts of the same distance after making 500 in a row is 100% a huge choke. Actually maybe the best choke in the history of all majors. Not just one big mistake to lose, but two massive mistakes back to back and repeated to lose.
Rory had this one (2024 US Open) wrapped up. Leading by two strokes with a few holes to play and Bryson can't hit a fairway. Rory then blows two putts under 4 feet. Ouch. This one will hurt for a long time. Sorry bud. Gotta hand it to Bryson,....he made a stellar sand save on last hole.
He’s won loads, he has enough money for a dozen lifetimes, he’s now married with a daughter…….after all these years, perhaps golf isn’t that important to him at the moment! Pretty understandable!

Like many others, though, I'm sure he'll win more majors.
Same thing happened to him that happened to most of the greats. He got to the peak of the mountain, wasn't satisfied and wanted to get paid. Started messing with his swing, switched club companies for more money and over training in the gym to build muscle he didn't need. Now he can drive the ball better than anyone on Earth other than maybe Bryson, but has a mediocre approach game and an average at best putter.

He’ll be back soon enough playing consistently good golf, many pros would love to have done what the guys done in his career……….. give the guy a break !!
The problem with golf is that everyone is compared to Tiger. If we compared every single NBA player to MJ everyone would look horrible. Rory is still a generational talent and it doesn't matter, because he is not Tiger.
Sure when Rory was younger he won a few championships but now he’s older Rory hasn’t won any major championships! But honestly Rory hasn’t shown consistently in winning championships! It’s unbelievable he’s #3 in the world! All I see is a spoiled brat who was young & won championship’s early & received huge contracts & now Rory is not living up to these contracts? Maybe that’s putting too much pressure on Rory to win championship or maybe his personal life has some bearing on his career? At any rate Rory needs to man up & start being a professional golf player & not an entitled only child spoiled brat! Just remember Rory you made your personal business public by filing for divorce from your wife Erica of seven years! Then after You Rory receives the bill from your attorneys for millions You Rory called off the divorce & reconcile with your wife Erica! Now the trust factor kicks in Rory for Erica? Hopefully Erica will be more aware of you Rory & trusting you Rory? Any wife would have trust issues after what you just did Rory! Honestly Rory you have a hard time with commitment or committing to one woman!
You have to make every shot. You cannot go into victory formation and take a knee. That's golf. It happens. Rory showed what a jackass he is by leaving so fast. Scottie Sheffler is showing that he isn't such a good guy after all either. You really see a player's character when he LOSES. It's easy to win and be all sunshine and cool to everyone. But when you lose and act like a baby....well.... Greg Norman was always class when he lost. When he blew the masters, he shook hands with Faldo, he stayed and talked to the press. Even after all these years, he still faces it and is willing to talk about it.

