- Rory Mcilroy is one of the best golfers of all time, and arguably the best of his generation. But ever since his last major win in 2014, Rory just can't seem to find a way to win another one. He had a golden opportunity to win the 2024 US Open, but instead had one of the worst collapses of his entire career.

2024 US Open 'error' was being on the wrong side of the hole, those putts were tough.
Speaking of heartbreak, you didn't mention that he broke Caroline Wozniacki's heart by calling off their wedding at the last minute. Since then, he has no major win.
That actually happened early 2014. He won two majors later that year. Rory may have his issues, Caroline is not one of them though lol

This isn't the worst. The Masters by far was.
Golf is a truly unique animal tournaments are won and lost on a knifes edge. When serious scar tissue builds up in golf it becomes harder and harder to overcome. The sport is physical but its also highly mental and losses and disappointment builds and builds and performing under that pressure becomes harder and harder. He has 4 majors which is already a HOF career not to memtion numerous fed ex cups, Ryder cups, race to Dubai championships he's had an outstanding HOF career but it's possible another major may not come but we will have to see no one can rule another win out

On 18 hole Rory likely realized that he should have taken the $700 Million from LIV much like Bryson did. He needed it. But instead the PGAT fans cheered against Rory by chanting USA/USA. I feel Rory should just play in Europe in front of his true fans - to reestablish his love for the game. There was no shame in finishing 2nd at the US Open. Many believe Rory will never win another major. I wish him well - whether he does or not. 😀

You’ve left out a lot of context. Bryson had the lead for most of that final round. Not Rory. At the open can smith started the back 9 with 5 straight birdies. Rory didn’t lose that open. Smith won it. I am no Rory fan. But this video is just a pos to be frank. Your character is shining through your work here. And it doesn’t say much for your character unfortunately.
Rory had 4 birdies from 9 to 13. If he had held on it wouldn't have been a Bryson collapse but a Rory win. But 2 bogeys in 3 holes with a 2 shot lead is definitely a collapse. Especially the putt on 16 and chip on 18. Those were 2 terrible strokes at the time the pressure was on.
Any of Y'all watching this actually play golf? He ain't doing so bad. How many of us could accomplish what he has? Golf is a hard game. Basketball? Four other guys to help you out. Football? Ten other guys on your side of the ball to blame. Hockey? Soccer? Water Polo? Rugby? Ok, Tennis is the only other major sport I can think of in the moment where you're on the stage all by yoursellf. Get over it. Any of Y'all pointing your fingers ought to look in th mirror. How many have you won?

I play and watch every week. Obviously he’s an absolutely incredible golfer, you have to be an insanely good golfer to even participate in a single PGA Tour event. But when you’re as good as he is, it’s still a bit of an interesting story that he can’t seem to climb back to the top step despite coming so close so many times

I play golf consistently and have massive respect for how difficult it is. But Rory is a idiot that can have a championship handed to him and will still fuck it up. Been watching pga for about a year now and I’ve seen this dude make countless fuck ups and collapses that shouldn’t be happening when ur a pro💀