Everybody can't be Tiger Woods, just like everyone can't be Michael Jordan. Players like that come along once or twice in a hundred years. Rory is very very good. He's in the top 10 in the world. But Tiger was a level above anyone in the top 10 not just Rory. Now Rory was poised to win with 3 holes left but he hadn't been under pressure like that in a major for 10 years and his nerves couldn't handle it. Once he gets past the pain of this loss, he'll be more ready the next time he's faced with this situation.
you are on to something. wiry strong, core strong........ nobody ever brings up his weight training. And right on cue, he chokes in the US Open against the LIV boy with the long drives 😂
Yeah that hurt to watch😢
Absolutely INSANE scenes man.... Couldn't believe it
He started believing his own hype.
There's nothing exciting going on in the PGA since the Tiger days.
Funny timing
Yo this is literally the Company Man on yt. There is no way this guy sounds this similar and not him.
I'm getting so many comments like that😂 I promise it's just a coincidence.
What is going on!, bro missed two slick putts. And I see his career falling apart? Atleast what I see on social media
If I was Rory Mcilroy I would not speak to media too after losing that U.S. Open too. He is pissed he lost.
The problem with golf is that everyone is compared to Tiger. If we compared every single NBA player to MJ everyone would look horrible. Rory is still a generational talent and it doesn't matter, because he is not Tiger.
He’s 3rd in the world. He’s not tiger but he’s one of the best. He’s over due for a masters win.
Cadence sounds like company man
Sure when Rory was younger he won a few championships but now he’s older Rory hasn’t won any major championships!
He left without his participation trophy
This the same dude as the barca yt channel?? 😂
Last four holes of this US Open was pretty much testimony to this video. Maybe he needs to go back to the 'fro
To me his collapse in that one major think it was the masters during his rise was the end of him being the next tiger
Why no clips of the missed and fuck ups? Video wa good but would’ve liked to see what you were talking about
Dont think anything happened to him. Golf is f$#@cking hard. The game doesn't owe you anything
Even after all these years, he still faces it and is willing to talk about it.
who watching this after the US Open
Rory is just like us he tinkered with his swing. Gary player said tiger would have won more if he didnt
Don't call him an Irishman - he's British
He competed for Ireland at the youth level and also in the Olympics….Good luck with that argument
@@RoluGolf He is a British national and has himself said that he feels more British than Irish (en.espn.co.uk/golf/sport/story/169503.html). Enjoyed the video though 👍
How is he not Irish? Haha I’m genuinely wondering
It’s over for him. Today just destroyed him. You can’t just shake this off
Nice take.
Rooting for Rory to win The Open
Rory could, by now have won even 10more Majors (totally reasonable number) but simply his head freezes, nerves get to him in clutch moments...he, because of speed he produces has 10years more in the tank and I hope he atleast win that Augusta
I’m always rooting for Rory along with Bryson Dechambeau.
A a former professional no lead in golf is hard to lose
Still one of the greatest players 🙌🏾
Everybody can't be Tiger Woods, just like everyone can't be Michael Jordan. Players like that come along once or twice in a hundred years. Rory is very very good. He's in the top 10 in the world. But Tiger was a level above anyone in the top 10 not just Rory. Now Rory was poised to win with 3 holes left but he hadn't been under pressure like that in a major for 10 years and his nerves couldn't handle it. Once he gets past the pain of this loss, he'll be more ready the next time he's faced with this situation.
Building muscle kills the golf swing, under pressure you can’t control muscle. Top golfers should build up legs and keep the upper body flexible.
you are on to something. wiry strong, core strong........ nobody ever brings up his weight training. II went from a +2 at 16, started power lifting, if I could break 80 two years later I was having a good day. Driving distance was up, swing was flatter and less fluid, short game poor to streaky......
They say fighters punch power comes form glutes, core, lower legs and having good shoulders.
Bulky Bryson dechambeau just won the u.s. open, muscle has nothing to do with golf, as long as you still have full mobility
@@carterrosati5282 bulky bryson has stepped way back from his bulk building mentality and exercises, and this might be the primary reason he won.... cause his big muscles sure were firing a little off, barely hitting a fairway all day...... good thing the golf gods were working for him yesterday. ECK is a good example of how bulk can change your swing negatively.
@@glen.simpsonBryson’s problem was that he got too big too fast. He gained a huge amount of fat in addition to his muscle also and knew that that wasn’t healthy.
He's a PGA pawn who really doesn't think. He's a dog. Sit! He sits.
Nope
But he didn’t quite match Tiger’s accolades and now where is he?
0:55 why does he look like Michael Jackson but with natural defects in this 😅 sorry about the putt Roy
He Choked, biggest Choke of the US open, Runs away with tail between his legs! He ran away because He was Beaten in a major again by a LIV Golfer!!
Take the money and run Rory.
He can't hit anything over 15 feet on Sunday, and then in the US Open he FINALLY hit a few of those- only to lose it on a couple 3 footers at the end
Let's face it, Rory and Sergio Garcia are two peas in a pod......CHOKERS!!!
